Gotta love the overwhelming number of 5* reviews on here. If you're going to bot the numbers, at least make it realistic.

This company is a joke. They lure you in with the promise of income-based debt consolidation loans, but make no mistake: there is no loan, and their whole setup is a front to funnel you into a predatory debt management program. If you're unaware, this is where you allow the company to negotiate on your behalf with your creditors, but in the meantime you're supposed to stop all payments on your accounts so they have leverage with the lender, tanking your credit score and putting you at risk of lawsuits and wage garnishment.

And of course, they aren't doing this out of the goodness of their heart--the fine print (which the sales rep conveniently did not review during his presentation) states that they'll collect upwards of 28% of your total debt value for their services. Um, no thanks, I might as well stick with the snowball method at that rate.

The advisors are generally friendly and personable while they have you on the hook, but the moment you decide to pull back (even to ask for more time to think about it), they switch tack and get downright offensive with their sales tactics. They'll threaten you, shame you, tell you this is your only choice--"it's either this or bankruptcy!" Uh, no, I'm making my payments on time, I just wanted to speed up the payoff process a bit with a lower interest rate.

Oh, and I love that, in the days since our call, I'm suddenly getting dozens of scam emails from various so-called "lenders" with login links to my "portal". Thanks for selling my data!

Steer clear of Pennie, stay clear of debt management programs - nobody needs this.
