Simple PCP change took 6 weeks & too many calls
At this point, as a Medicare Advantage plan subscriber, I only have 2 choices where I live with my clinic. Tufts is the lesser of 2 evils, so to speak. I notified Tufts in December that my new enrollment in January would need a change of Primary Care Provider(PCP) due to my provider retiring. I received a letter dated Jan 5 that as of Jan 1, the change took effect. After many calls to my clinic, Tufts Health care, and a doctor I was trying to get a referral to since Jan 1, today after 6 weeks, Tufts finally updated my PCP. So today after 6 weeks and at least 25 calls, my doctor was finally able to make the referral. All along Tufts kept telling me it was all set. So now, maybe next week I will be able get an opportunity to try to get an appointment another month or two out. This is not acceptable! This is a time sensitive medical situation.
