Ordered and paid for. Then told they don’t have them. Now waiting on my refund
Ordered tyres to be fitted at my home on Saturday 10am-12noon. All booked and paid for.
Received a call at 8:30am to say the tyres aren’t available, they can provide me with different tyres (for an additional 10% cost of course as they can now only provide more expensive tyres). And it will have to be Monday.
I cancelled. A whole waste of time really, and now I’m waiting the 5 business days for my refund so I can order from elsewhere…

Highly Recommend
Always easy to book and the technicians that come out are always efficient, polite and no up selling. Recently had an issue with a recently fitted tyre, not their fault, from the customer service team to the technician who came out were brilliant. One email query and they sorted everything else within 24 hours.
I’ve used Halfords/Tyres on the Drive…
I’ve used Halfords/Tyres on the Drive multiple times, but my recent experience was shockingly poor.
I had three tyres fitted by a technician, and initially, everything seemed fine. However, I quickly realised that the wheels hadn't been balanced – a major oversight. This was evident because the old weights were still attached to the alloy.
I contacted Halfords, and they promptly arranged for another technician to visit the following day. He confirmed my concerns: not only had the wheels not been balanced, but the old valves were reused instead of the TPMS valves I had specifically ordered. After the technician balanced the wheels properly, my car finally drove smoothly.
The next day, I contacted Halfords again about the missing TPMS valves. They informed me that I had been refunded for them, but I would need to pay again if I still wanted them. This was unacceptable, considering I had already paid for these valves, and the first technician failed to install them. It was only thanks to the second technician's diligence that I became aware of this issue – otherwise, I wouldn't have known until checking my tyre pressures later on. It’s appalling that the original technician not only skipped this crucial step but had the nerve to put the old valves back on!
Halfords did agree to send another technician to install the TPMS valves free of charge, but unfortunately, this has caused a new issue. My car now has terrible wheel wobbling and vibration, clearly indicating another problem with the balancing.
Safe to say, I will not be using their services again. I now have to pay another company to correct the balancing issue.
The 3-star rating is solely for the handling of my complaint and the professionalism of the second and third technicians who came out. However, the overall experience was lazy, negligent, and made me feel extremely unsafe.

Excellent service and damage free alloys.
Excellent service, this is the second time I've had tyres fitted to my wife's car from tyres on the drive.
The first time there was zero damage to the alloys, I was a little bit concerned if things had changed as it's been 4 years since. My worries were not necessary as again, the two lads who fitted the tyres did an excellent job with no damage at all.
Please keep up the good work and don't change the way you fit tyres. Very happy with the service provided.
Great service from TYRESONTHEDRIVE/
Ordered 2 tyres online for my X-trail, took the guys around 45 mins to fit. Excellent service, no mess at all, both were very helpful, informative and polite,
Would definitely use them again.
Fuming
Fuming. Put car reg in for tyre and arrange fitting. Simple I thought. Turned up with a commercial tyre! Seems it's a glitch. They can't do tomorrow so will have to rearrange my work diary again not always that easy when you are a community nurse. So frustrated. Will not be recommending to anyone.
Update- rebooked for 14.08.24 (earliest appointment) and brought the wrong tyre! Cancelled and gone else where.

Tyres fitted on my Drive
Ordered online , had 4 Pirelli P Zero's fitted , took the guy 45 mins, excellent service , no mess at all , very polite ,
Just one small criticism that the tracking doesn't work on the website, so i had no idea what time he was coming , but that was absolutely not the guys fault who came to do the job , he was excellent
poor
Had 2 tyres fitted on the drive, left the old valves in despite new ones being part of the sale, also refused to put then new tyres on the same axle, stating because one of the old tyres was directional, it could not be paired with a non directional, even though he left it with a new non directional and the old directional.
Ill have to move them myself, not using Halfords again.
So after seeing your reply I assume you do not intend to do anything about it. Like actually replace the valves or move the tyres as your advice states it’s a safety issue.

Tyres fitted Tuesday, one flat hours later and still not resolved days later
Further to my issue yesterday regarding 4 new tyres fitted Tuesday and one being flat just hours later, then having to wait until Thursday for a technician to come and investigate.
Well the technician turned up to discover the previous fitter had not only snapped the sensor to my tyre but also didn’t seal the valve properly.
I was told to wait to be contacted for them to replace the sensor and possibly the valve.
I asked the technician if it was safe to drive with the issues he explained, his words were ‘maybe yes maybe no just check the air pressure frequently’.
I then go to my car to head out to discover the tyre has air hissing out of it. The valve clearly not fixed. Surely technicians should check the tyre before leaving??
This service is an absolute joke. I now have to wait for this technician to come back inbetween jobs to fit a temporary valve, which could be hours with no time frame given. And then again on another date for the sensor and a permanent new valve fitted.
Why as a company operating under Halfords, I cannot take my car to a Halfords garage to be sorted promptly is beyond me. And to not be given a valid reason for this by customer services other than ‘a garage will point blank refuse to look at it’. Ridiculous.
I have used this service in the past and not had issues until now. The customer after care is disgraceful.
Further to this, a technician arrived Friday PM to fit the new sensor and valve, the guy turned up with no parts at all and not a clue what he was actually there for. So yet again another major let down and more time wasted finding out why he was sent with no parts. Apparently the order hadn’t arrived that morning, yet by 5 PM no one thought to rearrange bookings with customers, they just continued to send out technicians to appointments and waste everyone’s time.

