Very noisy, the music was really cranked up causing people to shout over each other... (booking was for 6.30pm on a saturday & it was busy) Love a bit of music but it was hard to chat over dinner. Foo... See more

The Tomahawk Steakhouse in Saltburn was…
The Tomahawk Steakhouse in Saltburn was excellent and the meal in the restaurant was 10 out of 10. Our waitress was Caitlin and she was a very kind and polite young lady when serving us. We had a beautiful view sat in the glass balcony and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in there. As we left, we decided to have a ice- cream from the ice- cream hut at the entrance to the restaurant and we we served by a very lovely polite and jolly young lady called Nichola Taylor. She was so friendly and polite and definitely a people person a credit to the restaurant. We will most certainly be visiting there again soon.
21’st birthday celebration disaster
21’st birthday celebration disaster - Plates cold, food cold half way through, no one asked if meal OK at anytime, we had to ask for drink replenishment, overcharged on bill had to correct server and ask for refund, explained all above when paying, “sorry” was the response - gave my name and telephone number and asked for representative to call me following day - no call. This was the first time eating here and have looked forward to this for some time based on a friends and family recommendation- what a shame
A rare negative review from me
I really don’t normally leave bad reviews BUT we were so looking forward to having a lovely brunch with my son and his fiancée (newly engaged) and their 15 month old baby. Our booking was for 11am we were greeted then left for a good 10 mins whilst they cleaned the table. The place was full, buzzing and I had a good feel about the place. They seated us then gave us a menu - 40 mins came and went - I waved over and they came and took our order. 20 mins came and went and my husband went to ask about our drinks - another 10 mins passed and we got the drinks - the baby started to cry so my son went out and bought her some food to be snacking on. Imagine our horror when they started to serve the table of approx 12 at the side of us - who had been there a lot longer than we had. We realised that we still had some waiting ahead - we looked around and there was still about 5 tables waiting to be given their food - again we asked and told we were the next ticket - some of the customers around us started to leave without their meals - we stuck it out and eventually served 1.5 hours after our arrival. The explanation was that staff hadn’t turned up in the kitchen - I gave constructive criticism to the waiter to say we should have been given the expectations when we first arrived so we could make a choice to stay or leave. We asked for another round of hot drinks as a goodwill gesture to have with our very late breakfast - they did this for us. The food was good for me and my husband but the bigger breakfast seemed a bit too well done (eggs were hard) - we felt sorry for the staff that were serving us but did think they should’ve kept us informed and offer us drinks whilst waiting - it seems that they didn’t know how to deal with us in the interim - finally after our meal our bill came and they’d taken the cost of all of our drinks off the bill - such a shame, lovely place but it’s prob our first and last visit Bank holiday ruined!
Excessive wait times and poor experience.
Very poor experience & excessive waiting times at the Stockton Heath restaurant. I took my family out for breakfast and we had a 40 minute wait time before we received some basic hot drinks and a further 40 minutes for our food.
My meal was nice but they got my wife’s order wrong and didn’t provide any suitable explanation why her breakfast wrap didn’t have the items it should and had other items in instead..
After waiting further we were advised that our bill would be ‘adjudicated’ for the excessive wait and inconvenience caused. However, when I went to settle up only the drinks had been removed, and the service charge was still present..
I explained that was not really acceptable and I thought they needed to try a lot harder, I was met with “sorry we’re understaffed today” and the full price food bill.
We regularly eat at Tomahawk for steak & burgers but unfortunately today was the last time we will eat there.
What a disappointment
What a disappointment. We waited, and waited, and waited for our starter. In all fairness, when it did eventually arrive, it wasn't too bad. Immediately after our plates from the starters were removed, our main course arrived. The steak was on the plate. The side orders were in a pot, and on a board with a mini skillet on top, on the same plate. We go for a meal to be served, not to have to circumnavigate an obstacle course to eat the food. The triple fried chips were greasy on the outside, and just soggy mush on the inside. The steak was so over seasoned. The seasoning totally overpowered the flavour of the meat. In fact there was no flavour to the steak at all. Also there was so much "paddy-wack" fat, even the steak knives couldn't get through it. Needless to say, virtually the whole meal was left. The server informed the manager of our concerns. He told her to offer us a free sweet each. We declined this, as we didn't intend having a sweet. There was no adjustment to our bill. The manager never came over to offer his own apology, for the poor quality of the meal. Please don't waste your hard earned money at the Nottingham Tomahawk restaurant.
