I am Psychotherapist who has used Towergate for many years.
They are without question the worst business I have ever dealt with. The degree to which they ignore, refuse and reject communications is shocking. This year they attempted to charge me 3 times the going rate for insurance and have played games continually when asked what the premium is for. I have passed from person to person and treated appallingly. Today I decided to raise a complaint with the FSA and the Ombudsman regarding their attempts in forcing me to renew without engaging my complaint. I have still yet to hear from a manager despite asking to escalate a complaint in July. My strong advice to anyone is to stay far away from this insurer.

They are always polite, friendly and compassionate in times of worry.
I will never go anywhere else and always recommend Towergate to my Family and Friends!

I had a problem with renewing my landlords insurance. I spoke to four different people, each of whom promised to get back to me. None of them got back. I gave up in the end and went elsewhere. I will also be going elsewhere when my other policies with them run out. I would at least have expected them to get back to me and explain what the problem is. Appalling service. I will definitely not be recommending them to anyone.

Put information in to get quote online. After giving all info required (inside leg measurement.... not quite but seemed like it), system was unable to provide a quote. Was then rung by company. Said he would get quote. While waiting, ... press button 1 for this.... voice came up... next person who answered had no clue about call or information provided. Waste of time.... but good found out about 1* reviews before wasting more time
Had business insurance with them for a year but they have spammed me relentlessly for a renewal. Phone, email, text relentlessly for two weeks! Honestly no company has harassed me so much! Crazy thing I would have renewed but zero chance now.
Leah is a very helpful lady and made my house insurance so much easier than I was expecting. She called me back when necessary and ran me through queries - I'm very impressed.

We have two holiday lets insured with Towergate. Without any communication Towergate cancelled the insurance renewal on one of the lets. While I understand their product rules changed and our property didn’t fit they did this with zero communication. To make matters worse they then said they had communicated, they finally accepted they hadn’t and then tried to say it wasn’t their fault! ‘It’s a technical fault, the email is sitting here not sent’!! If I hadn’t rung up we would have had no insurance. Instead of finding us another insurer and product and providing options they then said ‘new business will call today’ …obviously they haven’t! We have been with them for over 10 years but it’s clear that they don’t care at all. Very disappointing. We pay Towergate as a broker to find cover not to cancel without telling us when it proves slightly problematic.

I have used them for 7 years but in the last couple of years the service is very poor, no responce to emails, was told they couldn't insure an empty property, the Web site says different. I had 2 policies with them and was looking to open a third, all 3 now moving to new provider.

I feel i can rely on Towergate to fix me up with insurance. My property is within about one third of mile of one of the fenland drains and so water is always an issue with insurance. Staff always have time to discuss one's needs. I made a hash of payi g by card over phone but Luke helped me get there in the end

Phoned on number given to renew policy. Choose the payment option and waited whilst listening to music, offered a callback but choose to wait, then the line went quiet. Second call same thing after a longer wait, then again and waited until I spoke to a polite agent.
Having worked in contact centres I know someone was cheating the system to reduce the "Calls Waiting."
Remember some clients have knowledge of the systems so don't cheat. Allow me to wait and if you want to improve your "call handling" increase your agents.

Absolutely useless! Waited about 10 working days for a buildings insurance quote on our vacant property whilst we’re selling it. I made multiple phone calls and they kept saying referred to under writers and kept asking me the same question and saying we’ll get back to you, but they never did. On the day I needed cover quest what, it was still with the under writers! I gave up, went online, made a quick call and got the policy I needed within 20 minutes!! Avoid Towergate. Useless, inefficient and time wasters!
