Underhand business tactics, borderline scam
I’ve given 2 stars, because I think the product may be ok (women’s health supplements) I’m not sure, and after ordering the first initial trial pack, I decided not to re-order for a while. However, this company seems to be one of those sneaky subscriptions ones - I very rarely sign up to subscriptions and hadn’t with this one. They sent me an email to let me know they were preparing “my next order”. I immediately wrote back to say that I wasn’t aware of any recurring subscription and to cancel this “order” with immediate effect. They wrote back encouraging me to stay and sent the order anyway, which arrived about two weeks’ later. I went on to PayPal and cancelled any mention of this company on my orders and requested a refund. I wrote to Velara and told them I would agree to send the unopened bottles back, but they said no….. in the end PayPal, sided with the company as they’d sent the items out. In the UK, this is against consumer law - you are not obliged to pay for unsolicited items randomly sent to you, but because this company is US based, it seems they can circumnavigate the law.
Be VERY VERY careful if you decide to order from this company - their supplements are expensive, probably not scientifically proven to work in the sense of a clinical trial (despite their claims) and they will deduct from any payment source details they have on you, which is all very concerning. I would be very cautious about any “try it free, if it doesn’t work for you, you will get a full refund” claims they make.
