I’ve been trying to ensure my business insurance is correct and up to date.
I’ve called and given details. The call taker was vague and came across as inexperienced. I waited a week and heard nothing so called back. They wanted to know again about the changes which suggested they are not effectively on the case. An update with a change came but it wasn’t as I wanted so replied and again I sit and wait. Now concerned my business is incorrectly with correct insurance cover.
Unfortunately I find this organisation like many other organisations and rather shoddy and disconnected from client consideration.
I shall continue elsewhere

One star is too much. Supposed to be specialist insurers they are so inexperienced at even collating your info or understand anything when I took out policy in June 2023. Rang a year later June 24, to say definitely don’t want to renew this year. The woman tried to put me through to a cancellation team which is chargeable for a cancellation. I confirmed that I don’t want to renew the policy that’s all, not cancel! So a year later still useless!
Looking to change my French holiday home and insurance to towergate was a miserable event. Contacted them in April re a quote but did inform that the policy was not required until July, after three weeks a quote arrived which seemed a good price. I had informed Towergate about the July date and they said when I needed the policy to just inform them and they would update the quote. So two weeks before I needed the policy, I called them and the polite response was that the person (new business) to deal with this was on a break and would call me back in 10-15 minutes. Two days later still no contact, so I called again, again the correct person was not available but would call me back. No response so a couple of days later I called again, same polite response on another call but they would put a message on their desk to ensure that a call back would occur, but five days later no call back and I had to place the business back in France.
A very poor performance by Towergate, if this is normal I ( retired company director) would think that their business must be regularly affected by this lax behaviour and that there are lots of lost business opportunities.

After being a client for several years without claim, the need to claim arose, unfortunately - A legal claim for which we had cover. The claim was submitted to the underwriter as required and evaluated as valid. A period of several months have elapsed with no movement on the case, the underwriter keeps saying that the approved solicitors would make contact... Now the time has come for a renewal of the policy and Towergate propose a different underwriter. The question arises, what happens to the existing claim pending with the present underwriter? When I call a Towergate advisor, the answer I get is to contact the underwriter. The Towergate advisor could not tell me whether I would enjoy continuity with the pending claim. This is quite concerning, as a customer and claimant I would like to know from Towergate, who sell me the product, what I can expect regarding continuity from one underwriter to another. Hence I am rather disappointed at the lack of after sales support.
My message to Towergate team is: Please ensure your consultants/advisors know the technicalities and how it affects a customer when proposing products which result in switching products and underwriters, in particular when a claim is pending with one underwriter and a new underwriter is proposed for the renewal.

Having used Towergate for many years, I cancelled my policy today, after renewing earlier this month, albeit the premium had risen immensely. I spoke to many advisers before they finally got everything right in regard to a small change and consequently was uninsured for a few days. Underwriters were apparently to blame and then the final straw, despite chasing up, I never received my revised policy documents. My new insurers sent everything through same day and were cheaper.

This company not unlike many others go to great lengths to get your business providing on-line forms to sign up and pay, but if you wish to cancel a policy for following years that is when the trouble begins, they simply forge ahead without permission with a renewal there are no cancellation forms on their website, they are really bad at responding to emails requesting cancellation on their contact us form, to date out of two emails sent none have been responded to other than the confirmation that they have received my email and supposedly will be in contact in an hour.

As said over complicated to cancel a policy! Instead of myself complaining a simple cancellation form within your dashboard would be easier, would save a load of administration and me having to complain about it! A simple drop down say why I am cancelling etc.
Mind you saying all that, if support actually responded to emails then that would be OK too?
In answer to your message: I received an email from trust pilot found form and replied with details requested still have not received an email from support confirming cancellation.
