We believe storytelling plays a pivotal role in education and in creating a more responsible future of travel within the conservation landscape. We seek to minimise the negative environmental and social impacts of travel while maximising its positive impacts. These articles keep our readers informed and inspired to join us in celebrating Africa and doing good. An incredible trip…

Christian and AG were incredibly helpful in helping me navigate planning and booking my first safari. Without an original clear direction of even what country to visit, Christian was easy to communicate with, very responsive, extremely knowledgeable and not afraid to give his opinion, which I valued. He was extremely patient with me as I navigated lots of different options and crafted a trip unique and personal to me and my partner. We had the most amazing time in Kenya visiting Mara Naboisho and Borana Conservancy. Both offered incredible but varied experiences which meant for a well rounded trip that we loved. Thank you Christian and AG for all the help.

Christian truly enjoyed crafting this safari experience with you, and planning a safari that brought together the wonders of the Mara ecosystem at Mara Naboisho Conservancy, and the critically endangered species of Borana Conservancy. What a fantastic adventure. We’re so glad that his guidance and insights created an incredible and well-rounded trip for you and your partner. Here’s to many more unforgettable safaris with AG!

Christian at AG was brilliant in…

Christian at AG was brilliant in arranging an amazing last minute Sabi Sands safari trip for two dear friends honeymoon. When I say last minute - it was within a week of travelling! Christian reacted and communicated clearly and very quickly. Not only did they have such a memorable time but the holiday also helps contribute to many of AG's campaigns, lion collaring and saving pangolins.
AG have booked several memorable trips for me in the past and I wouldn't hesitate in travelling with them again and recommending them.

Just had an amazing trip to Africa that AG put together for us based on a list of things that we wanted to see/do. They did it all and did an amazing job that exceeded our expectations all the way.
Four countries, three safaris, flights, transfers, guides and drivers, over 3.5 weeks and everything went to plan with no issues. Phenomenal job Christian, AG and team

Kenyan Safari Adventure

Day flight to Nairobi, one night there and light aircraft the next morning to Saruni Samburu. We were met at the airstrip and our Samburu tribesman driver was our guide on all trips from the camp, he was outstanding, incredibly knowledgeable on all the animals and especially the birds of which there are so many stunning varieties. The luxury camp was situated at the top of a rocky hill in the Kalama Conservancy, an adjacent waterhole and incredible views for miles around. After 3 nights we flew down to the Mara North Conservancy, stopping at other airstrips to drop off and pick up until our destination. The first game drive to our lodge, Saruni Mara Camp, is from the airstrip, it is tucked away in a secluded and wooded area along a long bumpy road! In the conservancy, safari vehicles are allowed off the tracks so we were able to get very close to so many beautiful animals, this is not the case in the Masai Mara Reserve itself and also there are strict rules which prevent too many vehicles being at one place at a time. We had many wonderful experiences there and the best were normally on the early morning trips, well worth getting up for! After 4 nights, light aircraft back to Nairobi, lunch in a beautiful garden restaurant near the Karen Blixen museum, night flight back to London.
Thank you Christian from AG for arranging, everything went like clockwork.

Namibia : Self Drive and Fly in Safari : John and Hettie Sterban

This was our 3rd African safari arranged by Africa Geographic. The meticulous planning and care taken by our consultant, Stefan Winterboer, came up to our expectations. Stefan kept close contact with us throughout the planning stage as well as during the journey itself. He was clearly concerned about our well being on a memorable if arduous expedition to celebrate our 60th anniversary. Excellent accommodation arrangements at Wilderness Safari venues (Doro Nawas and Serra Cafema) as well as at other venues (Okahandja Country Hotel, Spitzkoppe tented camp, Giardino Boutique Hotel, Swakopmund, Khowarib Lodge, Epupa Falls Lodge, OppiKoppie, Kamanjab). Stefan's agent in Swakopmund, Pepi Kern of Nature Travel Namibia, was most friendly and helpful. In short, another excellent Africa Geographic experience, with our thanks to Stefan and Pepi for their professional and friendly support.

This was my 5th Art Safari with Africa…

This was my 5th Art Safari with Africa Geo (AG). Another new venue with incredible views, Buffalo Ridge is run by the local tribes. Beautiful accommodation and very friendly staff.

Memorable sightings included a leopard on a hillside and a lioness on a large rock with her son and daughter below. Romance was in the air as we saw 2 pair of lions, a pair of giraffe and a pair of baboons mating.

My only small (personal) negative was the number of steps I had to navigate from the car park to the lodge but I managed to overcome this with the use of walking poles.

Christian and Nadia did a great job of organising the trip. Efficient bookings and transfers every time. Can’t wait to plan my next trip! 😄

Bundox Lodge, Walking safari and Madikwe

This was the 4th time I have done a trip with Africa Geographic and Christian in particular. As always it was a pleasure dealing with him. All the logistics were handled smoothly and efficiently and went according to plan. Bundox camp in Balule near Kruger was just perfect. Not too fancy but unique and quiet. Just how I like it. Harry, our guide there was one of the best ever. 4 days walking safari was the highlight of our two week trip, despite the desperate drought. We then went on to Buffalo Ridge in Madikwe. The lodge and staff could not have been bettered, though the drought was awful. Thank you Christian for your wonderful organisation which meant I didn't have to think about all the logistics. The use of Travel Key for the itinerary was a brilliant improvement on previous trips.

