I'm also a non-native German speaker but would agree with the more *positive* reviews below. My experiences with both TK telephone support and coverage have been extremely positive, friendly and helpful!

BAD SERVICE! I contacted TK by chat to ask a question about my insurance coverage outside of Germany. All info was clearly provided in German and they just answered one line which says I need to ask them for their approval and then literally ended the chat immediately after so I don't have the chance to reply.

Very friendly on phone and in person. Fuss-free. Good working processes. Fast response times. And all that every single time I had some matter to be dealt with. I am so happy with them!

I have a chronic hair loss problem. For this, I called TK service on January 17 to book an appointment with a dermatologist. I got an appointment for Feb 06 with a doctor. After waiting for almost 3 weeks when I met the doctor on Feb 06, she refused to even diagnose the problem because she told me to pay in cash the amount as they don't entertain public insurance. If that was the case, why did TK service book an appointment with a doctor who doesn't see public insurance patients. When I called TK service asking for another appointment, I was told that they would book another appointment for me and it would be again after 2-3 weeks and that doctor might refuse to diagnose me as well if they don't see public insurance patients. TK doesn't even provide an appointment with a doctor who sees public insurance patients. I have a chronic problem here. This isn't the kind of service I expected.

Their service is advertised as english speaking however nearly all of their correspondence is in german. They have been sending multiple letters but very surprised since they have an online portal.... I have a medical condition and it has been very stressful and time consuming with all of the back and fourth; my medical supplies/reimbursement is still not sorted after 2.5 months so I've had to fly back home twice to get my medical supplies.... Extremely disappointing service and would not recommend. I have friends who went with AOK and it seems to be much better.

Super unfriendly people on the phone. Which is upsetting because the customers that they are rude to, are the reason these people have a job. They don´t want to help, they just want to be jerks to their own customers. I would give zero stars if I could. What a failure of a company.

NOTHING WORKS. Their website, registration process, the process to get your card... I have not experienced such unprofessionalism and uselessness with any service of any type in my life. Go with AOK.

Nicest customer service in Germany. Helpful, patient (especially if you don't speak the language correctly), efficient and polite. You really don't see that everyday.

Whenever I have been in contact with Techniker Krankenkasse, I have receive The most helpful service. It is always informative, friendly and honest.
Not only do they answer all your questions but, if there's something you might have overlooked, they are knowledgeable and will provide you with all the information needed.
I would recommend TK to anyone.
