I can't reccommend Dave highly enough. Dave has helped me enormously with Economics. He helped me to achieve an A* in August 2026 after I was struggling with Economics and getting Cs in my school tests as late as April 2025.
Dave's lessons are very structured with his termly lesson plans. He records our lessons means you can cover alot of topics but still refer back to them. He is very patient and makes sure to re-explain and breakdown topics time and time again until they are drilled into your memory. That's not to say there isn't flexibility! Dave was also happy to build on lessons and topics covered in school. Because he is so specialised in A Level economics, it is easy to bring up any topic if you need a refresher.
His experience as an examiner is invaluable as he knows how to mark your work and push you to achieve the top grades in the style of the exam board you study. There is always homework being set which I think is a fantastic opportunity that potential students can take to be given feedback every week on. This has really helped to boost my confidence in writing the longer essays as Dave gives constructive feedback to help you progress.
Dave is also very good at communicating with parents and students alike. He has a system where he allows his students to lead and also informs parents if there are any changes to schedule. This keeps the family in the loop at all times.
He also has a multitude of resources. He provides the Economics Today platform which really helps with application to tailor to the A Level course. In addition, he has scanned copies of textbooks and workbooks that allow you to develop and build your confidence in subjects. He also has many mock tests and exam style questions that can challenge you and prepare you for the real thing.
Finally, Dave is very encouraging. He was able to guide me through the last few months of my course and helped me to plan my revision timetable for my other A Levels as well. He made sure to recognise and commend my hard work.
I couldn't have asked for a better economics tutor, my understanding has deepened and will help me for my future studies and career.
