UK Hair Transplant Clinics is registered and regulated with the Government’s “Care Quality Commission” (CQC). The CQC’s role is to ensure that the hair transplant clinic providing the treatment meets the required standards and is performed in a safe environment. Not only are you protected by the fact that we are clinically governed but also because we offer a unique treatment guarantee. We are one of the only clinics in the UK that offers and upholds a guarantee on every hair transplant. We are able to do this as we are selective on those we think are suitable candidates for surgery. From the thousands of consultations we have done over the years only 40% of them are suitable for surgery as in our opinion suitable means being able to achieve a great result. If we deem you are unsuitable for hair transplant, this doesn’t mean there is nothing we can do for you, we have a wide range of non-surgical solutions we can offer. If you are just starting to thin we can offer products to lower the chance of you losing anymore or if you have receded to a Norwood 7 there’s alternative ways to create coverage. Exceeded expectations in every way

I had my FUE transplant in June 2023 with Dr Tetiana Mamontova at the Nottingham clinic (I had to put 2025 or it wouldn’t let me post this, for some reason)
As someone who started losing their hair at 17 (!) and didn’t discover finasteride until 2012, I had sparse, brittle hair with poor density - but my hair had always been important to me, so I carefully maintained a (relatively) convincing illusion that I had some for many years
A few candid comments from a new colleague revealed that my approach was as transparent as my locks and prompted me to research hair transplants, but I was initially very reticent to the idea. As a perfectionist and a very impatient person, I was scared that it would look fake, awful (or fail entirely) and the 12-18 month wait for optimal results seemed more time than I was willing to bear - but I took the plunge
After spending a surprisingly comfortable summer bald post-procedure, I slowly started to see my new hairline take shape
I’m now 31 months in and I don’t worry about my hair, ever. Despite all my worries and agonising over every little detail, Tetiana and the team did an incredible job - I now gleefully tell people I’ve had a hair transplant and people are always shocked and comment on how incredibly natural it looks.
If I could pick fault here, I would - but my experience has been nothing but positive
The surgery itself took 7-8 hours, if I recall, but I was comfortable throughout (after the initial injections, which do sting) and I watched films on Netflix for the duration
I’m now in my mid 30s and have thicker, more vibrant and lustrous hair than I ever thought possible and am regularly mistaken for being a decade younger
If you’re reading this and you’re on the fence, climb off and make the call - you’ll be glad you did :)

Results one year later

I had a transplant of 2,500 grafts to have my natural deep widows peak filled in with Dr Tetiana Mamontova and a lovely team.

I was very apprehensive I think like anyone would be given the cost of this kind of thing and how the results might turn out, and also that some reviews from others were given a little quickly following their surgery.

However, Dr Tetiana Mamontova and the team of technicians couldn't have been more nice and I really felt like a VIP in her care. I watched episodes of the office while they worked and probably had the volume too high (sorry).

My results one year later are amazing and have changed my life, I can now style my hair how I want and I no longer even think about my hairline which I think speaks for itself.

If you're bricking yourself like I was then know its not a pleasant surgery to have and nothing is ever guaranteed but these guys are legit and I'm very happy I went ahead with this.

Outstanding!!!

Im just shy of a week post op with UKHair so very early doors with my journey, but I can honestly say though, at this present moment in time from the start, the team have been great in all departments at UKHair, Lindsey, Nigel, Ashleigh, thank you 😊 A huge appreciation for Dr Tetiana Mamontova and her team of ladies, who made me feel so at ease and heard on the day of my surgery; within half an hour of meeting them at the Nottingham clinic, I knew I was in safe hands and it was an enjoyable day and experience 😊 A massive shout out to Chelsea, my patient coordinator who has been nothing but supportive and reassuring throughout these last few weeks, she has truly been amazing guiding me through everything!!! 🥰 I’ll be sure to write another review at the end of my journey, thank you 😊

Very happy with procedure.

My experience was made great by very nice and competent staff. The procedure went smoothly, everything was explained and the aftercare has been very comforting to have. There was no pain or discomfort during the procedure and I am very satisfied with the results at this time

Not a company I would recommend. Poor customer service.

