Upgaming provides the platform…
Upgaming provides the platform infrastructure behind multiple online casino brands, yet there is very little transparency around how that infrastructure is used.
In my case, transactions were linked to operators using this platform that were targeting UK consumers, but payments were not clearly identifiable as gambling and were routed through third-party processors.
When issues were raised, there was no clear route to accountability — the operator, the processor, and the platform provider all point elsewhere.
This creates a situation where:
Consumers cannot clearly identify who they are transacting with
Payments are processed without transparent merchant identification
Responsibility is fragmented across multiple entities
As a platform provider, Upgaming is a key part of this structure. Without that infrastructure, these operations cannot function.
Where a platform is enabling third-party operators, there should be clear standards around transparency, consumer protection, and accountability.
At present, those standards are not visible.
