Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the quality of products, citing issues such as components failing prematurely, screens developing lines, and laptops overheating. Reviewers also frequently encountered problems with customer service, describing it as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to reach. The warranty process was a major point of contention, with many finding claims denied for minor reasons or being charged for repairs on new or under-warranty items. Additionally, the pricing of products was often seen as too high given the perceived poor quality and lack of support. Some people were dissatisfied with product specifications not matching advertised features, like HDMI ports lacking expected functionalities. There were also occasional reports of products arriving with missing parts, such as HDD trays.

Trash

Trash. Waste of money. Worst laptop I’ve ever bought. Doesn’t even work for work, let alone gaming.

This is the worst computer ever

This is the worst computer ever. I bought a laptop one year and a half ago and I am so disappointed with the quality and performance. After one year the computer starts turning off by itself and taking ages to turning on again. Now, it stops definitely. So, my truly advice is to stay away from MSI.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I purchased two MSI $170 monitors at Costco 2 years ago. One of the monitors have green lines going through the screen. I requested warranty service since it is covered for 3 years. Turns out that they do not pay for the shipping and the shipping is the same price as buying a new monitor. I thought I was dealing with a reputable company and stands behind there product. Wow, was I wrong!! DO NOT BUY MSI PRODUCTS!!

Your customer support employee saved you a couple of bucks!

Redeem action with horrible conditions.

I bought a couple of MSI devices and registration on website was easy to do. Fill in CHK number etc for extended warranty.

I also saw that there were redeemable items like steam credit.

And this is where it goes wrong.
I provided the following stuff:
- Invoice
- picture of the S/N on box

Rejected by the team.
I need to provide a picture of my motherboard which is already installed…

Next step:
I provided a screenshot of my system that it shows that I installed it

Rejected again.

They expect me to open my pc, tear off my AIO, let me redo my cable management for a little picture of a S/N with a CHK number which I already provided when registering for my warranty.

Ok MSI and customer support. You can choke on your maybe $10-15 of Steam credit. Such a big company. Clowns!

Unfortunately I can’t send the items back but I’ll never recommend MSI to people because their attitude towards customers and go for an other brand to build my pc.

Top-End Laptop, Bottom-Tier Service - AVOID MSI

Bought an MSI GE78 HX (RTX 4090/i9) for roughly £4,000 when new. A few weeks after the warranty expired it died. MSI’s own diagnosis confirmed a catastrophic board-level hardware failure - burnt PCB laminate, i.e., an internal power/rail fault. That should have triggered a serious, customer-first response. Instead, support became a maze of contradictions and stonewalling.

I was told it was “not repairable – no parts,” then offered a €316 repair, then told it was “irreparable, no boards exist,” and finally quoted nearly £2,500 to “repair” it - more than buying a brand-new GE78 today!

MSI refused to provide ADR details when asked, repeated “out of warranty” as if that ends the discussion, and leaned on the retailer’s insolvency (Ebuyer) rather than offering the remedy any functioning retailer would escalate upstream to MSI under a normal supply relationship.

I raised durability (Consumer Rights Act 2015) because a £4k “premium” laptop should last well beyond two years; MSI essentially acknowledged that if Ebuyer were still trading, this would be the correct route. But instead of acting on this, chose to hide behind Ebuyers insolvency and use it as a get-out-of-jail-free card to not do anything. Untenable!

This isn’t premium support; it’s a tactic to wear customers down. When things break, MSI stonewalls, shifts blame, and prices you out.

A manufacturer-confirmed internal failure followed by a repair quote higher than a new machine is not support - it’s anti-customer.

I won’t touch MSI again, and I’d strongly urge others to avoid being left with an expensive paperweight.

I am upset at this company

I am upset at this company. I had to get rid of my computer because it has an MSI motherboard that has a poorly thought out MSI override on the fan speed that ensured the fans are on no matter what the temperature of the internal thermometers is. The fans can't be at a zero speed even if the temperature is 30 degrees celsius. I ordered a new computer and to my horror, it also has an MSI motherboard (it was not listed on the purchase page). I wish they had an inkling of sense to allow the user to set their own fan curves, but I am sure that this decision came from arrogance about knowing what's best. They have "protected" me from being able to use the PC I waited a month for because they refused to do as other companies have done and allow users to change their own fan curves. I am imagining their thought process as they read this..."Could we have been wrong in doing this? No, it is the customers who are wrong. Carry on." If you are worried about liability, you can give a warning when the users change the fan speed.

Terrible product quality and horrible customer support.

Less than three months of ownership, the DYNAMIC DASHBOARD III of the MSI Z890 GODLIKE is already failing; frequently making usb disconnects and reconnects and the component keeps crashing and restarting.

After looking deeply into this, this has been a very long running issue with MSI, and an RMA is truly pointless as it could months until you get your motherboard back, which you have to send in with the faulty component or they will not service it.

MSI Customer support took weeks between responding to my email messages regarding this troublesome matter.

For a $1,400.00 USD motherboard, this is grossly insulting and downright rotten that this is a continuing issue that plagues multiple motherboards from MSI. It MUST be intentional.

Avoid MSI. That is the best advice that could be provided in regard to this matter. Your money is better spent elsewhere. This is the first and definitely the last time we will ever purchase an MSI product. The frequency of the faulty dynamic dashboard issue is too severe to ever comfortably purchase from MSI again.

