I recently attended my third business retreat with Syd from UK Educators Community in Marrakech, Morocco.
For me, this time was a solo retreat.
While I couldn’t make the full journey from Australia to Marrakech in time for the retreat, Syd went above and beyond by creating a personalised solo business experience for me over several days. Her willingness to support me in this way made the experience incredibly special—and it became one of the most transformative experiences I’ve had, both personally and professionally.
The setting itself was inspiring—rich culture, surroundings of the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa. On our breaks we were able to head out at our doorstep to eat and enjoy the vitality of the square, which was a great balance to our weekend.
then return sense of calm that made it easy to step away from everyday distractions and really focus. Syd always goes above and beyond by creating a space that felt both supportive and empowering, which is rare to find. Her willingness to adapt, focus and encourage depth in my business, speaks volumes of her commitment she brings to her retreats.

What stood out for me on this trip, was the balance between Syd helping me structure business guidelines and principles with my personal touch, expanding on some marketing for my business, and what was special to me, encouragement in my personal reflections on life and what my business means to me.

The sessions were clear, practical, and tailored in a way that helped me gain real clarity on my direction, while also building confidence in my decisions. At the same time, there was space to slow down, reflect, and reset—something I didn’t realise I needed as much as I did!

This was another great UK Educators retreat for me, and once again, what stands out most is how thoughtfully the experience is tailored to the people attending. No two retreats feel the same, and that flexibility makes a real difference.

This one felt especially calm and low-pressure. There was space to reflect, space to contribute, and no expectation to engage in a particular way. That made it feel genuinely accessible and supportive, particularly as a neurodivergent educator.

The inclusivity isn’t just something that’s talked about – it’s clearly understood and embedded into how the retreat is run. Syd adapts in the moment, responding to what people need, which means the sessions feel relevant and useful rather than generic.

She also has a strong depth of expertise in online teaching and building systems to sell classes and courses, which adds a practical layer to the experience. It’s not just about ideas – it’s about what will actually work in real educational settings.

As always, I came away feeling more grounded, more understood, and with clear, realistic next steps.

The business retreat to Morocco exceeded all of my expectations! Syd was a fantastic coach, mentor and tour guide! I walked away with a plan of action for scaling my business and I felt empowered to take the actions. In addition to the business and financial benefits of the trip, it was also a lovely way to travel and experience a new culture. Syd took care of everything and made sure the entire group was comfortable and well informed. I can't wait for the next retreat opportunity!

I had a wonderful experience on the retreat this September in Tangier and Chefchouen. Syd manages to interweave business and cultural/tourist experiences successfully. I came away knowing the area well but also key actionable points to develop my business to the next level. The format means you get to know your colleagues well and build great team spirit. The quality of accommodation and experiences are also excellent.

I took part in the January retreat in Morocco and it was fabulous! What I enjoyed most was being around other likeminded business owners and learning from them (great value). I also loved that we had allocated time in each of our businesses giving each an opportunity to pick u even more gems and nuggets. I must mention this....Syd helped me to uncover an issue in the messaging of my business. I tweaked my messaging and as a result got 4 new prospects in less than 3 days. I had a fantastic weekend. Worked hard....so hard! Enjoyed the sights, smells and flavours of Marrakesh in the evenings. Syd is a great host and accomplished facilitator. I learned a lot, met some great people and came home with a complete business plan that had been thoroughly picked apart & questioned from all angles. Definitely recommend the experience - Syd is right in that it's so much easier to think out of the box when you are in a place so out of your own familiar experience. I had an incredible experience attending Syd's Entrepreneurs Weekend Retreat in Morocco. The workshop and the overall experience in Marrakech have been amazing, and the beautiful riad which Syd arranged as venue was also an amazing experience.

