Horrible
Apparently couldn't pick the lock so had to drill it. Was told on the phone that it would only cost £60 to get the door opened, once the guy arrived he was rude and didn't list to anything i had to say. He kept trying to get me pay for the more expensive lock replacement and didn't stop till my partner stepped in. Ended up paying £204 because apparently to open the do it was £69.
Con men and scammers
My daughter came home unexpectedly, she doesn't live here but has a key, unfortunately both me and my wife weren't there so she called these guys to let her in. They convinced her it needed a new lock, she asked why and they said it must be on old lock. Rubbish it was a new door only A few years old.
They intimidated a young lady and it cost £340 for work that was not necessary.
Complete scammer con men.
I am now filling a court claim for a full refund. ** Update, the court agreed with me, I filed a CCJ, today I got back from them £407, including £50 court fee. I would advise you all to do the same **
Absolute scum do not use
Absolute scum, scam individuals, using people's despair to capitalise whilst blind sided by not being able to get into their homes. They scumbag arrived. Announced we had a NASA grade lock he couldn't pick, rubbish. He then proceeded to drill the lock, broke it and offered a £500+ replacement and a £300 + replacement of the same quality. Ive had locks from wilkos for £15. Even with labour. £344 later hes fixed it and gone. He prayed on my wife's vulnerability returning from a shift at the hospital whilst I was away at work. If I find their van from their reg I'll be getting a refund.
Scum bags.

Charged a very ill old man over £700 to drill out and replace a lock barrel.
Complete rip off
Complete rip off! 5pm call out so not late, told half an hour and he arrived in just over an hour, he was a nice bloke but said it's a good lock , high security but couldn't unlock it. And would cost £285 to drill it out and pay for a new lock. The final bill was £600 - we accept £55 call out but then £285 to take a few minutes to drill it out, £165 for a new lock and another £95 labour! Complete rip off, if I wasn't in just panic mode I would have checked the reviews. When we first got the door and got locked out the guy we called came in minutes and took minutes charging just £80... unfortunately I couldn't contact him.
Having lost of keys for my garage l…
Having lost of keys for my garage l looked for a locksmith close to me.
I called the company up and l asked for a quote the receptionist told forty nine call out and from twenty pounds up.Did l want some one to come now or latter.
I spoke to my wife and we said based on what this company told us we felt we should go with this company .
Having being told that the job was for £498,we decided to go with that .
The locksmith turned up within twenty minutes which for me was impressive.
A young man who was very pleasant in his work appearance .
I showed him the job and within half an hour job done.
However when it came to make payment by card l we use the wife’s card to pay the bill .l made the mistake of of not checking up on the amount and just paid for the work.
We left it at that , it was late of night when my wife checked to see if the payment had been taken out of her account.
It was then discovered that this company had taken£698 pounds . This happened yesterday the 23th September 2025.
I phone this company up had a heated discussion with a man who said it was a mistake say the job was for £498 as it was for £698 and if my maths are correct that’s a £150 more than l was to pay.
This company is a rip off .
And l shall make formal complaint to the ombudsman about this company the receptionist told forty was very Unhelpful gave me the impression of not wanting to help, it took three phone call to speak to a man who said he was the manager ,wanted to give
Me to give him my wife’s bank details , l asked for a receipt and he would send one if l gave my email address, this l did and l be watching out for this ,but l don’t expect to get one .l was asked to rate this company well l gave it one but in reality it l would rate the company a big fat O.

