No way to contact a real human
Udemy states that it is possible to get a refund for a course within 30 days - I tried to do that but the system says I watched 'too much' of the content. The course was wishy washy and and I sped up the content to see if there is any substance in it. Today I realised I cannot get a refund nor contact a human customer service rep.
Frustrating and Ineffective
I don't even know where to begin.
I used to love Udemy. The courses were easy to find, the site had beautiful colors and it was easy to navigate. Now? I don't know what happened.
First, you can set up a password, but you'll never use it. They will insist upon emailing you a code every time. I reached out to customer service, asking them to switch me back to a password entry. Logging into my email is annoying and takes twice as long. They said they wouldn't. After it took forever to figure out how to reach someone at udemy, they said they were "unable" to help. So now even though I have a password, I have to constantly log into my email to receive a code. And no option to change it.
They took it upon themselves to enable two-step verification in my account, without asking me, and there is no way to disable it.
The site also automatically logs me out, restarting this whole process. By the time I log in, I'm too frustrated to learn anything. I also asked if they could fix that, and they said no.
The site is now ugly. The courses are all crammed together. The content only works about half the time. The app is always buggy. And it's more about "learning with AI" than the instructors I paid to listen to. I can't say that I despise the new experience enough. I'm writing this review, hoping they will listen and change it back to a better experience.
Avoid
Avoid - courses are nut recognised and you won’t get insurance
I'd give zero stars if I could
Terrible class no content and hard to…
Terrible class no content and hard to navigate. I asked for a refund immediately and I received a credit to use on Udemy! Nobody wants that.
COMPLETE GARBAGE!!!
Way too many issues just getting signed up to register for courses. Customer service can't effectively assist you either, so you have to keep calling back. I don't understand how a company could still with such low ratings exist internationally. Systems obviously rigged. Udemy's a PRIME example of you getting EXACTLY what you DONT pay for.
I'd give zero stars if I could
I'd give zero stars if I could. Absolutely horrible customer service. I will NEVER use this platform for learning again! I should've known with the horrible reviews they already have.
SCAM WARNING - stay away and check your bank account
Warning! Check your bank account. They deducted payments more than 2 years after we cancelled. More than $200+ for services never used. SCAMMERS
Check your bank statement after dealing with Udemy for few moths…
I used to have courses on "my learning" and I paid for another couple of courses, and all of the sudden everything disappeared and vanished. I tried to contact them but there is no phone number. Only chat. Udemy IT couldn't recover my account. I think the are scam !
Contacting technical support is very difficult Or impossible.
It’s a great choice for learning online , IF everything is fine BUT if there is a need to contact technical support, here is the PROBLEM, my case is that I didn’t get the course I paid for. And when I tried to get help from technical support there was no way to reach them. In the end it’s a great app except this problem.
I can no longer access my Udemy courses…
I can no longer access my Udemy courses (I've registered for several courses) because I don't receive the emails with the 6-digit code required to login. I have sent the support team several emails explaining my problem and asking for a solution, but the only thing I receive are standard automated answers. Completely useless.
Company is horrible
Company is horrible. They advertise cancel anytime and plan is 19$ something per month. They'll charge you for the whole year. When you cancel, they'll cancel from the next year onwards and you'll still have to pay it for the current year.
They don't have a direct email or phone number to resolve customer billing issues. Infact they don't mention any direct phone or email what so ever.
I would not use or recommend Udemy
I used less than 1 hour on a 100 hour Udemy course. I submitted a request to Udemy after 1 day for a refund to the original payment method (PayPal). A refund was not given only a credit which is useless on a platform that does not work. Udemy is unusable and verrrrry slow, videos take forever to load. I tried multiple different browsers and a couple of different devices with the same issues. My Internet speed was fine on speed tests at 250 meg down and 50 up. I tried submitting another ticket for refund back to my PayPal account but got rejected by Udemy. I then raised a dispute with Paypal. Paypal did not even tak any notice of the refund policy just said the product was supplied. So there is no option of getting my money back. Ive closed my Udemy account they can keep the credit, Ive also closed my PayPal account. Lets vote by not using companies that dont provide a good enough sevice.
the worst cours ever
First time using Udemy. It is impossible to understand what the creator is saying.
Tried to go for a refund and denied even if it is 2 days after I bought it and followed only the Introduction chapter. At only 5% of the lecture, not even out of the Introductory part, they say it is too much content already read, so not qualifying for a refund!!!
it has plenty of courses but the…
it has plenty of courses but the customer service is disappointing. getting refunds takes too long and support replies are completly unhealpful
Unpalatable level of contempt!
I've used Udemy many times in the past
Today, my wife suggested I do a course in a subject I needed to learn, 'it’s only £15’ she said. She shared the course with me, and in the time it took to AirDrop across the room, the price doubled.
This was no doubt because she has no Udemy account and was not logged in, where as silly old me has been stupid enough to have paid for half a dozen Udemy courses over the years.
So, my reward for being a good customer is that I am seen as a cash cow.
So, I tried to communicate with someone at Udemy, and what do I get, some stupid ill conceived and inadequate AI agent, who doesn’t answer the questions, explain anything, or help at all. All the AI does do is demonstrate and confirm to me that Udemy regard users like me with an unpalatable level of contempt.
So, I am NOT buying any more Udemy courses, and here I am warning others to steer well clear. Just look at the amount of really bad reviews on here, I think it speaks acres.
Website experience sucks
Website experience sucks ! it seems that udemy developer also need to watch their own video
I’ve been a loyal Udemy user for years…
I’ve been a loyal Udemy user for years and have purchased numerous courses—spending a significant amount of money over time. I relied on those courses not just for learning, but as reference points for ongoing work and skill development.
Recently, I got locked out of my account due to a broken or missing email verification link. I spent several hours trying to resolve it—resetting my password, checking spam folders, switching devices—but nothing worked.
The support portal was no help. It kept looping me through automated bot responses that didn’t address the issue or offer a way to reach a real person. I wasted hours trying to get past the bot, with no resolution.
Now I can’t even access the site, and I was actively using those courses. I likely would’ve purchased more, but this experience has made me question the reliability of the platform.
As a paying user, I expected better. Udemy needs to improve its support system and make it easier for users to get real help when things go wrong.
