Best customer service experience ever.

I had trouble with my computer. I knew it was my error, but still couldn't figure it out. I called customer support and after 1 ring, 1!, it was answered by a real live person, who knew exactly what I needed to do to get my camera to work, what button I needed to push to get the keyboard to light up again, and how to make the colors on my screen show more accurately. I spent literally hours going through settings, trying this and that. All to no avail. I finally gave up and prepared to spend the rest of my morning on hold by calling customer service. But, wow! I am always, always more interested how a company responds to a problem than almost anything else about the product. There are always problems with something, whether it is your air conditioner, your car, or your computer. I had a service call for my dishwasher once and it was all because I wasn't holding a button down long enough.
The point is when things work perfectly you don't think about them. When they don't, you really want the best customer service out there. I have never had better than this. Ever.

I love my MSI

I love my MSI. I have had it for two weeks, and the experience has been amazing.

Update. It's been 2 years and I'm still in love. It's still very fast, reliable, and I couldn't have asked for a better laptop!

MSI notebook fine, customer service not so much

Happy with the Modern 14 notebook I bought from MSI US store this summer. Unhappy about how poor their customer support is. I paid $35 for a restore USB drive from MSI support because the partition on drive was missing. They sent me a version of Windows 10 that was 1909 which isn't even supported anymore. Not to mention it loaded Nvidia drivers my notebook doesn't even need it only has Intel graphics. I ended up just restoring using Microsoft media tool to make a Windows 10 image. Their system of updating Bios is rather old school too. Have to create bootable USB with Bios image which is just a pain. Don't intend on buying another MSI product in the future.

The worst experience I had with a company. Product (gpu) bought in November of 2020, still under warranty, right fan needs to be replaced and they won’t offer any solution, even though there is no physical damage. I tried a lot with the seller and the manufacturer to find a solution but nada. The last time I buy anything from this company.

Msi had this deal on where you purchase…

Msi had this deal on where you purchase a said item and you can get £50-£100 steam credit.
Well a month and a half later we are still trying to get this credit off them.
Everything they’ve asked us to send so far as proof of purchase we’ve done, registration of items to on their website and still getting messed about senseless.
Absolutely shocking service,
They have a uk phone number but no matter what options you try it basically tells you to open a ticket request so you have to wait until the next day to get another reply asking for even more evidence of the purchase.
What do they actually want? A video of me walking into a shop and purchasing the items at the till and send you a copy of receipt?, a photo and name of the sales person?, the time?
They have had the purchase information, they have had the dates and so on, the items have already being registered on their site the same day purchased,
But oh no we are still getting messed about.
The main selling point of these gaming monitors was the £50-£100 steam credit as was for my sons birthday and the credit was an extra bonus for him.
So not have you only done my head in beyond belief, you’ve also put a right dampener on my sons birthday, absolutely discussing!!!
After speaking to citizens advise, they have already confirmed that everything you’ve received is well more than enough evidence for msi to honour their agreement about the steam credit.
So if no joys by tomorrow it looks like a small claims court application is going in as you’ve sold items under false pretences as it’s becoming more obvious each day they have no intention of honouring their blag sales tactics.
£400 for 2 monitors whilst on sale, £1100 whilst not on sale.
Now with that amount of money passing hands they would have the common decency of giving what was promised.
Never again will I purchase a product from this company and I so hope nothing actually goes wrong with them in the Warrenty period as I can imagine the run around I’ll have getting it repaired, if I actually manage to that is as the contact numbers they have to speak to an actual person “THEY STATE” is a joke as impossible to get to speak to anyone and I’ve tried every single option in every single way and always ends up by stating OPEN A TICKET REQUEST!!!!

I bought a laptop MSI Prestige PE62 8RD and had some issues with spares. The answer from MSI support service is that they do not have their own pieces so the reparation was not possible. Expensive laptop to retire within a couple of years due to lack of replacement parts. Do not buy from MSI!

Msi lacking durability

Msi modern lacking durability for sure, within a month of use the already bad speakers do not work at all, function keys row is designed purposely to be trash compared to much higher spec models, then within 6 months the charging connector doesnt snap into place, and if you try to force it in to charge you connector will overheat and melt, absolutely awful product, MSI feel free to contact me to resolve or i wont be upgrading.

Terrible quality

I purchased a GE66 laptop about 18 months ago.

After less than six months, the screen broke open even though I barely moved the laptop around (it was during the lockdown).

Now, the keyboard keys suddenly stop working one by one for no apparent reason.

Geez, a 2500$ gaming laptop that won't last one year and a half...How am I supposed to write my university essays with a non-functional keyboard?

Quite honestly, this is the worst laptop I've ever purchased.

Not only are MSI products incredibly…

Not only are MSI products incredibly overpriced for their terrible quality, but their customer service is also non-existent. They have been trash for years and I try to avoid them if at all possible, but I recently had to buy one of their horribly made graphics cards, because their was no other available option. I have been building custom computers since 1998 and MSI has been on the bottom of my list for most of that time, because they are consistently terrible products. I bought a graphics card from them and it was DOA. I held it for a few weeks, to try it on a couple of different cpu/motherboard combos, just to make sure it was the issue. I returned it for a refund well within the refund window. They held onto it for 6 weeks, then emailed me saying it was no longer within the return window and that I had to send it in for repair instead. Outright thieves!!!!!! Never again!!!!!