I started this whole process with a video call in February 2023 with Kate. This was a very pleasant and very informative call. I was made to feel at ease and at no time felt pressured to book the procedure. £3800 is a lot of money to me, but getting my self confidence back is worth it.
I then met with Paul. I explained my issues and he told me that I was a good candidate, but there was some thinning issues and I had to take Finasteride before the surgery to help with this. I was not sure about this as it was not cheap, but I was told I had to take it for the surgery to go ahead.
I paid a £500 deposit plus £290 for the 14-month supply of Finasteride. It was delivered 14 days later.
I had done some research since ordering and a lot of the research said do not break tablets in half and not always suitable for women. I was worried when they arrived as it said I had to take half a tablet which obviously meant breaking them. I rang my co-ordinator, Chelsea, with questions about my concerns. She seemed very dismissive and unhelpful. I tried to explain why I had concerns, but she just kept telling me that was the way it worked. I also said that they had no groove on them to cut them so when you tried, they cut unevenly. She very shortly said “Well that is why we provided a pill cutter” There was no pill cutter in the package with the tablets and when I said this, she said she would get one sent out to me. I felt like I was being difficult and an inconvenience. I was really upset as this is not a cheap procedure and I felt like I was being spoken down to. There is no need to be rude to people with genuine questions about a medication they are about to take. Manners cost nothing.
I contacted Kate and told her that I was not happy with the way that Chelsea had dealt with my issues and she kindly said that she would arrange for another co-ordinator for me.
I started the Finasteride in March.
I needed another appointment with Paul to see how the Finasteride was working before my upcoming surgery. I got an appointment for 22nd August 2023 (surgery due September 12th 2023).
I saw Paul and as before it was a pleasant and casual appointment. He did mention that the Finasteride had not seemed to do much, but gave no inclination to me that the procedure would not go ahead.
I emailed a few questions I needed to know the answers to, but got no reply for 48 hours and then received a random email from Ashleigh. She replied saying that she was out of the office until Wednesday which was fair enough, but then finished the sentence with usually Chelsea would deal with this, but I understand you don’t want to talk to her. I felt like I was less important because I did not want to deal with Chelsea and that was my fault. If she had not been rude I still would have.
It then went on to say “As far as I know the surgeon wasn’t willing to proceed with the surgery due to the fact there has been no improvement in the front section from Finasteride.
That was it. So basically, I got an e-mail at 7pm and I was distraught, not knowing what was happening. It did not say the surgery had been cancelled and did not say it was going ahead. I was never told in the whole time that I could be an unsuitable candidate and the surgery may not go ahead. I had made arrangements for the date of the procedure and 2 weeks after and all for nothing.
I find it very unprofessional to tell me this in an e-mail and not face to face or on the phone.
I spoke to Judith the next day as that was the name given to me by Ashleigh in her e-mail. Judith is another manager. She told me that Kate should never have booked a date for my surgery until after my 2nd appointment with Paul and she was at fault. It may have been the case that the appointment should not have been booked, but Kate was not the only person I had spoken to throughout the process. This was booked back in March 2023 and I have since spoken to Chelsea, Paul and Ashleigh and not one of them said that this appointment should never have been made. They all knew that the appointment had been booked. It was not until I spoke to Judith, who blamed Kate. Coincidence that Kate has now left the company so obviously a scapegoat.
I have now got my deposit back, but emotionally I can't get that back. I am glad they did not do the surgery if I am not a suitable candidate but the way it was handled and the way I was told was not professional.
Apart from Kate everyone else has been rude or unprofessional.
Now I understand why people take the risk of travelling abroad to get the procedure done. I chose to pay 3 times the price to have it done here yet was treated like a pay cheque and not a human. I have had surgery in Turkey and the care was out of this world. I chose the UK for a transplant as I thought the experience would be better and the regulations are stricter.
I have emailed a complaint, but no idea if it will just be dismissed or lost.
No option for zero star rating :-(

Jenny, thank you for your feedback, we always welcome feedback both good and not so good. Only by a patient providing their experience can we continually review our services to ensure we provide a great service.

Cancelled surgery as NOT suitable:
We fully understand your disappointment in being advised not to proceed with your hair transplant. Over the past 12 years we have built an excellent reputation for providing honest advice centred around patient’s best interests. In your case we simply didn’t want to just take your money, knowing that 18 months post-surgery you would feel even more disappointed having spent £3800, gone through a 6/7-hour operation and taken 2 weeks off work to then achieve a poor result.

At your 1st physical assessment pre-surgery, we indicated that overall your hair quality was poor and that we recommended taking medication initially to see if this would improve and arranged see you after 6 months. At the 2nd pre-surgery appointment, we noticed that your hair hadn’t improved enough which was unusual and we immediately sent the pictures to the surgeon who reviewed them the following day and advised not to proceed.

The surgeon emailed your patient coordinator that evening for her to let you know but because she was on holiday, she couldn’t call you. She wanted to let you know asap as your surgery was quite soon and you were looking to pay the balance, she decided to send an email letting you know about your surgery and that your consultant Kate or her manager Judith would call you the next day with more information, which she did.

It was agreed with you to continue on the medication and that the surgeon would review you in 6 months to see if there had been any improvement.

Professionalism of staff:
We are committed to employing passionate, caring and professional staff and whilst you were very satisfied and commended some of our staff, we are were disappointed that you felt that one member didn’t meet our standards.

You can see from nearly all the reviews on this site, we are dedicated to offering a great patient experience in terms of both customer service and clinical outcomes.

As a result of your comments about a certain member of staff we will obviously investigate this further, especially as this person constantly gets great feedback on Trust Pilot and internal patient surveys.

Previous surgery in Turkey:
We understand that you had another cosmetic surgery procedure abroad and were happy with this. However, as you know “Hair transplant surgery” unlike your previous surgery, is not classified as a hospital procedure and therefore in some countries having a hair transplant is less regulated than in the UK.

