The Fall of Dan
I'm angry with Dan, just to make a few coins they agreed to sell to their competitor Afternic who just took the customer file destroyed all the added value that Dan brought to the market.

Unacceptable Experience with dan.com – Domain Transfer Nightmare
I am deeply frustrated with the terrible experience I have had with dan.com, afternic, godaddy and the associated services during what should have been a straightforward domain ownership process. Here is the detailed sequence of events that unfolded:
Initial Lease-to-Own Setup:
I had purchased a domain on a lease-to-own plan through Dan.com, paying installments for 10 months without fail. Unfortunately, when my card expired, I missed the 11th installment. Despite this, I still had a 12-day grace period to make the payment and secure the domain.
Migration Confusion:
During the grace period, I received an email from Dan.com informing me that the domain had been migrated to GoDaddy. I was instructed to create a GoDaddy account and make all future transactions there. I promptly followed the instructions and created the account, but the domain did not appear in my GoDaddy account, preventing me from making the payment.
The Endless Blame Game:
Seeking help, I contacted Dan.com support and was redirected to Afternic. Afternic, in turn, redirected me to GoDaddy. GoDaddy then sent me back to Afternic. This endless cycle of finger-pointing continued for over a week, wasting precious time while my domain hung in limbo.
Domain Listed for Sale:
Eventually, I discovered that the domain had been listed for sale on GoDaddy. On December 19th, I purchased the domain outright (Order Number: 3471673226), thinking this would finally resolve the issue. However, even after successfully completing the purchase, the domain has not been transferred to my account.
Lack of Accountability:
GoDaddy claims that Afternic is responsible for the domain transfer, while Afternic insists it is GoDaddy’s responsibility. I have been following up relentlessly, only to be told that the transaction and transfer team is trying to contact the seller for the transfer. This lack of accountability and clear communication between teams is simply unacceptable.
Impact on Business:
My business activities are at a complete standstill due to this delay. We have now lost almost two weeks in this chaotic and poorly handled process. This has caused significant disruption, financial loss, and immense frustration.
Final Thoughts:
The migration from Dan.com to GoDaddy has been nothing short of a disaster, and Afternic’s role in this process has been utterly disappointing. The lack of coordination, accountability, and urgency has turned a simple domain transaction into a nightmare.
I urge dan.com and its associated partners to take immediate action to resolve this situation. Customers should not have to endure such poor service and endless delays. This experience has left me questioning the reliability of your services, and I cannot recommend them to anyone based on my ordeal.

SOLVED: Watch out for DAN/GoDaddy
EDIT: they later apologized, fixed the situation, and explained that it was a technical error. The full story is below.
We were leasing a domain name for several months, but they canceled it without any reason, notification, or explanation. One day, the domain just stopped working. We even have 2-day-old emails from their team saying that we made the last payment. Now, our website and all email profiles are not working. If you are considering partnering with DAN.com or GoDaddy, we would definitely not suggest it. We spent several months building our website and gaining customers, as well as hundreds of euros, and now everything is gone.

This has been the worst domain…
This has been the worst domain experience I've had in over 25 years of building websites. They were acquired by godaddy and during their migration - still ongoing - I have had no access to my account dashboard in a month. The communication on the migration is poor. I've had to figure out a hacky solution in order to manage - which is extremely unstable and disruptive to my business. Their customer service is dismissive and take a full day to respond.
Buyer beware. I'll be glad when I'm dealing directly with GoDaddy and not them.

Sad that Dan.com is still allowing unauthorized listings of domains for sale
Dealing with Dan.com has been extremely frustrating for me. Again, I find this month that various domain sellers on their platform have posted my domains for sale without my permission.
One apparent domain front-running account has been especially troublesome. This rogue seller has reposted my domains multiple times, even after previously having the unauthorized listings removed.
Dan.com has a very apparent need to start verifying that any listing is actually authorized by the owner. Allowing anyone to post someone else's domain for sale, without permission, is not good.
Note that as of 8/27/2024, 53 unauthorized listings were removed by Dan, but they are refusing to place a block to prevent this from happening again. So basically my rating now is "zero stars."
