University Academy 92 (UA92) is a new higher education institution in Old Trafford, Manchester, which aims to challenge traditional university conventions and transform the educational landscape, creating new and exciting opportunities which place character and personal development firmly at the core of the learning experience. Located just a short distance from the centre of Manchester and its world-famous sporting institutions, UA92 offers a uniquely different approach including multiple start dates, fixed study timetable, no traditional end of year exams, and a focus on character and personal development. Students can also choose whether they want to study in the mornings or afternoons, and only study one module at a time, for a focused and flexible learning experience. Uniquely, UA92 was established as a collaboration between Lancaster University and the Class of ‘92, one of the most successful Premier League football teams in history. The co-founders include Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, and Phil Neville, who each went on to build highly accomplished careers in the competitive and fast-paced worlds of media, sport and business. Graduates also benefit from a degree awarded by Lancaster University, who are highly regarded by employers and perform well in University league tables. The new and innovative, curriculum is co-developed with industry partners with an emphasis on preparedness and ambition, encouraging hard work and teaching versatile skills which are deeply relevant to life, and sometimes not covered in traditional university courses. The university benefits from strong relationships with more than 60 partners in industry, including Microsoft, KPMG, Manchester United and Talk Talk. The UA92 campus opened its doors in 2019 and has grown considerably in size and facilities.
