Poor Customer service
I purchased a one way ferry ticket from Santa Stephano to Giglio on this online service for July 17 for almost 18 euros.
My flight from the US was cancelled so I arrived a day later only to find out my ticket would not be honored at the ticket office there, and I needed to buy a new ticket. The agent there gave me a number to call to see if anything could be done - I tried the website instead since I don't speak Italian.
I was told that I was unable to get a refund, or, even worse, not even a voucher for another ferry ride.
The email exchange consisted of them telling me over and over I missed the ferry. I know I missed the ferry! Any good business would have honored the ticket with either a refund or a voucher for another ferry ride.
Buy your ticket in person - don't use these online services!
And guess what - airlines ARE understanding when this happens and works with the customer to rebook or use the ticket for future travel!

We understand your disappointment, but the rules you refer to are not set by TraghettiPer, nor by the website on which you made your booking. These rules are set by the shipping company from which you purchased your ticket, regardless of where you purchased it. We have no choice but to comply with them.
The ticket was for a specific date/time, and since you did not show up, you lost the right to use it. It would have been sufficient to request a change before the date/time of travel.
Ferries operate like airlines and most tourist services: in the event of a “no show,” no refunds are provided.
We are sorry for the problem you have encountered, but TraghettiPer acts as an intermediary and cannot bear the cost of a refund in your favor unless it is recognized by the shipping company.

Easy to book tickets online but it wasn't clear if booking at a certain time meant that one could take another ferry that day or if one could only take it at the time booked. Anyway, easy to book at the port of Santo Stefano too. The boat itself is basic but comfortable enough, especially if you are able to sit in the air-conditioned room on the ground floor!

However, the tickets were sent to you on 2024-06-22 at 08:10:06 (10 minutes after you made the reservation) to the email address you entered during the reservation process. We can only assume that it ended up in your junk mail by mistake, over which we can have no control.
