Almost a Scam Company – Stay Away!
This company should not be allowed anywhere. It’s basically a scam operation. They booked me with the wrong dates and then provided zero support. I spent hours on the phone only to be disconnected multiple times, and they never replied to my emails. In the end, I couldn’t even get a chargeback because my bank (BMO) turned out to be just as much of a joke. Absolutely horrible experience from start to finish. Stay far away from this company!
Waste of a 1st day of vacation
Waste of a 1st day of vacation. Headache / hassle to deal with. Never contacted me after saying they would. Your valuable time is better spent going direct: these amateurs have me spinning around outside the hotel I carefully selected & now I’m paying like $2 more for a worse location / amenities. Wish I’d spent the extra $15 direct.
Trivago a Scam For scammers
I found prestigia.com on Trivago I booked a 14 day stay 2/4/2026 to 2/18/2026 on Prestigia .com at The Chicago Hotel Collection and paid $609 and some change. When booking it stated that I would be paying $26.00 and change for taxes at the hotel due at check in. I Prestigia the same day to verify that it was for the whole stay and not per day and that was all that would be due. Prestigia confirmed it.
I was a bit conserved because of what I was seeing regarding prices at this hotel as I was searching for accommodation for some people who would like to travel to Chicago with me. I called the hotel directly and was told on my reservation that $at check in there was 41,937.00 and some change due or over 300% more then I was told I was paying. I canceled and Prestigia is supposed to refund the money to my card.
I have been traveling for 60 years and never saw a scam as disgusting as this one. Trivago markets Prestigia on there web site and in some way profits.
IF YOU LET YOUR NAME BE USED FOR A SCZM FOR YOUR PROFIT, YOUR A SCAM TRIVAGO!!!!!
This was the first booking I ever made using the Trivago web site. If a company markets on Trivago then they are a scam
Do not use Trivago
Do not use Trivago, their customer service does not exist. We booked through them to go to a concert which got rearranged to another date. We tried to contact trivago days before our original booking to rearrange. Their contact us service kept glitching, their phone service did not recognise numbers it requested you to enter, the online chat service did not help at all, and the email service eventually worked, only to get redirected to the actual company booked through. Trivago do NOT care about customer service and I did not manage to rearrange booking or even cancel. They did respond after the booking date passed and said cannot refund as the date had past. I had been in touch days before. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE. YOU DO NOT SAVE MONEY
DO NOT BOOK THROUGH TRIVAGO DEALS
DO NOT BOOK THROUGH TRIVAGO DEALS
We were left stranded, upon arriving at the hotel they told us the booking was cancelled. We contacted trivago deals and the level of support was shocking even though I paid extra for VIP support. It's been weeks and they are refusing to refund our money.
It's a scam company beware
I booked a room through Trivalgo
I booked a room through Trivalgo. I needed to change the reservation to a handicapped room. For nearly five days, I could not get in contact with anyone. During that time I'm found out that Trivalgo does notbdo the booking, but passes it on to one of hundreds of booking agencies. Trivalgo said I had to deal with that company. Finally after nearly five days, they said they cannot adjust the reservation. No reason was given. AND, BY THE WAY, MY RESERVATION COST WAS THE SAME AS MY BROTHER’S WHO BOOKED DIRECTLY WITH THE HOTEL! I amd disputing the charge and called the hotel directly to book the handicap room.
Terrible Refund Experience
Terrible Refund Experience
Booked via Trivago, redirected to Prestigia. Refund of €2501.10 is taking 15–20 business days—unacceptable and very stressful.
I booked a hotel room through Trivago…
I booked a hotel room through Trivago Deals days before my trip, only to arrive at the hotel and be told my reservation “couldn’t be found.” After hours of waiting and stress, I ended up paying for another room out of pocket. Later, another hotel staff member located my original reservation right away and admitted this happens often with one of their employees.
I immediately contacted Trivago for a refund for the room I was never given. To this day, I have received no refund and no resolution. I’ve sent multiple emails and called numerous times, but I either get no response or empty promises that someone will get back to me.
It’s incredibly frustrating to not only pay twice for the same night but also be completely ignored afterward. As a frequent traveler, I expected far better customer service and accountability. Instead, this experience has proven that Trivago is unreliable and unresponsive when issues arise.
I will not be booking through Trivago again, and I’d caution other travelers to think twice before trusting their services.
Never book through Trivagio. not worth the savings.
