Incredible service from Ultimate Bathrooms

I recently used Ultimate Bathrooms for a shower room project. Paul B was fantastic from start to finish and project managed the whole fit.

We had Danny and Craig (fitters) and Greg Tiling. They couldn’t have been more accommodating to requests while tidy and courteous through out the project.

The finish is incredible, we couldn’t be happier! Thank you Ultimate Bathrooms ❤️

Fantastic Project Management on 2 of our bathrooms

Several weeks ago we visited Ultimate Bathrooms in Chesterfield to look for inspiration for refreshing 2 of our bathrooms. We had recently moved in to the property in 2025 and needed inspiration and to map out the Pintrest style ideas I had on my phone.

We were greeted by front of house and we could freely wander around the showroom (tip - stick your reg in when you get there for free parking!). We wandered round and liked ideas and themes in some of the displays and got chatting to the Showroom Manager (Paul). His flair and knowledge instantly gave confidence that these guys were up to the task!

We sat down with Paul and discussed themes, styles, tiles and furniture, it was great to see plenty of known UK/EU quality brands. We visited 2 other places in Chesterfield and they didn't have that luxury look or feel.

We gave the team a few days and they invited us back in to show us the designs in 3D on their system. It didn't dissapoint! They listened to what I wanted and this reflected in the designs. - He even came in under budget which was a nice surprise!

Fast forward 3 months and the bathrooms are now in, the whole process was incredible. The fitting teams were nothing short of amazing and went the extra mile. We had an issue in which we found damp on a wall under the tiles that were coming off, rather than it being a showstopper. Paul and the team knew the right trades who could quickly resolve, treat and continue. Paul kept us informed at every stage and coordinated trades, deliveries and waste removal as needed.

A huge thank you to Paul, Sue and Gretta for making the whole experience smooth and stress‑free. We’re absolutely delighted with the results and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ultimate Bathrooms.

Delighted with our new bathroom and cloakroom!

We are so pleased that we chose Ultimate Bathrooms, Chesterfield, for our full bathroom and cloakroom refurbishment. Our experience was first class from start to finish and we are delighted with the results. The finish achieved is truly exceptional and was even beyond our expectations. Many thanks to Paul and his team in the Chesterfield showroom!

Paul’s experience was very helpful when it came to agreeing the products and finish we required. A date for installation was agreed a few weeks in advance to accommodate our holiday plans. The work started on time to the day agreed.

Our installation team of Danny & Craig (fitting and plumbing), Greg (tiling) and Brad (electrics) were a pleasure to have in our home. The quality of their work was exceptional, and the work was completed in just under 3 weeks in the most efficient manner possible. They protected carpets and furniture effectively and left our home clean and tidy each evening. There were no ‘down days’ and the work between the trades was coordinated perfectly.

We would have no hesitation in using them again in the future.

We chose Ultimate Bathrooms

We chose Ultimate Bathrooms, Chesterfield, to replace an old bathroom and fit a new en-suite, with walk in shower, in the extension.

The whole experience was excellent, from Paul’s knowledge and expertise to Simon’s skilled fitting on site. Having an idea of what we wanted was a good starting point but no substitute for speaking with experienced professionals. The choice of materials and accessories was extensive, and we were delighted with the finished designs.

The communication throughout the projects was also excellent and any queries were quickly addressed. When we decided, on site, that we would like to change a folding shower screen for a solid one it was done without question or charge.

The quality of the materials and overall design, plus the details (which elevated the look to that of a hotel or spa), together with first class customer service are why we would certainly recommend Ultimate Bathrooms to anyone.

Thank you,

Nick and Sarah. Dronfield.

The owner is a nightmare

I went to Ultimate Bathrooms in Chesterfield for a bathroom extension and refurb, and my project was handled by company owner, Paul Bland. I live in a park home which is of specialist construction, so my first question to Mr Bland was whether his company had experience of installs in park homes. I was assured that they had worked on park homes before. I have this in writing from Mr Bland. The final job totalled just over £14K.

The first thing you should be aware of is that Ultimate Bathrooms does not have its own contractors. They source the work out, and you pay the contractor separately for their work. This means that if anything goes wrong, you have two parties to deal with.

But it was only during a random conversation with said contractors, that they admitted they had never worked on a park home before. My heart sank, but the job was underway so I had little choice but to let it carry on. Their workmanship was, without question, of a good quality, so I trusted it would all be OK.

Beware: Mr Bland is good at his job…when things go right. But when they go wrong he shuts down. His customer skills suddenly plummet to non-existent. Case in point: I returned a cheap and nasty plastic toilet seat that I’d been charged almost £40 for, and his head almost exploded. I was told I'd be hard pushed to find a cheaper one: so I promptly went to B&Q, bought a solid wood one, with chrome soft-closing hinges, for less than £30. It took weeks for them to process my refund.

But the really big problem came in September 2024 just weeks after the job was finished, the ceramic tiles he sold me all started to crack. I have since discovered that anyone with park home experience would NEVER have sold me those particular tiles. They were completely unfit for purpose.

The cracks got bigger. I was heartbroken. I was told by him and the contractor that we should wait until Spring to see if any more problems transpired, then they’d deal with it. The tiler even said “we’ll sort it, I promise” as I stood there crying my eyes out. Spring came and went with no word from either Mr Bland or the contractor. I made contact and got “Oh, I was just about to call you”. Yeah. Sure.

He eventually came and looked. He stared at my walls with a blank expression, shaking his head. He had nothing to offer me. I had to suggest solutions to him myself. He was useless; and fully lived up to his surname.

Weeks went by, and I had to chase him again for his proposal for remedial work. By this time, I was dealing with a huge amount of personal issues following the death of my mum, and having to care for my elderly dad. Mr Bland emailed proposing to start work on the exact same day my dad was due to go to hospital for an op. I obviously had to decline that date, but asked Mr Bland to send me a brochure of products so I could start choosing what I wanted, and asked him to suggest alternative dates. The brochure and date never came. He also failed to provide all of my warranty paperwork when I requested it. That was in May 2025, and I have heard nothing since.

Well, Mr Bland, you got what you wanted. You’ve worn me down, and I’m too exhausted to deal with you any more. You’ve got away with it. You lied about your experience, it went wrong, and the only person paying for that is ME. And whilst I don’t have the capacity to fight you any further, I will certainly be sure to share my awful experience of you with anyone who will listen.

I am fully prepared for Mr Bland to write a reply to this review, full of excuses. He may even succeed in getting it removed. But everything I’ve said above is true and can be backed up. He should be ashamed of how he has treated me. But he probably isn’t.

Worst Customer Service

Although the date of the refit to my ensuite was over 3 years ago, I've still been getting issues - including an on-going leak as the soil stack was removed without securing and I had to pay for a roofer to sort it out.
I appreciate there will always be snagging and this isn't actually why I'm leaving such a low score. My quote included £400 for project management, and so my expectations were that I would have received a good level of customer service. This was absolutely not the case. There was no ownership of the fit from the company and all on-going issues were handled by one of the self employed plumbers.
I haven't been listened to throughout the whole process and every interaction has left me more frustrated. I suggest anyone wanting a new bathroom finds a company that values it's customers - unlike Ultimate Bathrooms
