I've had a Yaris Cross self charging hybrid for two and a half years now. The tiny 12v battery won't hold a charge for more than two days without locking me out and needing the AA. I am now par... See more

Warning about Toyota Assist service
Writing this review to warn other Toyota owners. Following an accident Toyota Assist gets in touch to 'assist' you. This is very misleading. What they do not say is that the assistance is merely passing you to a third party management company (Enterprise). Toyota is not interested if there are issues with the service they have passed you to whatsoever. The repair for a rear end shunt accident took 11 weeks to complete with delays due to ordering wrong parts etc. Gave feedback to Toyota who said 'We have no further involvement after we have sent the referral to them'
Toyota Warranty totally unacceptable
I previously owned a Toyota Aygo and was very happy with the car for over 8 years and had absolutely no problems with it. When I decided to get another car I purchased an 18 month old Toyota Aygo X in March 2025. I have had an issue with it already as the water washers are not working. As it is under warranty I have contacted Toyota but after several hours and a number of dealerships I've been unable to get any help whatsoever. This is a safety issue and it needs sorting quickly but Toyota are not interested in helping me. One dealership told me that warranty work doesn't pay whereas they are happy to service your car and sell you a service contract. The dealership I had the car serviced with is unable to help until mid February! This Toyota warranty is a completely unacceptable and I certainly won't purchase another Toyota.
One of the worst dealerships I’ve ever…
One of the worst dealerships I’ve ever used Weston’s super mare and north Bristol definitely do not recommend at all due to change my car this it’s definitely not going to be a Toyota
I bought a brand new all singing all…
I bought a brand new all singing all dancing brand new Toyota.
I got talked into having the PP option and talked into 2 lots of insurance one for tyres and one for minor bodywear issues!
I was assured I could ‘pop in”and these issues would be sorted out while I waited .
It was completely miss sold as I have tried to have wheel rims repaired and it was nothing like it was explained to me apparently there is an app with forms to fill
In and it is dealt separately with a very unsupported insurance company who never get back to you -the insurance is ‘INSURE THAT’
Then over the new year I had a fast puncture
I found this out by a friendly local tyre company who could not do it that day as they were finishing early for New Year’s Eve !
When I went to Toyota they would not even look at the tyre or give me a pressure reading!
Anyway waited all day until 3.30 For a call back but this did not happen so as jhad a hospital appointment on the following Monday which I could not miss and I need my car as I live alone and at 74 with ongoing health conditions am very dependent on my car .
Wythall tyre had my tyre in stock -Toyota did not have the tyre if I could get in !
Had my tyre replaced in under an hour with pleasant engineers who said I must claim the costs back from the insurance !!
That’s a joke -back to waiting for a call from the insurance company-apparently there is an app which was never explained any of this when buying it -if they don’t pay I will cancel the payments-that have already had 17! Months money for nothing !!!
This dealership is the Solihull one on the Stratford road!Beware of what you are buying just a waste of money !
Don’t trust Toyota’s warranty
My Toyota is a 23 plate non plug in hybrid with approximately 30k odo.
They say there’s a warranty on their hybrid vehicles battery. But to claim this I would have to get the battery to them.
This would require getting the breakdown service (battery will not hold charge) back to restart my car so I can get to my nearest Toyota garage (30-40 miles round trip) then leave the car/battery there to be checked (to ensure the battery doesn’t have charge) & return the following day to collect.
Also just to note that my husband also has a hybrid Toyota (20 plate 45k odo) & has had 3 battery replacements.
Bought a 2023 Toyota Tundra Truck
Bought a 2023 Toyota Tundra Truck. Various small problems fit and finish. Then on a service call in 2025 told my engine would fail due to main bearing problems known but hidden by Toyota for over a year ( I was told previously my engine was not affected by the dealer). Requested Lemon law but denied by Toyota saying they have to try to fix it three times. Told to replace engine would be over a year by dealer and it could fail at any time. If failed still would take a year to replace. Letter from Toyota said gather history of repairs and service but web site referred to had no link to send documents. No link on Toyota letters or address to send documentation. Then I was quickly sent a denial letter in less than 30 days. I am a 72 year old man, on oxygen, who lives in a semi rural area and cannot be stranded somewhere. Toyota said too bad. Dealer said they could work out a deal on a new vehicle and Toyota would help as the value of the truck was plummeting due to engine failures. Once at dealer they hemmed and hawed saying Toyota was now not willing to deal or kick in money. Dirty dealing from start to finish. Got some trade in value from an engine failing truck to purchase a different vehicle from the dealer, no Toyota help in devaluation. Toyota does not stand by its product, deceptive and is uncaring. This was a unexpected financial hardship on me. Toyota case # 251013001272.
Suggest federal government take a close look into Toyota and their swindle of a senior citizen.
Toyota UK AWFUL. DEFECTIVE CARS.
