Although there was a problem with the website, I was able to contact Russell Hobbs by email and arrange for a replacement kettle to be delivered under guarantee when the switch failed.
The kettle itself is excellent - very quiet, quick boiling and pours well. I would highly recommend the kettle.

Although the colleague was quick to message as I’m a bit of a technophobe I did find the instructions difficult to follow and felt like I was getting chasing emails before I had chance to reply. That said my problem was satisfactorily resolved and I am very happy with the outcome.

Whilst there seemed to be an issue with my registered email account, the team managed to recognise the issue and supported the replacement of the old unit.

Received toaster that was damaged. Contacted seller [Home & Beauty direct] who put me in touch with RH. After submitting photographs verifying the damage, received a replacement within three working days. I was able to keep the damaged item for recycling.
Every aspect of my buying experience was 1st class.

I bought a Russell Hobbs fridge freezer in August 2023 and honestly I was happy with it at first. But within the warranty period it started developing a problem a large block of ice kept forming in the freezer and the fridge section stopped cooling properly.
When I rang Russell Hobbs to report it, the advice I got was simply to turn it off and back on again. I did that, it seemed to improve a little, so I assumed that had done the trick. Looking back I was probably too trusting. The fault kept coming back and has gradually gotten worse over time.
When I went back to Russell Hobbs recently to raise a formal complaint, I was told that because I hadn’t called back after that first conversation, the case had been closed and my complaint was now being treated as brand new. I found that really frustrating I didn’t call back because I thought the advice had worked, not because the problem had gone away.
They then asked me to get an independent engineer’s report to prove the fault was inherent but in the same breath told me they wouldn’t cover the cost of it. There are no authorised engineers anywhere near me in Bury St Edmunds either, so I’d be paying for someone to travel from another city. It just didn’t feel fair.
After several back and forth emails I received a final position letter with no offer of any resolution whatsoever.
I’ve now contacted Citizens Advice and I’m exploring my options through Trading Standards and small claims court if necessary.
I’m not the type of person who leaves reviews or makes complaints easily. I just feel genuinely let down by a brand I trusted, and I think other customers deserve to know what to expect if something goes wrong with their appliance.

I purchased a Russell Hobbs one temperature steam iron in May2025 and took out the extended warranty. Last week the iron suddenly stopped producing steam. I contacted Russell Hobbs to activate the warranty and arrange for the return of the iron. I was infotmrd that it would take up to 4 weeks to carry out an investigation. As i put a wash on everyday, i usually have an hours worth of daily ironing, so cannot be without an iron for a day let alone 4 weeks. I requested a refund as i have had to buy a replacement iron, once they had agreed that the iron was faulty, because sending me another would be useless. This was when they informed me that refunds are only available up to 30 days after purchase. The only option for me was a replacement iron after 4 weeks. So do I pile all my ironing up for 4 weeks until they decide I am not lying and realise the iron is defective. I don't think so. Not much of a warranty if you are expected to wait 4 weeks and then your only option is a replacement iron.
25th May Russell Hobbs responded to my review asking me to contact them. Trying to be fair I did. In their response, they confirmed the refund policy stating that it was the retailer who should supply the refund, even though they are the manufacturers of the defective item. They also confirmed the 4 week turnaround for a replacement, so everything in my review has been verified by Russell Hobbs. Then finally, as a supposed good will gesture, i was offered 10% off my next Russell Hobbs purchase. Obviously i have not accepted their offer as I have already purchased a replacement iron from the Tower brand. There is a famous old saying, buyer beware which is quite appropriate in this case.

I would rate my experience lower if I could. I’ve never been so insulted.
I bought a Russell Hobbs iron in November 2024 (my first RH product). It has just stopped working (never happened to me before) and is covered by a 3-year warranty which I registered for at the time.
After being frustratingly unable to complete the claim form online because it wouldn’t accept my postcode, I found another way to contact Russell Hobbs through their website. After complying with requests for information, I was told the warranty was void due to improper cleaning due to a small amount of limescale on the soleplate, even though I use the self-clean function on a regular basis according to the manual and had already told them that. The iron shows normal use for 18 months (AI agrees) and has failed unusually early.
I was offered a 20% discount (“the best they can do”) to buy a replacement which is extremely offensive.
I asked to take the matter further but haven’t received a reply as of yet. I subsequently contacted customer services by telephone and was told the same, but I could have a 30% discount this time.
Based on the interactions so far, I would never buy anything from Russell Hobbs ever again! The iron isn’t of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and certainly isn’t durable. Essential attributes for an iron.
I’ve been told a manager will call me but I’m not holding out for a successful resolution.
The warranty isn’t worth the paper it’s written on! And the poor customer service adds insult to injury.

I was looking for a quiet kettle and was recommended Russell Hobbs. The kettle I bought was definitely quieter than any other kettle I’ve ever used before and boils quick.
After 17 months the kettle had a failure, so I contacted support services at Russell Hobbs. Within 24 hours of contacting them, they confirmed they would send a replacement.
I will definitely looking at other Russell Hobbs in future as they have excellent customer services.