Tyres on the drive are crap
Tyres on the drive arrived on time and proceeded to fit tyres, tyre fitter then informed me he had snapped the locking nut key making it impossible to remove wheel. Tyres cancelled no problem, I was told they would pay for damage caused by the fitter and immediately contacted the derbyhub who said if I invoiced them for new key and broken stud removal I would receive a refund.
That was 6 weeks ago!!!!
Still no refund and pisspoor communication.
Had tyres fitted at local tyre centre
Wouldn’t use tyres on the drive (Halfords) again

3 Mechanics, 2 Tyres
Recently purchased two car tyres(19” pilot sport 4) that were recommended by their very own website. The first mechanic came out and was unable to fit the tyres due to faulty tyres. The second mechanic came out and was unable to fit the tyres due to not being able to pump tyres up. The third mechanic came out and was unable to fit tyres due to machine not being powerful enough to change tyres as the machine only goes to 150psi instead of 300psi which is needed to put tyres on rims. I was told I can keep the tyres and receive a 25% discount which I haven’t received. As TyresOnTheDrive recommended the tyres themselves but couldn’t fit their own tyres I would strongly think again before using this service.

TyresOnTheDrive couldn't be this bad
TyresOnTheDrive couldn't be this bad, unless they were actually trying to be this bad. For the second time in a row, they have sold me tyres, waited until the day before fitting, and emailed to say the tyres on not in stock and want extra to get tyres that are.
I tried to contact them, to be told 'We don't guarantee they're in stock' (the site specifically says 'Checking stock' when you search. I waited for 20 minutes for the operator to 'check' only to be disconnected... I was eventually called back and told 'as a gesture of goodwill...' so I've upped their score to a 3/5 :/

Not Recommended
Having used Tyres On The Drive for my own vehicle I recommended them to my son.
He ordered, waited in all day, then they turned up with the wrong size tyres! Their error.
He then had to wait a week with no car.
My daughter decided to give them a try.
She waited in all day Wednesday for the technician to turn up without the correct size nut remover! Their error.
We rearranged for Friday.
After dropping my daughter at work she received a phone call saying it was booked in for Saturday. Their error.
What the hell is going on!!
I cannot recommend Tyres On The Drive as they seem to be completely incompetent, from the technicians to the office staff.
Zero stars if I could.

Excellent service again
Once again due to a great service last time I had the firm again. Ordering and fixing date and time slot great. Was kept informed by email and later by phone by Danny. Great guy as was the previous guy. Danny was polite professional and a pleasure to deal with will definitely use again. Left everything ship- shape and so courteous. Excellent the whole experience !
Absolutely disgusting service and…
Absolutely disgusting service and customer service never ever use again
Damaged Alloys
Damaged edge of both alloys when fitting 2 tyres, somehow managed to rip centre badge off the alloy, had a slot at 4 to 8 and showed up at 2 30 without notice so lucky was in. Csnt get through to anyone to speak about the issue.

I phoned the call centre to place an…
I phoned the call centre to place an order for 6 tyres for my 6 wheel motorhome, having gone through all the process of details needed and order placed, the payment system didn't work, according to the agent they were experiencing payment difficulties at that moment & said for me to call back in an hour or two, so I did with the reference number given, so second time around I still had to go through the whole details process again, this time, payment rejected as it flagged up as scam payment with my bank ( who notified me immediately) so then I called a third time with the reference number, again had to go through the whole size and type thing again, now to be told they don't actually have the tyres in stock that I had already ordered !!! WHAT A FARCE !!! - my 1st and most definitely last time I'll ever try their service.
Worst customer service ever
I booked and paid for 4 tyres to be fitted to my caravan on July4th and paid extra for morning slot.(8 am-12 noon) Arrived at storage compound at 7:45 in case the came at 8 ! Sat there for over 4 hours for no show !! I’d already checked their ’update service’ which showed fitter was on time no one rang me no one emailed. I had to leave due to work commitments. Rang customer services who said they would refund me within 5 days and here I am 11 days later and no refund! They are absolutely appalling no apology not even a phone call ! I would never use them again or recommend them I was told 5 days ago a manager would ring me but of course that’s never going to happen my order no was A972B005723

They fitted my tyres but did not balance them. I spoke to customer services and they sent someone out. He was 2.5hrs late and I had to ring and chase. Turns out they hadn't told him my time slot. He agreed one of the tyres wasn't balanced but his machine had a fault so he couldn't do it and his manager had finished for the day at 3pm on a Saturday. I'm having to ring back to book a third visit. The phone system is hit and miss whether you get put through or cut off.