Toyota dealerships in England are not only selling Toyota cars with manufacturing defects but also fails customers miserably by refusing, return, refunds and reasonings that faults are not covered by warranty despite the fact that cars have faults since purchase. Absolutely awful in UK, Toyota manufacturing should take note of this. I was sold a bz4x in London. Within 1000miles of purchase a knocking sound starts coming from suspension every time car goes over a road bump. Went back to dealership a few times, their responses they can't find the fault however car is good for the road and I can take it away. What? Will I have to be punished and have to live with it? Absolutely awful!! The air conditioning went away before end of 4th month....a brand new car for God's sake !!! Brakes developed some gap and make strange rattle and squeaky sound after just 6 months, this is passed aside referring to usual wear and tear, Toyota and it's dealers perhaps think people are stupid and have never purchased a new car in li ee so whatever candy they give us we have to say thank you and smile. I'm pissed with the extortionate amount of money involved not only in purchase but also for repair parts and the car sold with factory check failed & manufacturing faults and further trying to f*!k and hurt me by asked more money to fix faults. They sell parts at 5 times more than what market offers too. A car is one of the biggest buys or commitments in life and Toyota is killing it's business with bad manufacturing and failing to take care of after sale issues...,.real bad experience with TOYOTA in UK. I have other issues of quality and performance too with car but leave those out as minor issues for now, but those shouldn't have been there in new cars anyway. Bosses of dealerships hiding away far in offices figuring out how to make more money even after sales and interns are put in face of clients to face the heat and not knowing what to do with all the complaints coming in every day. I guess will have to go digital, make a forum, gather round people with complaints and sue Toyota UK.
Shocking Customer Care
There customer care thinks it is acceptable to charge over a £1000 for a repair then 2 days later it breaks down again with same fault ask for a further £2200, this is from the so called experts,
I own a 2017 Toyota C-HR
I own a 2017 Toyota C-HR, which I purchased last year as a second owner, and I can honestly say I am extremely impressed with this car.
After more than a year of ownership, it continues to exceed my expectations. The performance, features, comfort, and overall driving experience are outstanding. It feels reliable, smooth, and enjoyable every time I drive it.
This car proves Toyota’s quality and engineering at its best. I genuinely struggle to put into words how satisfied I am with this model.
Thank you, Toyota, for creating such an excellent vehicle!
?????disappointed
?????? Disappointed ??????????.....4 months waiting for a car only to be told that it's not going to turn up..held onto my deposit and I had to ask for it back ...worse than that was offered a brand new car for the same money a month...refused because of the depreciation...I suggested a cheaper 2nd hand car with more miles on the clock and of a lesser value that the new car they had offered me ...they wanted an extra 600 quid deposit with just under 100 pound extra a month on the pcp.....poor show when I was brought in on the assumption that they would do all they can to rectify the poor service they have shown me ???????????
In response to your reply ...I was in on sat discussing the situation i dont think it would be hard to find the problem you found me easy enough on sat with only my name when you wanted to sell me a car ....why is it so difficult now...you already have my bank , personall details and mobile...and email...ridiculous response...

Customer Disservice
Review refers to SLM Toyota in Attleborough. Service Advisor "Andy" was rude to me when I asked for details of the planned work on my car, when I queried the time estimated for the repairs he asked me "do you want us to fix your car or not". When I asked him his position (job title) he replied with "general dogs body". When I asked for his name he said "Mickey Mouse". This rates as Disservice and has reminded me of the reason why I stopped having my car serviced there.
I found the Toyota service disappointing
I found the Toyota service website to be the greatest work of fiction since Charles Dickens. I bought a used Toyota from the RRG group in North West England and they assured me the car had been fully serviced and safety checked by one of their dealerships, and they referred me to the Toyota website that confirmed the car had been fully serviced. I was a bit suspicious, so I asked my local garage to inspect the car. They confirmed that the oil was dirty, the air filter was dirty, and the A/C filter was dirty (photos available). Also, the spare wheel was under- inflated and the rear brake drums were dusty (which suggested to me the rear brake drum slave cylinders had not been inspected for leaks). I wrote to RRG and they stated, as far as they were concerned, the car had been fully serviced and that was the end of it. I will never trust the Toyota website or the Toyota dealer again, and I will not be having my car serviced by a Toyota dealer if this is the standard of their service.
Prospective Buyers need to be aware
Toyota Corolla Hybrid. Prospective Buyers need to be made aware of just how bad this car is. According to Toyota UK, 'If the vehicle is left unused for extended periods, the battery may discharge to a level where the hybrid system cannot start.' Further questioning reveals that for Toyota an extended period is defined as FIVE DAYS. So if you go away for a week's holiday there is a very good chance that the car will not start! They recommend 'running the vehicle for about 1 hour once or twice a week.'