Good morning Jane - thank you for your wonderful words. We love the rustic nature of your chosen safari - there is nothing like walking in Big 5 country to enhance your senses and get to know Africa at a granular level. As you say, the Southern African landscape is suffering from years of poor rainfall - but this too shall pass, and wildlife and habitat will bounce back with renewed vigour and exuberance. Here's to your next African adventure with us!

Father and Son safari holiday.
First time traveling with AG, we (father and adult son) travelled to Chobe and Vic Falls and had a fantastic and well organized experience. All pre-trip organition with AG (Nadia) was fantastic and communication was smooth and aligned with our needs/expectations. All activities at Chobe (boat safari and game drives) were very enjoyable with very professional guides. All lodges were very nice with very competent and professional teams always ready to help.

Africa Geographic delivers dreams

Africa Geographic delivers dreams. We spent just over 3 weeks in Namibia, Botswana and Vic Falls this summer. Holidays like this don’t come around every summer for us so want it to be the absolute best it can be. Delivering the holiday of a lifetime starts with imagination and expert planning by someone who really knows where you are going and thoughtfully adds in all the little extras to make it more than just an ‘off the shelf’ holiday. Then requires warm, professional and highly skilled people on the ground to deliver on what expected, manage the unexpected, and bring a place to life. Also needs continued interest and follow-through from company should you need to be in touch once all paid for and actually happening. Africa Geographic, Christian, Joram and the many other people involved in making our dreams come true ticked all the boxes.

Christian Boix of Africa Geographic…

Christian Boix of Africa Geographic provided an exceptional travel experience from start to finish. He created a custom itinerary that perfectly matched our preferences, making all reservations and ensuring every detail was handled with precision. At each location, we were met with quality drivers from his partner companies, which made our travels seamless and enjoyable. Christian utilized new technology to deliver a fully offline itinerary for our phone, which was incredibly convenient. Throughout the trip, he was always available, promptly addressing any issues that arose and making us feel supported every step of the way. His dedication and attention to detail made our trip truly unforgettable.

African Wildlife experience over 3 weeks

Two lodges for 5 days each were booked for us by Nadia. Both excellent. Safari drives were morning and late afternoon every day for around 3 hours each drive. This meant we saw many different animals. A wonderful adventure. Nadia discussed with us beforehand our budget and what we really wanted to do on this holiday. All went smoothly and we’d love to do something similar again in the future.

UGANDA BIRDING TRIP

When we decided to plan a birding trip to Uganda in may this year I contacted Christian Boix of Africa Geographic to organise a two week road trip to the major "birding" hot spots.
The trip was a great success, seeing the amazing Shoe Bill and so many new and beautiful birds in various places and habitats it was hard to keep up! Brian, our Guide was exceptional, with so much knowledge, patience and enthusiasm as was our Driver/Guide Joel.
We also had a successful trek to see a troop of mountain Gorillas, always a thrill.
The trip was very well organised and well priced for South African visitors.
Christian has a vast knowledge of birding in Uganda and the country itself and his guidance and planning was much appreciated.
This is the third trip he has organised for me and I would consider using Africa Geographic for any future trips I might plan.

The perfect safari camp

As a conservation photographer, I spent months researching and looking for the perfect opportunity for a photo safari for myself and my husband. I found that with Africa Geographic! Christian Boix worked with me to arrange for a magical 8 days with Sentinel Mara Camp on the banks of the Mara River and was so helpful every step of the way. We wanted lots of animals and few people, and we found that in the peaceful and beautiful Mara Camp in the shoulder season. Everything was beautifully planned and executed and the camp itself was so perfect-- we can't wait to go back! We had our own excellent driver-guide, Benson, who was such a pleasure to get to know and to spend long days with in the Mara. As a wildlife photographer I like to spend long and patient hours watching the wildlife and waiting for interesting behaviors. We found a like-minded companion in Benson, who would put me in the perfect position for my photographs and always listened to my wishes. We shared our respect of the wildlife and the belief of good ethics as visitors to the animals’ habitat as well, and I was so impressed with his instincts for the animals' behavior and being able to predict their movements. I learned so much from him and was impressed with his professionalism. I am going through my thousands of photos from our incredible experiences from every day of our visit.

Back at camp, you can't ask for a more beautiful setting in a peaceful forest, literally just 2 minutes away from a sunrise view of giraffes, elephants, cheetah, buffalo, hippos, impala, topi, dikers, serval, vervet monkeys, baboons, and lions. That was all just in our “backyard"!

The camp is run entirely off of solar power and I appreciated all of the incredible details –– from a completely plastic free camp, to so many small comforts in the spacious tent, to our amazing helper Jon, who cleaned our tent impeccably every day while we were out, tailored our showers to exactly our preferred temperature, and made sure we had our coffee and biscuits at the early hour we needed them to get on the trail before sunrise. Every meal, whether a picnic on the road or an elegant dinner in camp, was delicious and we were impressed with every person’s attentiveness to our wishes and dietary restrictions. Adding to the camp magic was the constant presence of hippos in the river below us and the evening and morning serenade of hippos grunting and splashing.

Looking for a perfect safari experience? We can’t recommend Africa Geographic and Sentinel Mara Camp highly enough! (Note: we are also very impressed with the conservation work and community support that AG is doing!)