Super Efficient Response - job done
I called to make an appointment to have my front door lock replaced as it was sticking and clearly on its way out. Phone answered immediately, gave run down of work required and the locksmith was there within the hour. Lock replaced and job complete in 15 minutes, so labour costs were minimal. I was given an option of a cheap replacement, but chose a better option for peace of mind and security. £245.00 all in. I am very happy with the response to my call and work completed and would recommend. VH
Conn artists
Estimated cost £50. Actual cost £528. Fitted a very expensive lock that wasnt really needed (£280). When questioned about fitting a cheaper one was told that no other lock would fit (this was a lie). Said they would do the lock for £120, but still charged £528. As tge door was now unsecured had to let them finish the job. After "locksmith" left called company directly to complain. When asked what the other £408 was for they said labour (20 min job). I told them if they didn't lower the cost to a resonable rate I'd do a charge back through bank. Locksmith called me directly and threatened to come back and remove lock. I said to do that he would have to break into the house and I would call police. When I told him I had recorded the call he no longer wanted to speak to me. Do not use these people. They did the job, but at hugely inflated prices and by lying about what was needed.
Thanks
The guys came out Sunday around 9pm took the broken part, fixed new temporary lock said will be back on Tuesday (today) he's just been and fixed it with new piece. Was expensive but the job got done the man was nice and respectful aswell. 🙏 Thanks 😊
Shocking customer service and totally ripped off
I called a week before we needed the work done as we locked ourselves out on the way to the airport. I was quoted £49-59 for a barrel change. When we returned from holiday a man in a car, not company van arrived 40 mins late. He said it would be £278.00. We were shocked at the price but felt like we didn’t have a choice as he was there and we needed to get into the house to get our car keys to pick up our dog from the kennels. In retrospect I wish we had said no and called someone else. He was there 5 mins, drilled out the barrel and put a new one and charged us for the drill bit as well. He didn’t clean up the mess and was rude when I questioned the price and spoke over my voice. I called head office, which is someone's house as I could hear children. In the background. The phone wasn’t answered in a professional way. He said I did have a choice and I could have said no and he is right about that. The work was subtracted out to them from the company I originally called. I am trying to get hold of the company that subtracted the work out but can’t get through. All a bunch of cowboys, taking advantage of people in vulnerable positions, I am very ill and my medication was in the house. If I had said no way to the quoted price he probably would have lowered it as he was there. Very unprofessional set up on the phone and face to face.
Total sham
I need help on my door has couldn't open so phoned this company he turned up 45 minutes later and told me it was broken then broke the lock of the door then said the gear was broken inside and would come back on Monday at 08.00 he never showed and telephone number was answered when I rang I give until half ten just in case he had been called out for something else , then contacted appleyards who came out promptly and the locksmith said there was no need to break the lock and they have not heard good things about this company letting loads of people down and costing loads of money for bad workmanship
Absolute scam
Absolute scam. Cos me £733 and like most other reviews here they drilled out my door. I booked through a website called Locksmith Reading, but when the man (two them actually, brought a trainee who then sat in the car!) arrived he had this company on his t-shirt, by then it was too late. So the previous reviews I’d checked had been irrelevant. I’m going to escalate to the Ombudsman so even if I don’t get money back the “company” can be looked into !
Misleading and Costly
Firstly, we were told that a locksmith would be with us in 25 minutes. It took an hour and a half for him to arrive.
Secondly, and more importantly the locksmith having broken in asked about a replacement lock. We asked for an equivalent replacement. He said the equivalent would be £436. Having gone ahead we subsequently discovered that a like for like replacement lock should have cos around £50 and that we had bought an ultra high security one. In addition we found that the charges for call out and fixing the lock were significantly higher than the going rate. Had we not been locked out at night we would have checked reviews before calling them out. Now having time to do this I can understand why there are so many negative reviews.

1Allocks based in Bury St Edmunds is a very good locksmith firm. They answer calls immediately and come to help the same day within 3 hours. We were very impressed and grateful. The manager- Mark was polite and helpful and replaced our front door lock in record time.
I would give zero stars if possible
I would give zero stars if possible. They are praying on people in desperate situations. Unfortunately, I went on holiday and my best mate was house sitting to look after my German Shepherd Dog. Towards the end of my holiday, he unfortunately locked himself out and I had forgotten to put a spare key in our key box! At 10pm they eventually arrived and changed a £30 lock for the extortionate price of £582 and only took 5 minutes to replace I would have thought that £200 to £300 would have been the very maximum, even considering the time.
Yesterday 10th July my daughter couldn't get the key out of the lock. I phoned the company this morning, eventually getting through and the original installer had moved on! Eventually, someone turned up to replace the lock and wanted to charge me another £250 for the alleged upgraded version which looked exactly the same as I had! I told him to take a running jump and he fitted it for free eventually.
The moral of this story is buy a £20 keybox, install it somewhere out of sight and put a spare key in it and possibly spare keys for other entry points. You'll unlikely never need a rip off locksmith like this again and save yourself a fortune. 😊
If they're on their way - cancel!
If they're on their way - cancel! Blatant scam from arriving on site. Immediately stating the lock was expensive and difficult to replace. Tried to charge ~£300 for a £30 lock stating they only use their own locks and that other types aren't good enough. Replaced myself at that point with a like for like replacement lock from Screwfix and the job took me 10 minutes.
Service with low quality for very high…
Service with low quality for very high prices.
They changed the lock in my front door for £150!!!! And for other £90 destroyed my back door..... Awful service
Rogue locksmith scam
Rogue locksmith scam. Do not use under any circumstances. Locked out of house, no attempt to access house non-destructively, straight to drilling out the back door lock. Only then informed of replacement price - bill totalled over £900 and the new lock doesn’t fit properly.
I wish I'd read the reviews first…
I wish I'd read the reviews first instead of trusting their fake gold star 4.8 rating on their website. Diabolical service. I went to a local locksmith in the end who were brilliant and professional and much cheaper than the quote given by these scammers
They came on time but very expensive…
They came on time but very expensive the middle lock part was £465 to be completed with labour.
The only reason for paying was that i couldn't secure the door with out this part.