Again, thank for your feedback and we really do sincerely apologise you feel the way you do about the service you feel you have received.

I’ve booked an hair transplant for…

I’ve booked an hair transplant for December back March and the service from my medical receptionist in my opinion is not acceptable. I’ve had issue problems with the dosage of finasteride with not much concern and now trying to sort out an appointment date with my surgeon and trying to book holidays at the same time is a nightmare. Email reply time is in my opinion not acceptable when paying private. My only reason for stopping and going ahead with the transplant is the surgeon reviews our outstanding. So I’m just putting up the the poor can’t be bothered receptionist at the moment

Reply from UK Hair Transplant Clinics - Nottingham

Hi George,
Thank you for your review, we are sorry to hear you feel frustrated enough with communication to post a review on here.

We have looked back over the email chain between you and your patient coordinator and we can't find any long delays with email responses. The longest gap we can find between you emailing in and her reply is from Friday to Monday as the office is closed at the weekend. When you first requested the surgeon consultation, your surgeon was on her honeymoon so was unable to access her diary, we made you aware of this and got back to you once she was back.

With regards to arranging the surgeon consultation, unfortunately we have found it difficult to accommodate such a specific request of a Friday at 4pm in Nottingham. Your surgeon doesn't standardly work a Friday as she works days that surgeries are booked which are adhoc, she also splits her time between the Manchester and Nottingham clinic. We have offered you the Friday dates we do have which have been unsuitable so far.

Your query regarding Finasteride was due to a reaction we had never experienced before as it was a skin reaction. This isn't a listed or known side effect so we recommended consulting your GP to see if it could be anything else causing the reaction. Since changing your dose this seems to have resolved.

We can assure you the patient coordinator you are dealing with can be bothered, as you can see from previous reviews from patients on this platform she works hard to help patients in their journey. She has tried multiple times to get a date for you that fits your specific requirements and has got as close as she can with the surgeon's diary. She has recently emailed you a new date which we are yet to hear back from you regarding.

Please contact us as we have also had a new surgery booking for a Friday in October which could be suitable.

Hopefully we can resolve this matter as we don't want any patients to feel like the way you have described.

Kind Regards,
UK Hair

100% recommend UK Hair Transplant Clinics !!!

100% recommend UK Hair Transplant Clinics!!!!

From the initial call with Nigel, to face to face consultation with Paul, to the surgery with Dr Tetiana (and nurses), to the after care with Chelsea and the 6 month review with Paul - I can honestly say they are a credit to the company!

The whole team at UK Hair Transplants that I have dealt with have been so helpful along the process, and I am so happy after 6 months with the progress of my hair transplant.

When I was deciding which company to choose for my treatment, I looked on Trust Pilot and UK Transplants were at the top, and I am so happy I chose to stay in the UK and have the treatment.

Before I had the treatment, I was so conscious of my hair loss; however since the treatment, I am now so happy with my hair and I feel a lot more confident (and there's still another 12 months of growth to go).

Shout out to Dr Tetiana Mamontova - she has done such an amazing job - thank you.

If you are considering a hair transplant, it's definitely worth it, and by staying in the UK to have it done I feel like I have been able to get the best aftercare treatment.

Best thing I have done - Thank you so much!

Early days but very promising

I’m now a week post-op from my hair transplant and I’ve been very impressed with the process and the support. After my initial video consultation, my in-person meeting prior to the surgery meant we made a few tweaks (notably, more grafts as more loss was evident in person due to lighting conditions etc). After the initial anaesthetic injections, the process was completely painless. I appear to have experienced the worst-possible swelling (which is very on brand for me) but it’s now almost completely subsided and it’s just a dull ache rather than any acute discomfort. Very happy with the hairline and apparent density so far and eagerly awaiting the results to bloom in the coming months.

My surgeon was Dr Tetiana Mamontova who put me at ease and was actually very funny; at times I almost forgot I was undergoing surgery and not having a warm chat with a friend (albeit while lied down).

My procedure was done at the Leenside clinic in Nottingham (367 Derby Road) and I was immediately confident in the degree of professionalism from the standard of cleanliness upon entering - I’m pretty sure it had even been recently been painted.

My account manager Chelsea checks in on my progress regularly and seems happy to answer my seemingly endless of questions.

Overall, very happy and hoping for my results to rival the before & after pics on the website. Fingers crossed!

A very special thanks to Tetiana Mamontova, she made the whole experience from start to finish so straight forward, confidence building and relaxing. I had, had a previous surgery which was the polar opposite to this and made me very apprehensive to go for round two. However I am so glad I did as I'm 6 months post surgery and so far extremely happy. 10/10, thank you!

Friendly service

Friendly service, had a laugh on the day with the Dr and her team. Good patient aftercare, the aftercare daily cheat sheet/guide of what to do and when was a great help. A Pleasant experience for something some may consider a bit daunting.