Terrible Customer Service

Terrible Customer Service. I bought a Katana GF76 In October 2021. The battery regularly drains, even when plugged in and SOMETIMES when no games are running. I contacted MSI and their response is, pack up this 1k+ laptop, pay for shipping and we'll get it back to you when we can. In the meantime, we hope you have a backup gaming laptop to maintain the game status you paid to maintain. Samsung at least sends a tech to you, if you are in warranty. My battery is at 59% and I haven't even played a game today [travel day].

Look to a different company first

I purchased my first MSI laptop, a GT70, in 2012 and was blown away. It was durable, fast, and the time it had an issue, MSI tech support was fantastic. So much has changed over the last ten years. When the GT70 eventually died after 8 great years, Covid was dominating the world, and, being bedridden, I went back to the company I had trust in, and after being reassured by an IT friend about the durability, purchased a GS75 Stealth, also known as buyer’s remorse.

The GS75 stealth is unable to play games comfortably unless the fans are on the highest, cooler-boosted, setting, and what a cacophony; on quiet days the noise can be heard down the hall. That remained true even after I UNDERclocked it. That trait, coupled with appearingly-poor fan filtration, caused two fans to squeal horribly to their premature deaths within the first year. I sent it back to have the fans replaced, and the headphone jack which was 100% my fault, and after a long month, it returned with the diagnosis of dust and life in the fans.

I began to blow compressed air in before, during (periodically), and after use, as I do not have personal control over my environment beyond that. Even so, one fan died a couple months ago, but it limped on using the remaining cooling system. A few days ago the second fan died another noisy death, this time with the smell of electrical fire, and I can safely say MSI does not care (if I could post a picture, you would see). After tech support showed indifference, I did have a lovely conversation with a customer support representative that I believe did everything she could for me, but she hit all the internal roadblocks one would expect higher ups to install to insulate them from what, to them, could be minutia.

All I was offered is to pay through the nose to send it in for them to replace the heat sink, which I can’t afford. I left the whole experience with a part number and a terror that when I can afford it, I’m going to make a mistake while installing, and be cut off from my communities entirely. That’s not even the worst case scenario, as the burn through the paper makes me worry it will spontaneously catch fire someday and MSI will just point the finger at me.

Beyond the aforementioned performance contradictions, using the laptop has been equally disappointing. The tops of the keys began to rub off within months. The amount of heat put out through the bottom, even with the fans on highest setting, is able to mildly burn the skin. The cylinder on the cord is significantly wider than the laptop itself, meaning it doesn’t sit comfortably and often becomes partly unplugged unless the left side of the laptop aligns with the surface below. I didn’t even care about any of that, I figured they must have been innocent oversights or mistakes, and as long as the laptop could perform I’d do my part and make it work. It’s clear, now, that I was naive and that this branch of MSI’s business is not a priority to them. Buyer beware.

Do not buy from MSI...

I ordered the MSI GP66 Leopard, and it is truly terrible. The backlight bleeding, multiple dead pixels, 45 minute battery life (WITH battery saver), the worst drivers and software I have ever experienced, probably the worst quality I have ever seen in a laptop, the surprisingly low performance compared to other brands, bad webcam and microphones, extremely loud fans that don't do a thing to cool the laptop among countless other things are the reason I am rating MSI 2 stars. Please do NOT buy from this company. The only reason that this is not 1 star is because of the kind customer support.

Crap

They remove drivers from their site entirely for mobos. The BIOS downloads are still their, but if you click on driver, or utility the entire page just stops working. It gives you an endless loading ring, and makes it impossible to click out of.

They literally soft crash your PC. Now I'm afraid to reinstall windows cause the drivers might not be there to download later.

Pls dont buy a MSI

I purchased an MSIGL638RC in 2018. Since I got it I have faced the following issues:
1. Laptop screen hinge breaks regularly. - Got it repaired but the screen keeps popping off. -
Solution: Got a new one but of no help so I had to use Feviquik to glue it.
2. Battery adapter conked off in 2 years - Had to run from pillar to post to get a new one.
3. Upgraded from win10 to win 11 and its as slow as a snail... or a turtle..may be they are faster.
4. Last week my laptop crashed and i could not do a factory reset as the blue screen kept coming in a loop.
Solution: Went to the service center in Hyderabad by they behaved in such a bad way I took it back.
Called up the service center number (022 4912 5588). They asked me to send an email and told me they will send me the link to the OS which I can install on my own. That was on March 30th and today is 6th April. I have been following up and they keep saying they will send it... I think all the MSI laptops are so bad that the technical support team does not have time to send me the OS link. I have been told my hard disk is not ok and needs to be replaced!!!
I told them my next laptop wont be a MSI...