The one on Newcastle Quayside is…
The one on Newcastle Quayside is brilliant. Great location and very attentive staff. Had the t-bone and it was perfectly cooked. Would visit again if return to Newcastle.
Can't believe some of the negative…
Can't believe some of the negative comments I've seen on the reviews you need to give a place a chance to work and learn we had a birthday party there the staff we're really welcoming and the food was hot and appetising my son and daughter-in-law enjoyed there steak my granddaughter enjoyed her Mac & cheese and her partner had chicken coujons I had the belly pork and all was cooked to how we wanted we also had a dessert we will deffo go again and we're podged when we finished thank you to all the staff especially Emily who served us and the lady I spoke to when I first went and she gave me a hug after your doing brilliant ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Poor experience
After booking a meal out to take my parents for Mothers Day, it was unforgettable to say the least. We were first welcomed, all semt well with a lovely atmosphere but then it went downhill shortly afterwards. The waiter came over and took our drinks order, to which we were given a bottle of tap water and the wait for the alcoholic drinks were 25 minutes. The waiter was already coming over to take our food order, we advised we would just like to take a minute with our drinks before we order but because they were taking a while we ordered our food. The starters were delicious, not a very good value for money but still tasty. The plates were taken away and we were waiting around 30 minutes for our main, I advised when I ordered that I had a nut allergy, it was good as they gave me a specific menu to look at. The food came out and I with the nut allergy, was provided the incorrect meal which can be very dangerous in circumstances. We were just about to eat, when the waiter came over and asked if we wanted any more drinks and we said yes. The food was bang average, the steaks were chewy and cheap and we would have had better at a Weatherspoons. In the meantime, we just had been given our drinks and another waitress has come over to ask if we want more having seen we all have full drinks. I understand human error but the waitresses just did not seem interested. We were 3/4 away through the meal before anyone came to ask us how the meals were, by then, the majority of the food had gone as we were talking and eating and not really paying attention to the quality of the meat. I advised the waitress the service we had received and stated it wasn’t acceptable when you are paying nearly £40 per meal. She then went over to the bar and discussed this with around 3 other members of staff in front of my view, not somewhere confidential which I thought was unprofessional. The manager was apologetic and is aware of all the above but we won’t be going back.
Booking Tomerhawk Nottingham
Contacted Nottingham Branch to book a table for Saturday 8 April to celebrate my sons 30 Birthday,
I spoke to representive, ask if I could book at table for 16 people @ 6.00pm
Reply sorry we don't do large numbers due to the dumb waiter system I then ask him if I could book 1 x table for 8 @ 5.45pm & 1 x table 8 at 6.00pm but seated close so we could celebrate, issue was food coming out.
Has I said this is not a problem due to working in the Catering / Hospitality Industry since I left school many years ago
The answer was still no.
It seems that Tomerhawk Nottingham
Have that much business they don't want mine !!
I then rang Bar & Block Steak House spoke to customer service representative called Harry, who was very accommodating, table booked, due to numbers we are going to submit our starters & mains to help
My customer experience is zero for Tomerhawk
Nothing special
The venue and customer service were great. The food, you could have easily recreated this at home or gone to a local pub for less than half the price. I had the standard rump as it’s one of the leanest cuts, my friend had the wagyu option (£10 extra). Surprisingly mine turned out to be a far better steak, also the sides were nice but incredibly overpriced.