The redeeming feature of this car is it's economy but this is mitigated by the need to make constant unnecessary journeys just to keep the battery charged and one further comment. Because of the transmission system used in this car, 'bump starting' is not an option
Do not get finance via Toyota Finance
I finished my PCP finance with current car, and final/balloon payment had to be made, which i then paid only half of it, and the rest i did finance. Again, i used toyota finance. when i called toyota finance they have told me that there will be a new agreement, and the finance will move from pcp to hp finance because since they will take the full payment via finance there will be no final payment left for me to pay. after a week or so, i logged in to mytoyotafinance web page, and saw everything is updated but the finance type appears as PCP still. i also received a letter from toyota stating that my finance is HP finance. there are two scenarios here. 1- i have currently two active finance which will mess up my credit score completely. Potentially i will also be responsible to pay balloon payment in one go 2- they simply messed it up. they either sent me wrong letter and told me incorrect information via phone call, or they did not update the website. when i email then back and forth, they are being extremely unprofessional and telling me that all the information i see on website is correct. however, they cannot answer why i received a letter with hp finance. i then asked to get voice recordings as this is my right via gdpr, however they then asked me some securit questions which i answered and then told me to raise it again with complaints team, while i am talking with complaints team. this is extremely unprofessional and totally damaging the brand. There is also a potential miscalculation on the finance, as you will get different percentage depending of the finance you go with. Toyota is my childhoold dream manufacturer, and i always had toyota cars. Toyota Finance is a great example how to ruin reputation of a brand and lose customers. I have shared my experience with some newsletters and car groups as well. If i do not get response for my GDPR requests, i will then reach out to legal authorities and take legal actions against it.
Toyota Guildford, KIngston or Croydon never answer the phone
Toyota is an amazing, engineering led brand, badly let down by dealers that never answer the phone.
Tried three Toyota main dealers round south London today, none of them aswered the phone.
Do not lease any vehicle from Toyota UK
I leased an Aygo X vehicle from Toyota UK in Dec 2022, and setup a DD for the monthly premiums. On 1 occasion out of 36, the DD was apparently bounced which I was not aware of it. Toyota Finance did not re-present the DD after 2 weeks and contacted me 9 months later for the missed payment, but in the meantime they filed it as a non-payment which had impacted my credit file. I spoke with their admin to resolve the issue but they were extremely unhelpful. When it came to returning the car after 36 months, their so called independent inspector! mentioned a couple of very minor paint spots which were very minor and were not visible with the naked eyes. The inspector was referring to those spots as dent! Which they were not! Basically he was expecting the car to be returned as perfect as day one! after 36 months! All other leasing companies I had dealt with in the past would consider such minor issues as wear and tear, but the inspector said I would be charged for two extremely minor issues!
The other issue was that shortly after I leased the Augo X, Toyota reduced the monthly premiums of the same vehicle by £100 a month for their new customers but not for existing customers! Again I called Toyota and I hit the brick wall again, they were extremely unhelpful and did not consider any discount. So I have been overcharged by £100 a month for neatly 36 months!!! On return day they made me wait for 8 hours for the inspector to come and for the pick up truck to take the car. As their ex-customer, I would never lease any vehicle from Toyota UK again and I would never recommend it to anyone!!!
Good and Bad
A mechanic once said to me "you can't go wrong with a Toyota". I've had two now, both secondhand, and so far he's been proved right, they've been very reliable cars. Before I retired I was also an occasional visitor to their HQ office near Epsom, which is a lovely site and the people I dealt with there were all nice. I was shocked therefore at the rude service I received at the dealership in Croydon when I took the car in with a minor query. Maybe I was just unlucky but it's left a nasty taste, and I'll never use that dealership again.
Never sign up with Toyota Financial…
Never sign up with Toyota Financial Services for any financing help, as customer service is very difficult to get hold of, complaint not dealt with and try and avoid getting involved in anything that looks like effort. Might as well talk to your cat for all the use they are. They are so bad they even have their own trustpilot site Toyotafinancials pretty much all reviews are 1 star. So highly recommend not getting your car finance via Toyota Financial Services.
First and second impressions not good
We recently received a Product recall for our BZ4X for the HVAC. We called our local S E Kings Lynn, and they managed to get it booked in the same week. We took the vehicle and dropped it off, we got to 4pm and received a call to say they hadn't got time to look at our vehicle. It was then rebooked in for one week later and as we had been inconvenienced they were going to collect and deliver the vehicle back FOC. About 430pm the night before it was due to be collected we received a call and they advised that they needed to cancel the booking as the part was found to be not to satisfactory standard, strange why this wasn't picked up a week earlier when the part would have been checked. They have now escalated to Toyota UK but we're unable to advise whether we would be looking at days or weeks before it could be looked at. This is our first impression of SE service and not a good one. Yhe recall was for an issue which could be affected by cold weather.
Very good customer service at toyota…