Booked through Trivagio 6 weeks in advance. Paid in full. Cost was minimally better than booking direct through hotel. I booked for 7 days. Emergency arose and I had to leave one day early. As their site states no refunds, they would not refund last night. In essence the 6 days cost more than had I booked directly with hotel. Furthermore, on arrival at hotel the booking was through a 3rd party Algotel; all my information was wrong except for my name and booking number. Never book through Trivagio! Hotel direct booking may be a little more, but it is more reliable.
Trivago is the worse
Trivago is the worse, I won't recommend it to Nobody. I have to cancel for a family emergency and they want me to violate HIPPA to show them proof of emergency. Lost my Money. Costumer service is terrible.
Most annoying advert.
The new advert makes me switch the channel. I cant stand the teeth. Did your competitors make that advert for you?
TRIVAGO SUCKS
TRIVAGO SUCKS. They advertise flights with prices for "stand by" seats...I went on Trivago site, and was redirected to FAREHUTZ. They had Filipino customer service (who I could barely understand) call me back to say the original fare of $226 was not available, and will now be $498! The ole BAIT & SWITCH! Very deceptive, and unethical. I have to call them now the day before my flight to get my boarding pass and seat number. Save the aggravation and book directly with the airline. I will next time for sure.
Worst company I have ever dealt with!
This company is the worse! I made a typo error and immediately called them. Was told sorry can’t help you but will send your request. Never heard back for 24 hours so called again. Was told I would have a return call or email with in 30 minutes. Sent 12 emails.. nothing. Talked with the hotel and was told their policy is 24 hours before check in. They very apologetic for my being mistreated by this company. Sent another email based on this conversation and no reply. Do not use this company or site. Might be cheaper but they are out to rip you off not assist you with your travels!!
They are the worst company that I’ve…
I would rate zero if I could. I booked a hotel in Toronto for 3 nights unfortunately Air Canada cancelled our flights due to labour disruption. I’ve been on the phone for 4 days trying to get hold of them but all I got was a machine recording that they got my message and will get back to me so I waited but to my dismay no one called me back. I was so desperate to talk to them so I found their email confirmation when they took my payment and emailed them, they emailed me back saying that someone will contact me within 24 hours time but till this time I never heard from them. They are the worst company that I ever dealt with and their customer service is terrible.
Best Jaceranda Hotel Tenerife
Best Jaceranda Hotel Tenerife
I am writing to you to express our disappointment in the all inclusive holiday we booked with you. The Gold drinks package we included was of no use when the barstaff charged me for drinks after 11pm plus JD which isn't included in premium drink package and with that being my drink ended up going out to bars for a drink. the pool that we used was closed off for 2 days. We come on holiday for a quiet, relaxing time only to listen to hydraulic hammers and building works all day every day with no notification because we would of DEFINITELY cancelled our booking. All in all, this holiday was a complete horror . And wouldn't recommend the hotel to anyone. We complained directly to the hotel over 2 weeks ago and they haven't had the decency to reply to our email.
Very Professional NOT
Just Awful.
Do Better!
Given that Trivago has lots of money to run ads on tv, you’d think they would use some of that money to keep their customers satisfied. While I understand that they are only the booking platform, the fact that they use scam companies like Algotel makes them equally at fault. I understand about some bookings being non-refundable, but when you have to cancel your trip due to travel advisories about wildfires and blocked roads, give me a break! Other companies were more than willing to reimburse us given the extraordinary circumstances. Do better!
Really ‘bot like’ customer service
Really ‘bot like’ customer service.
Wanted to add an extra day to my hotel stay. Wasted so much time going back and forth only to be told ‘no’. Went directly to the hotel and sorted.
Only book if you don’t need any support.
I'm sorry but they need some better…
I'm sorry but they need some better actors not some guy with big fake white dentures that are too big his mouth. Horrible commercial.
They don’t deserve a star!
They don’t deserve a star!! Wish I had did my research before booking thru Trivago! I feel as if they are part of the SCAM!!
My daughter booked a rental through Trivago that turned out to be completely false information! The place was shut down! She lost her money and when we contacted Trivago, they told us there was nothing they could do. How can they advertise listings on their site but take no responsibility when the listing is fake?
Trivago acts like they’re just a “search engine,” but they profit from these SCAMS while customers are left out of pocket. No refund, no accountability, no protection. Travelers BEWARE! If anything goes wrong, you are completely on your own!!
I would never recommend using Trivago to anyone.
