Short term let in Oxford
I had to stay in Oxford for two months and was struggling to find a short-term let, especially when it came to trusting a place from overseas. Jit, the U Living agent, was incredibly helpful. He showed me the apartment via video call, and the clear payment process, agreement, and overall system gave me 100% confidence in trusting them.
Due to a delay, I couldn’t arrive at the apartment at the scheduled time, but Jit kindly waited for me until late to give me the keys. He was very kind, responsive, and easy to communicate with throughout the whole process.
I really recommend his services and will definitely contact him again if I ever need a place to stay in Oxford.

I rented with Jit and the U LivIn team
I rented with Jit and the U LivIn team, and they were always extremely co-operative. The house was very well maintained, and a cleaner came every week to take care of the common areas. My housemates were cordial and carefully selected. No one ever created any nuisance, and it was clear that extensive due diligence had been done. This only increased my trust in the agency.
Unfortunately, I had to move out of town for work. But if I ever move back to Oxford, I wouldn’t look any further. I would trust U LivIn again without hesitation, knowing they would choose the best place for me based on my needs. The team is available 24/7 and has often gone out of their way to ensure we never faced any inconvenience.

Not the best experience with this agency and unfortunately I can't reccomend.
Facilities were basic, hot water temperamental, house always cold due to old and worn sash windows with poor glazing.
Fixings like carpets and skirting boards not fitted well. Garden wss poorly kept with a broken bench. Quality of wardrobe and cupboards was poor and cheap.
Landlord wasn't particularly friendly, approachable or communicative.
High rent for what you get.
Positives were a good location, comfy bed, desk and ensuite.

I understand you feel your experience wasn’t positive. I do feel it’s important to clarify a few points for transparency.
The property is an older building, and some characteristics reflect this, but it is maintained to licensing and safety standards. However, you decided not to physically view the room or house, even though you were local, before making that decision to apply for the tenancy.
In terms of the property itself, any maintenance issues that were reported during your tenancy were addressed within a reasonable timeframe, depending on the severity of the issue, including checks on the hot water system, heating, and general upkeep. Considering 2 times I came out, and the boiler isolation switch was turned off. All the actions reported were resolved within 1-5 days.
Had further issues been reported at the time, I would have arranged for them to be inspected.
Furniture was provided in good condition at the start of the tenancy. Approximately four weeks before the end of your tenancy, you reported a broken wardrobe shelf. Given the location of the break and the support points, this type of damage is typically caused by excessive weight or climbing on it.
Regarding the checkout, the room was not left in the condition required under the tenancy agreement. Although you stated it had been “deep cleaned,” there was visible dirt underneath the bed, and the bathroom required additional cleaning.
I always aim to be fair, approachable, and friendly with all tenants. For clarity, all tenancy-related communication was handled through our WhatsApp group for any emergency updates and through COHO for maintenance, ensuring issues were logged and resolved efficiently. My focus is on responding to essential matters rather than general chat, which is why all formal communication routes were clearly set out and consistently followed. Any perception of being unapproachable is not reflective of the system in place or the level of communication provided. We will take the feedback and review for improving tenant communication.
Positive experience
We have been tenants in a property managed by U Livin Lets since September 2024.
The property manager, Jit, was refreshingly easy to work with in the Oxford property market - from the moment of application all the way through to exit. He is personable and does his best to make things as easy as possible.
Him and his team are easy to contact and in some instances, they went over and above in responding to our requests - including the replacement of furniture, and addressing non-critical issues to make our stay a bit better (water pressure, etc.)
If I was an incoming tenant or a landlord, I would feel confident I was in safe hands with Jit and his team.
Highly recommended, without reservation.

Condescending and rude agent
The agent is disrespectful and dismissive. I went in for a viewing and he was condescending towards me. To me this indicated that the agency does not care about maintaining good relationships with their tenants and I don’t trust them enough to sign a lease.
EDIT: The agent/owner suggesting I asked for private info -
1. When was the last time mould inspection was conducted in this house.
Agent's Response - "There is no requirement to do this. We have had no mould problem in this house."
(He did not mention if a dehumidifier is provided or any inspection has ever been done. My concern here is valid. how can I trust an agent’s word that there is no mould problem when most houses in the UK do? He also shot me down on this condescendingly, making remarks such as "which country are you living in?".
2. He proposed a rent for £1,075 pcm for 1 room, in a 7-bed house with a tiny kitchen for that many people. Room was decent and the bathroom was private but not ensuite. The house is old-ish and no new fittings and furniture. There was also no common area/living room other than the tiny kitchen. I asked for the current tenant's rent and he said "that's none of my business". Why is it not my business when you're asking me to pay an artificially inflated rent? I expect to know how much the landlord increases the rent each year. These greedy people only make the housing crisis worse and try to horde wealth.
Please don't sign a tenancy agreement with this agency, I don't think they do anything more than profiting off working class folks.

The concerns you’ve raised should have been considered more carefully before arranging a viewing. The property details were provided, but those seem to have been overlooked. Bad experience
If I could I would give you -stars. He is an absolute nightmare. He is super annoying, shows up as he pleases without notice. Being a nurse it is super difficult to adjust to the schedule and a horrible landlord doesnt help. Do not recommend him at all!! As an overall my room was not professionally cleaned! I lived in the house for 6 months and left to into a better house before the end of my tenancy. I have definitely met you multiple times. For the purpose of this review I wish to remain anonymous, hence you think that we havent met. Otherwise I would like to make it clear, that you were officially the worst landlord I have ever had!