MSI 3/3 pieces of absolute garbage

I have 3 MSI products and they are all garbage and had I known what I do now I would never have purchased these products.

Gaming Laptop - overheats and blue screens

Desktop Motherboard - Can't figure out what hard drive to boot windows from even tho I've taken it to multiple PC repair stores, watched hours of tutorials and have had programmer friends attempt to fix it. The product is just a piece of garbage.

Meg 342C OLED monitor - Paid BIG money for this monitor, I believe at the time it was $2200. This monitor has a great picture but it has the most annoying feature possible. The monitor has a "panel protect" feature where the monitor will force its self into standby for about 15 to 20 minutes to do some sort of cool down or "panel protection. Imagine you're raiding with your guild and the boss is at 10% hp, finally after hours and hours of wiping it looks like you might get the kill... then your monitor goes into standby and leaves you unable to play. Or even worse, imagine playing some sort of hardcore or 1 life only game and you have hours and hours into the character and then the monitor goes into standby and you die... MSI makes nothing but garbage products and I will never buy another MSI product ever again.

MSI Held My $1,529 Hostage After FedEx Lost My Laptop — Refused Refund Until They Get Paid

I ordered a laptop directly from MSI’s US store. FedEx lost it in transit. After multiple calls and an investigation, FedEx admitted in writing that the package was unrecoverable.

I provided MSI with everything they asked for — camera footage, tracking screenshots, Proof-of-Delivery contradictions, FedEx’s official loss confirmation. MSI then filed their own claim with FedEx.

That’s where the whole experience went from frustrating to unacceptable:

• MSI flat-out refused to send a replacement.
• Worse, they refused to issue a refund until FedEx pays them back (transferring all of the risk to the customer).
• They also tried to discourage me from filing a chargeback with my credit card company (a common tactic for companies that know they are in the wrong).

So despite FedEx already confirming the package was lost, MSI expected me to wait — several weeks, possibly months — with neither the laptop nor my $1,529. In other words, MSI protects themselves first and leaves their customer assuming all the risk.

Any decent retailer (Amazon, Best Buy, Micro Center, even small shops) refunds the customer immediately once a shipment is declared lost. MSI’s stance is basically to hold their customer's money hostage until they get reimbursed.

This was my first and last time buying anything from MSI. If anything goes wrong with shipping, you're on your own. I’ll never purchase another MSI product again.

MSI ignored my warranty claim for a defective SSD

I bought an MSI SPATIUM M482 PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 2TB (serial number S78440Q730P8310347003265). Since the first day the SSD has been completely defective and never recognized in any BIOS or system. I tested it on multiple computers and it never worked. I contacted MSI many times through their website, support tickets, emails and social media, but I have never received a real solution. I lost more than one hundred dollars on a product that never worked and MSI has ignored me. Please contact me directly at nury0621... gmail
to resolve this issue. I expect either a refund or a replacement.

You'll overspend and be underwhelmed

This company and its products are simply terrible. I overspent on a desktop computer, figuring it would reduce the risk of the problems laptops often have.

I was wrong.

Not only does not constantly freeze in the middle of projects and important meetings and livestreams, but it's backed by "support" people who have no interest in solving your problem.

I made 10 attempts to fix a problem and each one told me something different. I was told to factory reset. I was told to uninstall and reinstall drivers. I was told to return the computer to the store (I ordered it online from Toronto). Everyone's "solution" was different and each one resulted in me being disconnected and having to explain the entire scenario to the next person on the other side of the world.

Now I'm stuck with this thing. Its fast processor absolutely does not balance out its constant freezing up and requiring forced reboots (and lost work). I wish I had never heard of this company and never purchased this particular computer.

£1200 MSI Katana 17 failed after just 18 months – MSI refused to help

I bought an MSI Katana 17 gaming laptop from Laptops Direct in November 2023 for over £1,000. After only 18 months the screen backlight failed, making the laptop almost unusable.

Despite the premium price, MSI UK only provides 12 months warranty, while in many other countries MSI offers 24 months for the exact same gaming laptops. I provided proof of purchase, but MSI simply told me the warranty expired and refused to help.

Very disappointing for a brand that markets itself as “gaming quality.” Customers in the UK clearly get worse treatment than elsewhere, even though we pay the same high prices.

I will never buy MSI again and would strongly advise others to think twice before spending so much money on a product that may not even last 2 years, with no meaningful support afterwards.

Top laptop

Hello everyone. I bought a Raider GE78 HX 14VIG laptop, it was a top laptop at the time of purchase - $ 3,000. Three months ago. After two months, the right fan started humming, then the right speaker rattled. And the laptop started turning off in games. I tried different fan modes. It only doesn't turn off if I turn on maximum speed and reduce the frequency of the graphics processor. The support says repairs will take 14-30 days. But for repairs I will need to fly to the mainland and wait there or come back later. And these are large expenses. I don't understand how they can make such low-quality goods for such a lot of money.

Stay away, defective junk.

Joining the people warning you not to buy MSI computers. I bought one. Paid 2000$ for a new laptop. From day one the battery would drain itself even while shutdown and quick start options dissabled. After many trouble shooting steps, still the same problem. MSI support: absolutley useless. Other people also sent in theirs and had it returned to them with the same problems or worse problems in many cases. They might have been a decent company at one point, but they've gone straight into the shitter now. Avoid MSI or you just might regret it. Serves me right for following peoples recomendations on the brand.
