My partner and I went to see Sammy for our engagement ring consultation and she was amazing. So patient and informative, we felt comfortable straight away.

She walked us through tons of options and clearly knows her stuff when it comes to rings. Sammy made the whole thing feel exciting instead of stressful, which we really appreciated. Hands down the best consultation we’ve had!

I received my ring all the way to Norway just in time for my wedding. It’s been a few days since the wedding and I have to say I love love love the ring! Wow, it’s exactly what I wanted and it came in the most beautiful packaging! I’m so happy!

Always have a good experience at TMC consultations. I like that they never push you to purchase, we went in as I am upgrading my set and haven't quite decided what I am wanting, so they send you a quote with everything you like and you can order when/if you're ready.

Very easy to pick what I wanted all the options are laid out well and easy to understand as I’m not well versed in jewellery. The email updates on the crafting process is a very nice touch.

Our appointment was so straightforward, the helpful assistant was extremely knowledgeable on the products and quality etc. She was so friendly and accommodating while we tried on our rings. We were able to make our decision on the day of our appointment and in under 24hrs we had our CAD ready for approval!

Wonderful customer service, kept me up to date on the process of manufacturing at each stage, and delivered in the timeframe in beautiful packaging! Felt really special to unbox it! The earrings are sparkly and a gorgeous addition to my earring stack, super comfortable to wear too! Thank you!

Ella was incredibly friendly and helpful in finding the perfect engagement ring for my partner. I know next to nothing about jewellery, so appreciated her well-informed insight in navigating the varying specifications. The atmosphere was very relaxing which helped ease the inherent nerves associated with such a sizeable investment. Lexie was amazing. She was warm and welcoming from the moment we approached the doors. My fiance and I unexpectedly had my younger brother and nephew for the day and I was a bit stressed about having them at the appointment but Lexie was super lovely and interacted with the kids while also paying attention to our questions. Aside from the stunning rings and many choices, TMC definitely has amazing customer service all around and this is one of the many reasons we choose to come back.

We booked an appointment after a trusted friend’s recommendation, excited to start looking for an engagement rings. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the most disappointing retail experiences we’ve ever had.

From the moment we arrived, I felt like Vivian in Pretty Woman. The sales assistant had a very fixed idea of what I should like and wasn’t interested in listening to what we were actually asking for.

One of the first disappointments was that we weren’t both allowed to try on rings. We explained that we were interested in looking at men’s engagement rings as well, but were told, “Let’s just focus on finding what it is you want.” It felt dismissive and, honestly, as though we were being judged for doing something a little unconventional.

The range on display was also much smaller than expected, with very few styles available to try on and mostly smaller stone sizes. I wanted to explore different designs, shapes and larger stones, but the options I was shown were extremely limited.

When I asked to see rings with larger diamonds, it felt like it was assumed we couldn’t afford them. Instead, it was suggested they could “swap it for moissanite” to reduce the price. At the same time, they refused to give us even a rough price range, repeatedly saying that “all would be revealed later.” My partner and I have been together for a long time and had already discussed our budget. Being treated as though we couldn’t afford what we were asking to see, while also having pricing withheld, felt incredibly patronising.

To make matters worse, the consultant repeatedly referenced their own engagement ring, pointing out that their diamond was larger and more expensive than what we were looking at. It came across as unnecessary and unprofessional.

When I asked to see different diamond shapes, I was told we’d “run out of time” despite still having around 15 minutes left in our appointment and no other clients waiting. We were ushered out exactly on time, even though the store wasn’t closing. It genuinely felt like they didn’t want us there.

Buying an engagement ring should be an exciting, memorable experience. Instead, we left feeling judged, rushed and unwelcome. We were ready to make a significant purchase, but this experience completely changed our minds. We’ll be taking our business elsewhere.

After comparing prices with other lab-grown diamond jewellers around Brisbane offering similar quality, this company was also noticeably more expensive.

Walking out, all I could think about was the iconic Pretty Woman scene where Vivian returns to the boutique and says, “Big mistake. Big. Huge.” That’s exactly how this experience felt. Their loss.

Save yourself the disappointment and look elsewhere. There are plenty of jewellers who will actually listen to you, make you feel welcome, and treat such an important purchase with the care it deserves.
