Vodafone travel eSIM.
Totally useless.
20 GB Montenegro eSIM. Awfully slow 4G connection. After 2 hrs trying with custom service, no improvement.
Purchased a new eSIM form Airalo and instant fast connection. Well done Airalo.
Shame on you Vodafone.👎👎

Very disappointing experience – don’t buy online
I had a really bad experience with Vodafone and I want to warn others not to make the same mistake.
I bought a Vodafone SIM online before traveling, thinking I’d have internet as soon as I landed. I paid a lot of money for it. But when I arrived in Egypt, my wife bought a Vodafone SIM at the airport — and it was almost 3 times cheaper.
Even worse, the internet from the online SIM barely worked during my entire 7-day stay. I couldn’t properly use basic apps like YouTube, and overall it was almost useless.
I contacted Vodafone support, and they told me to manually change providers, which didn’t fix the problem. I also discovered the SIM had a Netherlands number, which is not helpful when you’re traveling in Egypt and expect a local connection.
The only good thing in this situation was that my wife had internet from her airport SIM, so I could at least stay connected through her.
I will give one star — but not to Vodafone. That star is for Trustpilot for allowing honest reviews like this.
My advice: don’t buy Vodafone SIMs online. Buy one at the airport — it’s cheaper and actually works.

Went to India, paid way more than the cost of a local sim, while Vodafone also has way worse coverage. So bad that I actually had to buy another sim. So this is just a waste of money

Couldn’t activate. Contacted Vodafone. Given a “no page found” website link. Or a local number. Fully chargeable to me to contact them about their worthless eSIM. Joke. Tried to get a refund. Won’t budge. DO NOT BUY THESE WORTHLESS ESIMS.
update: vodafone esim travel in response to this review got in contact to arrange a refund. They have now emailed that I update my review. My experience is: the esim didn't work, I was unable to resolve this via their chat service, I then emailed their esim travel service 3x and each time they refused to refund. only once i left a negative review on trust pilot was the refund activated and arrived promptly. perhaps this should have happened after my 1st contact and not the 5th...

The eSim is easy to load and activate, however didn’t work in Laos and Cambodia. When I contacted customer support all they would say is they’re working on it. They never resolved the problem. It did work well in Thailand and Vietnam. Vondafone didn’t offer any compensation or alternative for the network not working just a “sorry”. I wouldn’t recommend it for Asia.

I bought a Vodafone Travel eSIM on 22 March 2026 in Spain. I activated the eSIM and adjusted the settings as recommended in the Vodafone Travel app, but I have had no service since switching to it.
I exchanged several emails with the Vodafone Travel Support team. On 23 March at 15:54, they informed me that the issue had been escalated to their second-line technical team for further investigation, noting that the process typically takes 2–3 working days.
In my opinion, support for a product designed specifically for travellers should be much faster. While a 2–3 working day resolution time might be acceptable for everyday services, it is not suitable for something intended for use while travelling.

Bought esims for Europe, my main, and two companion plans. No set-up or connection issues for any, and constant data throughout France & UK except for one day when network was down in Paris affecting multiple data servers.
eSim was activated normally, but once I was in the country it is intended for, it was super slow to the point I can't even retrieve my gmails. I reached out to Vodafone immediately for support, they tried few options but nothing resolved the problem. they said they will escalate and I should hear back from them within 3 business days, but they never responded back.
Now after the end of my trip, I requested refund, but their response is that the card was activated and showed data moving (out of 10GB I purchased, I consumed less than 0.3GB due to slow to no connectivity) So their cards don't work in the countries they claim it works in.
Lesson learned for $27 to never use Vodafone again.

I used the Vodafone Travel eSIM on a recent trip to copenhagan and was genuinely impressed. Setup took just a few minutes, and I was online as soon as I landed. Coverage was strong throughout Europe, and speeds were consistently reliable.
What I appreciated most was the convenience—no hunting for local SIMs or worrying about roaming charges. For a trusted brand, this felt seamless and stress‑free. Worth it for peace of mind while travelling. Highly recommended!
Bought 3G data sim for Panama trip. It never worked. Waste of money.

The Vodafone app makes it really easy to buy and top up my plans. Activation made in a heartbeat.
I bought their eSIM for a trip to Southeast Asia, did not use the package for the whole block but one for each country (Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong). Activation was smooth, I always did the installation before departing and had full connectivity the minute I landed. I even had internet when I was travelling between islands, will definitely buy again
Esim not working in Egypt. Just activated it and thet say it expired. When we bought it they ssud we could activate it anytime within a year. Customer Service not helpfull at all. They jus want to sell more.

Really easy to download, and I had great signal even in remote places for my trip to Japan. Much better than the last company I used.
I bought an eSim and installed it in Portugal. I had a problem with it (user error) I contacted support by email in english, they got back to me within 5 minutes, and had me up and running right away. Quality of 5G service is very solid in Lisbon too, and a great price for 50gb of data monthly with a web site for easy top ups if needed. Dig it
Bought an eSIM from Vodafone for my holiday in Cairo and installed it on my iPhone17. I spent more than an hour to make it work, but it didn't. After some googling I found out that the Vodafone eSIM is not compatible with iPhone17. What? Not compatible with the newest iPhone? And no warning when you buy it? I've tried to get a refund. No luck - just a nonsense conversation with a robot. PS: Bought a Vodafone eSIM for the wife's iPhone 13 and it worked - like 50% of the time. Better try your luck with another eSIM provider.
On Jan 17th I received this from Vodafone:
"Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear about your experience.
To help us look into this further, could you please share your order ID? We’ll review your case and follow up via email—please keep an eye on your inbox.
We have sent you a request for information to check your details."
I haven't received any follow-up by email, though. Order ID is: 6950d2fa8e667378645ed555.

Update: The refund was received and the matter has now been resolved.
I purchased a Vodafone Travel eSIM at a premium price, expecting fast and reliable internet during my vacation.
Unfortunately, the service delivered very slow speeds (around 2–3 Mbps), making basic usage difficult. I contacted customer support immediately after purchase, not after days of usage.
Despite providing multiple speed test results and detailed explanations, I was told that a refund was not possible simply because the eSIM had been “used”, even though the usage was minimal and only for testing whether the service worked as advertised.
I was then asked to wait 2–3 business days for an investigation, which is not practical when you are on a short holiday. The support team was polite, but unable to provide a clear or timely solution.
Overall, the service did not meet reasonable expectations for a paid travel eSIM, and the lack of an effective resolution was disappointing. I would advise travelers to be cautious and consider alternatives.