Would I go again? Probably not
Disappointing
We arrived at the Nottingham Tomahawk seated and asked if we wanted water we said yes, no water came, we asked three times before any turned up! When the food arrived after an hour it was lovely. Very cold we were freezing asked for air con to be turned up. Not the greatest service all very slow. However, friendly staff and lovely food after an hour of waiting and it wasn’t that busy. Wouldn’t rush back as wasn’t cheap either.
Overpriced and very average food
Overpriced and very average food. I visited the york restaurant. I would seriously avoid.
Below Average
My wife and I visited the Stockton Heath steakhouse for an evening meal. ( 1800hrs)
We had the Sharing board ( £74.95p)
Plates were stone cold as was ALL the steaks!
Sweets were good , service was good.
Very disappointed with the food. I suppose I expected more, but basically it is not a fine dining experience. Just run of the mill.
Not a patch on Gauchos.
Spent £120 in total, definitely not worth the money and we would not go again, nor would we recommend it
Don't bother
Id'd a 28 year old and would serve because he had no id. Turned down 17 people pre ordered meals because of stuborness.... absolute joke! Well, thousands lost! And it was your loss. Oh well, Ala turka didn't seem to minds 🤣🤣👍. Thanks for nothing
Disappointed
The cocktails tasted watered down, although the sauvignon blanc was good.
The 2 steaks we ordered had been cooked incorrectly- one was redone so fair enough.
The plant based burger was too dry to eat- it's a steak restaurant so again fair enough.
Slow service and honestly I feel it is over priced- the chips were ok if you like soggy chips but the vegetables- mushrooms with tomatoes and brocoli were not very nice.
We went as a treat for 2 of our party were celebrating birthdays and we'd walked past a few times and were intrigued...
Wouldn't recommend and wouldn't go again sadly
I visited Stockton heath on sun day and…
I visited Stockton heath on sun day and I must say it’s the worst experience of my life. I ordered the chicken starter off the lunch menu and I have had food poisoning. Customer service from staff was disgraceful. I have pictures of undercooked food
Shocking service bad attitude of staff
Shocking service bad attitude of staff. We ordered off the lunch menu our bill should of been around £80 we were charged over £170 because we didn’t have the puddings, would of been nice if they had informed us of that strange policy as it saves them money us not taking them. We were far to full as we had multiple sides! Service was extremely slow. We booked our table an arrived to be offered a very small table for two even tho we were a party of 3. Then we were put in the bar not the restaurant on a small cramped table. Bad attitude from one of the waitresses throughout. Wasn’t very clean. Steaks were tough really sad experience.
Delicious
Had a meal at tomahawk first time we've ever been and it certainly won't be the last, the food was delicious. Our waitress Lucy couldn't have been more helpful she was really lovely and nothing was too much trouble for her she's a credit to your company.
My only complaint is why are companies like yours now adding on a service charge, I really don't like this, if I have had great service I will choose to tip the server and I will choose the amount that I want to tip the server, I really don't like to be dictated to this way.
Excellent food and Service
I've been to Tomahawk in York multiple times, for Dinner/Steak and Sunday Lunch. Every time the food and service have been exceptional.
My Sister had been to the Tomahawk in Stockton Heath and said it was dreadful, I insisted on taking her to the York restaurant and she said that it was infinitely better than the Stockton Heath restaurant.
I'm off to book my first Sunday Roast of 2023!
IVE HAD BETTER MEALS AND SERVICE AT WETHERSPOONS.
IVE HAD BETTER MEALS AND SERVICE AT WETHERSPOONS! Review button has been removed from facebook..
The service was terrible! Food was served cold, it tasted bland and was so inconsistent with flavours, steak tasted like the grill hadn't been cleaned and not one cut of meat was cooked correctly!
Waited 1.5 hours for food to arrive and things missing when served! Took them soo long to rectify we had already eaten most of the food by the time they eventually fixed the problem!
Lengthy wait times for overpriced drinks and food, the place wasn't even busy! Also drink threw across the table covering our whole party when being served!
Management take no accountability what so ever and just send the waiters to do the dirty work while they all sit, chat and drink wine at the front of the restaurant Avoid at all costs!!!