The way Syd organised the workshop activities was extremely well thought and she used coaching techniques and special designed activities which allowed me to get clarity on certain aspects of my business I was stuck and I've left the workshop with clear actionable next steps to take to level up and scale my tutoring businesses. Besides this, Syd shared an exceptional amount of valuable information and I could also learn so much from the discussions and shared knowledge with the other tutors who have attended.

Besides the waste amount of knowledge and hands on help to get direction in my business, Syd is a great organiser who knows Morocco very well, so she gave us useful advice for shopping and going out in Marrakech and introduced us to some fantastic local restaurants where I enjoyed delicious marocan specialties.

I'm very happy I've attended this retreat, Syd is an extremely knowledgeable and skilled coach who made these few days a first class experience jam packed with value to implement and grow.

I had an incredible experience shooting Syd's Entrepreneurs Weekend Retreat in Morocco. It was genuinely one of the best workshops I’ve ever attended, and the venue was absolutely stunning. Syd booked a beautiful riad, complete with a pool in the living room. During one part of the session, we even had our toes in the cool water, which was refreshing when the temperature rose during the day.

I’ve been to other workshops in the past, including an intensive 8-week programme for entrepreneurs, but Syd managed to condense the best techniques from such an extensive course into just two days. The amount of valuable information she shared was exceptional.

Syd’s local knowledge of Morocco was impressive and incredibly helpful, whether we were shopping or dining. She introduced us to some fantastic eateries, and I left every meal completely satisfied, ready to dive back into the next learning session.

Another aspect of the retreat I really appreciated was the use of colour-coded pens and post-it notes for capturing key information. It made everything so much easier to organise, prioritise, and visually digest.

5*! UK Educators Community is a great place to be. Lots of fun and Syd thinks of not only the big details, but all the small ones too to make things extra special.

The UK Educators Community and the UKED Business Awards have been such an enjoyable experience. The culture in the community is one of support and celebration of success. The recent Business Awards showcased the great consultants and early childhood businesses in the UK who serve parents, teachers and children. Excellent organisation bringing together private educators and anyone interested in education through their podcasts and professional events. A truly inspiring and motivating community.

I’ve listened to the first 5-6 podcasts and find them really enjoyable and informative; it’s interesting learning abs taking wisdom from others in the profession.

If you’re in the tutoring industry, I highly recommend these podcasts- I could be wrong, but I think they’re the only tutoring specific podcasts out there, hence a great idea and a ‘must listen’.

As a home tutor it can be quiet an isolating role. This group makes me feel as though I have somewhere to ask questions and find answers that would normally be bounced off work colleagues. It’s great to know there are educators out there who have the same fire in their belly as me.

I really enjoy the podcasts and interaction from UK Educators community. It is a really safe space to be in with a lot of training to offer. The owner Syd is very experienced and approachable.

This is a wonderful educational community! Syd dedicates a lot of time and effort to cultivating an environment where educators can learn from each other and share their experiences. I have particularly enjoyed the podcasts which have all been incredibly insightful with lots of practical tips for me to take away. Great work, Syd!

I attended Syd’s course on how to run online groups yesterday. She’s enthusiastic and knowledgeable so the three hours flew by. It was clear that Syd had taken time to ensure the content of the course was both engaging and most importantly that it offered practical advice for moving forward with our own small businesses. It was great to meet other like minded individuals on similar journeys too. I’m looking forward to putting what I’ve learnt into practice. Thank you.

Completing the ‘Values’ section of Champions Club this week has been a real eye opener. As someone who is in the early process of starting a business, really thinking about your personal values and then having to look at them again from a business point of view has been a challenge and I’m going to personally work on differentiating between the two - all in all a really important reflection and something I wouldn't have considered the relevance of without Champion's Club.

Syd is the most hardworking dedicated professional I have met since I have joined the tuition market. She has an unwavering passion for what she does and is totally unconditional with how she engages with you the individual or in a training session.

I am so grateful that I have her on my side as a mentor and coach and I look forward to the work we will be able to do in the future.
