Just back from my third trip with Darren and 2nd trip with Kathryn. We had a fantastic few days in Wales despite the rain. Darren and Kathryn are so knowledgeable and experienced in every aspect of hiking and travelling that l always felt safe. They make sure to cater for everyone and all weathers! Wishing them the best wishes for their future travels.

Just home from a very successful trip to Wales with the Two Rock Outdoor company. Darren and Kathryn were fantastic guides throughout the entire journey and led us safely on our walks ensuring that anyone who needed support was looked after.They also gave us great information on the area we were in This was not our first trip with them and hopefully we will have many more in the future. I highly recommend their company.

I wasn’t sure what to expect on the mountain skills 1 course with Two Rock Outdoor but whatever it was they exceeded all expectations. Kathryn is brilliant at explaining everything, gives plenty of opportunity for you to practice what she’s teaching you. She is really knowledgeable and experienced. Would highly recommend Two Rock Outdoor. I plan to do my skills 2 course with them.

I did some night navigation training with Darran recently. I have a hidden disability and it acted up on the night. Darran was so professional in supporting me to continue and yet managing the rest of the diversely abled & compent group. It was a masterclass in mountain leadership, group management and inclusiveness. As a relatively newly disabled person in my 50s I really really appreciated being able to finish the course albeit being the tortoise of the group. The navigation course itself was very well organised.

Top class experience with Two Rock Outdoor! Darran and Kathryn were responsible, professional, and fun mountain guides and tour operators. They were flexible when it came to the travelling and planning and firm with guidance on the mountains. We really felt we were in safe hands. Overall, Two Rock Outdoor couldn't have done more for us. Thank you both so much for a very enjoyable experience!

Kathryn & Darren what an incredible weekend spent hiking in the Lake District for 4 days. From the minute we boarded the Bus in Dublin it was just plane sailing every stop along the way carefully thought about.

The guided tour up Scafell Pike 978m the highest peak in the England on the saturday & hiking Haytacks 597m on sunday. Always setting the pace of the group to suit everyone. Loads of local information on the hike was given by Kathryn & Darren.

A nice relaxing afternoon in a local town to relax & eat lovely local food all planned by Kathryn & Darren.

Thanks a million for a great weekend highly recommend Two Rock Outdoors for a well organised trip.

Great weekend in Connemara learning Mountain Skills with Kateryn. Kateryn kept teaching very simple and added on layers through the weekend. We learnt by doing which really helps with understanding. Map and compass knowledge is like learning a new language! I got exactly what I had hoped from the course. Thanks Kateryn for a informative and fun weekend, even if the weather was a bit unrealistic for Connemara!

I did a Mountain Skills 1 course with Kathryn in the Dublin Mountains recently and it was fantastic! Kathryn is an engaging and experienced teacher who made the course very practical and easy to follow- even I know how to use a map and compass now which is a miracle! I'd highly recommend doing this course with Two Rock Outdoor.

Completed the MS1 2-day course over the weekend with Kathryn in the Dublin Mountains. Really enjoyed the 2 days and came away with so much practical knowledge and experience. Kathryn really knows her stuff and gets the information across in a very engaging, practical and informative way. She was very patient if something wasn’t understood and we had lots of opportunity to put the skills into practice, thereby ensuring that we had a firm grasp of the course.
I came away with not just the skills, but the confidence to self-navigate which was my primary goal for doing the course. I am already looking forward to doing MS2 later in the year.
I can’t recommend Kathryn and Two Rock highly enough if you are thinking of doing the mountain skills courses.

Just completed my MS1 with Kathryn in Connemara, really great 2 days even with the weather. Kathryn was really patient and took the time with every member of the group to really go through all the details and ensuring we clearly understood every part of our new skills. After finishing I really feel confident to continue on my navigation and route planning by myself and have so many little take away tips that I won’t forget….Freds gonna live in his shed!!! Thanks Two Rock…hope to see you guys again!

Just completed MS1 with Kathryn. Very enjoyable course. Good learnings throughout the two days. She was well prepared, patient and I found the course very beneficial. Have to practice before taking on MS2 but would have no hesitation in doing more courses with her. Michelle Scott

Did MS1 with Kathryn. I highly recommend their course to anyone looking to explore the great outdoors and learn valuable hiking skills. I felt confident and informed throughout the journey. Hopefully I can now read a map and lessen the chances of getting lost!

The guided hike was so well organised. All questions were answers promptly and all relevant information was forwarded promptly after booking the event.
The guide was so professional, knowledgeable and made sure all members of the group got the most from the hike.

We got loads of practical experience

I travelled with a group led by Darren and Catherine from Ireland to Llanberis for 2 days. From the minute we were picked up until our return we were quietly and confidently looked after by them. No request any trouble, lots of information readily available and we felt very secure in their guided tours. Two Rock Outdoors come highly recommended by me. Looking forward to the next outing

Booked a hiking experience with Two Rock Outdoor. I was very impressed with our guide, Darran. Very knowledgeable and calm, exactly the kind of personality you need on a mountain, especially when weather conditions are challenging. We had a great, stress free experience. Looking forward to booking with them again.

I've been on two trips with Two Rock and both have been fantastic. Darren and Katherine are great ambassadors for the outdoors and made these adventures amazing without the hassle usually involved with planning these kind of trips. I would recommend them to anyone wanting to get into hiking or for those who already have experience on the hills. Two nicer people you could not meet and I hope to join them again in the future.
