Disappointed by hard selling during 2-day property workshop
I attended Touchstone Education’s two-day property workshop and unfortunately came away very disappointed.
I rarely write reviews, but I felt it was important to share my experience so others can make an informed decision.
There were a couple of positive elements. Abi Hookway in particular came across as sincere in her desire to help people, and there were a few speakers such as Dan Thomas who were engaging and inspirational. The wealth appraisal that attendees complete beforehand is also quite detailed and could be useful if used properly.
However, the overall experience was overshadowed by the heavy focus on selling places on the Wealth Academy. The quality of the training felt uneven, particularly on the second day, where a significant portion of the time appeared to shift toward filling the limited number of academy places (we were told there were 49 available) rather than delivering practical training.
We were also told that attendees who chose not to join the academy would leave with a clear wealth plan. In my case that didn’t really materialise.
The sales approach during the workshop — particularly on day two — was the most disappointing part. The “success executive” conversations felt extremely pushy and were based on assumptions about my circumstances rather than genuine understanding. For example, I was told that if I didn’t commit immediately then I probably never would, and that I would likely prioritize holidays or work commitments. These are very broad assumptions to make about someone you’ve just met.
This was particularly surprising given that the wealth appraisal we completed beforehand contains a lot of personal and financial context that could have informed a more meaningful conversation. It did not appear that my success executive had actually reviewed it.
Another small point: during the workshop Abi mentioned that attendees would receive a CPD certificate for completing the two-day training, but I have not received anything since.
Given that the programme being promoted costs around £15,000, I would have expected a much more consultative and less pressured approach. Unfortunately the strong sales focus overshadowed the more positive parts of the event.
Overall I found the experience disappointing and would have preferred a workshop focused more on education and less on selling.

The purpose of the two-day Wealth Through Property event is to introduce a range of property strategies, provide education, and help attendees explore what the next steps in their journey could look like.
As part of this, we also explain the Wealth Academy for those who want structured mentorship, coaching and ongoing support. This is presented as an option, and while places are limited, the decision to join is entirely down to each individual attendee.
Throughout the event, Abi and other coaches with decades of experience contribute live sessions, sharing their knowledge and experience directly with attendees. We also include real student success stories to demonstrate what is possible when people apply the strategies and support available through the Academy. The aim is to give attendees both insight and inspiration so they can decide what path is right for them.
The Wealth Appraisal is designed to help start a conversation around goals, resources and direction. While these discussions are necessarily brief during a busy live event, they are intended to help attendees reflect on the opportunities available to them rather than make assumptions about personal circumstances.
With regard to the CPD certificate mentioned during the workshop, these are processed externally and attendees typically receive them within 3–6 weeks after the event.

Yesterday I had a 1:1 session with a lovely coach called Clare who absolutely met me with so much compassion and left me feeling like she heard everything I said and guided me forward on my journey to suit my current needs .

This is funnel marketing at its best
This is funnel marketing at its best. I was drawn in by Abi Hookways famous one liners making it sound so easy to get where’s she’s at!? But the real draw for me was the promise of the real entrepreneur Paul Smith, you get both these characters on the initial free chat but it’s just a carrot dangler to pay for the ‘two day intense course’ £99, where you’re promised intense marketing strategies and golden nuggets of information to guide you through to success. Nope. Abi was on the course for around an hour no sign of Paul just a pre recorded advert from him on his yacht. Unfortunately. what you actually get is two full days of other people’s success stories all pushing you through to the next part and wow this is expensive.. £16k gets you a year of help, which you are pushed for the whole two days to sign up to!? All by advisors I’ve never heard of before? Why would I hand 16k over on a link!? Nothing is pre qualified personally and nothing is promised!? I was banned and thrown off the course because I innocently asked ‘in the chat box’ ‘for everyone to see’ when we were getting on with the two days I had paid for!? I’m assuming this happened because every other poor brain washed soul had got to the same point as me and touchstone didn’t want anyone or anything stopping them from pressing that 16k link?? I was treated like poo on their shoe after I made that comment and felt like some kind of naughty school child that was kicked out of school. What does this tell you …!? Never again will I fall for this! Please beware!?

The 2-day Wealth Through Property event is designed as an introductory training where attendees are introduced to a range of property strategies, real case studies, and the journeys of people who have implemented them. Many participants find value in hearing these experiences because they demonstrate how the strategies can work in practice.
When messages begin to disrupt the flow of the session or the learning experience for the wider audience, moderators may step in and remove participants to allow the event to continue for the people who are there to focus and learn.
Abi and other coaches with decades of experience are live throughout the event, guiding participants in real time. We also showcase student success stories to highlight what’s possible with the Academy.
Regarding the Academy programme mentioned during the event, this is entirely optional and is presented for those who want ongoing education, mentoring, and structured support. Many attendees simply attend the 2-day event for the learning and choose not to continue further.
