Never received an order from Dec 2023 and no response from their so-called customer service.

Order two comics over a month ago and still haven't received them I emailed them and the sent to another company they calab with I guess but that company kept giving me the run around kept saying we will send them but never did finally I ask for a refund and they gave me my money back only reason they received two stars don't recommend them at all

Unknown Comic has the worst customer service. No one ever answers the phone. I purchased a CGC Spider-Boy 1 in 08/2023. Today is 08/16/2025 still no CGC book. All they keep doing is emailing me an excuse on why I haven’t received my CGC book. Unknown Comics has shady practices . Unknown Comics is stealing from customers.

They will charge you visa and take your money and deliver nothing ... or cheaper books and run out your visa ... Darren Hutchinson and his brother have a history of this .. just google reviews

These clowns charged my husband for expensive books ... Sent him cheap books instead ... Then ran out his visa protection ... Darren and Chris Hutchinson ... Just google the reviews and avoid unless you like getting ripped off

Wowzers—wish I’d read others reviews of these guys before buying from them direct.

I’ve bought several times from Unknown Comics through eBay and have received damaged books nearly every time. Each time there were delays in communication and twice the replacement books were also damaged.

Foolishly I tried one more time and ordered directly from Unknown. Again, several books were damaged. 27 emails later I finally received some replacements (they refused to replace them all) and, once again, several of the replacements were also damaged. Now they say the damage was USPS’s fault despite clear evidence to the contrary—an attempt to palm me off and make me file a false claim for insurance.

Never ever going to buy here again. I can’t believe they’re still in business.

If I could I would give them no stars this place is truly trash the owner and the employees are very rude and does not give you any refunds or store credit. They take forever to deliver theu over charge for things you. An gey on other comic stores for way less.

Horrible customer service, unwilling to help when problems arise. They advertise sales and do not honor them. I asked about how to get help on their Facebook posts since email got no response and they just blocked me. Buyer beware.

Worst online store ever looks all and good until you order do not order from these guys wish I would have read online first there store is so bad they charged you hidden shipping and the customer service is so bad I hope they shut this store down illegal practices Darren Hutchinson your a shame to the comic industry shame on you bud.

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with an online comic retailer.

In March I placed my first ever order with them as they had a hardcover I needed and was getting hard to find marked as in-stock. They quickly marked it as fulfilled and provided a tracking number. In the deluge of emails they sent after (and seriously; you will get a TON of emails from them wanting you to spend more) I saw that they had a good sale, and maybe a week and a half after that first order, I placed a second order as there was a TPB they had marked as in-stock that I needed and was also getting hard to find, as well as some other easy to find books I needed as the sale price was good. Because the second order was multiple books, it took a while for them to mark it as fulfilled and to add a tracking number, but understandable given it was several books.

And then the tracking on both orders just sat unchanging for months, marked as fulfilled on their site, and the tracking listed as pre-shipment with USPS waiting for them to drop the two packages off.

After 1.5 months I reached out via email to check on the order, and was given a bullsh*t run-around answer about they just moved locations and that my orders would ship soon. After 2 months I checked in again on facebook messenger, and again got the same bullsh*t run-around answer about the location change and that my orders would ship soon. After 3 months I emailed again and got no response. I then tried facebook messenger again and yet again got the same bullsh*t run-around answer about location change and will ship soon. Until someone was FINALLY on top of it and honest with me today after 3 months and told me they dont actually have the 2 hard to find books I made the orders for, but would I like something else instead?

I called my bank and am now disputing the charges, as I have been waiting over 3 freaking months for them to ship, and they just kept lying to me that it would ship soon, when they either didnt have the books I ordered to begin with, or they sold them to someone else in the long 3 months I was waiting for them to ship my orders. It's absolutely intolerable that they wasted over 3 months of my time lying to me about having the books I ordered and lying about when they would ship.

This company has terrible reviews on their facebook page. Every review but one post-pandemic is rotten with people having awful experiences. On yelp, they have 1.4 out of 5 stars, and the only reason the rating there isn't lower is because the lowest score you can give is 1 star, not zero. The Better Business Bureau rating is a F, and its not hard to see why. If you search Unknown Comics on reddit, its several people warning everyone against using them, and I wish I had noticed those and listened. Google their name, and a ton of bad experience stories come up.

Absolutely do not buy from Unknown Comics. Zero stars. All you are going to get is jerked around and lied to for a long time and you will not get your order as ordered. This is easily the worst comic book retailer I have ever seen in over 40 years of collecting.

For an international collector this is probably the worst place to buy comics. Customer service is non-existent, duties are not calculated nor information is given about them, months to get package ready. I paid €32.95 for First Class Package International, another €1.95 for Route Package Protection and I had to add €41 to collect the package. Slow, unprofessional, now ridiculous prices for incentives and variants, after 15 years as collector i still have these online comic shops changing the whole sector for the worse.

All you need to know about this seller and its manager, Darren Hutchinson, is found in the many Better Business Bureau complaints filed against them. Bait and switch practices, no fulfillment of orders, ignores all communications with customers once they've paid, and no refunds unless forced through a payment mediator (like Paypal).
Their sister-company, "Street Level Heroes LA" is guilty of the same business acumen.
