Mattia and his crew are second to none. The whole experience from start to finish was perfect. I have done 2 trips with Vago and it only got better the second time around. Mattia really cares that you have a great time. He is personally vested in your happiness. He stays with you on the rides up the mountains, as well as on the way down. He really enjoys sharing his beautiful country with you and wants you to see everything there is to be seen. The routes are well planned and always available for you to download. As far as the bikes he provides, they're top quality rides that are well maintained. I didn't miss my bike at home at all. The biggest surprise were the activities he plans for you.
It could be wine tasting or perhaps a cooking class. My favorite adventure was a trip to the cycling museum in Ghisallo. The accommodations were all clean and well placed. The breakfasts were perfect for a day of riding up huge mountains. The food all around made the trip worthwhile. Mattia spares no expenses at making sure you are well fed. You never walk out of any restaurant hungry or disappointed with your meal. In fact there is too much food. This is by far the most organized tour you will get in Italy because the owner of the company rides with you!!! I'm planning my 3rd trip with him and hopefully I'll get a fourth trip!

Vago cycling helped us arrange an incredible cycling trip to the Italian alps, including lodging, logistics etc. They worked to create our route from Bormio- Canazai (200km) as well as supported us throughout the ride. Would definitely recommend if your planning a cycling trip to the Italian alps.

The only honest feedback I can give you is that it was really an amazing experience. Routes were awesome, great bikes with perfect fit at the arrival, couldn`t be more helpful with garage, Carolina`s package in Milan and so many small things that you facilitated with a smile in the face. We really hope to be back soon (maybe explore other regions in Italy!) and we are definitely recommending to brazillian friends.

Mattia was a pleasure to work with. He rode with us 1 day, and was our SAG support and route creator a second day when we rode from Bormio to Canazei. Excelent experience. I was in Bormio for 4 nights. The pre-arranged accommodation was very good. Nice comfortable room, clean bathroom, very good breakfast. The bicycle I was offered was perfect for the ride.
I did not book a regular tour, but Mattia made an exception and organized the package that I needed. He even recommended a better ride than I had planned.
I am very happy I found Vago / Mattia. A very good experience all around.

Great experience with the recently completed Italian Alps trip. Challenging - 7 passes in 7 days - with views to match. Stelvio, Gavia and Mortirolo on consecutive days should be on everyone's wish list. Owner/guide Mattia was raised in the area and it shows. Driver Michele also works at the local bike shop and kept all well tuned. Hotels and restaurants are owned by friends. There is time for winery tours and Roman baths but the non-cycling parts I appreciated were visits to family mountain huts and impromptu walk throughs of 300 year old homes that were in the family. From Bormio to Lake Como this is beautiful cycling territory. Will be signing up for a ride with Mattia through Abruzzi, hopefully 2023.

Had a fantastic week long cycling trip in the Italian alps and Lake Como with Vago Cycling. Mattia and Michele did a wonderful job planning, guiding, and supporting each daily route. Bikes were high-quality Trek carbon road bikes. Food, wine, and accommodations were excellent. Sag support throughout the journey was also excellent. I would definitely recommend Vago cycling and personally plan to do another trip with them in the future.

This was my tenth organized bike trip and biking with Vago was my favorite! I loved biking with Mattia and his team. There were several reasons for this. First, the routes he chose to take us on were iconic. Many were famous Girod’Italia climbs and others were quiet country roads.

Second, the lunches were not at busy restaurants with long delays, but rather served in a park out of the back of his SAG wagon. And they were cooked by his mom! This maximized our riding and the food was great. Third, along the way we interacted with many of his friends that supported the trip. From the bike shop owner to the partner of his SAG support we got to know a lot of local people on this trip. We felt like family. Finally, his choice of hotels was wonderful. All were relatively small family run inns that really cared about our experience.

I can’t wait to sign up with Mattia again for another trip!

I don't think I can say enough about how much we enjoyed our tour and time with Mattia. I enlisted Mattia to help me plan a two-day bike adventure with my 15-year-old son while we were traveling in Abruzzo. Mattia took my son's advanced cycling ability and my intermediate ability into consideration and found us two rides (one to the coast and one to the mountains) that started from our hotel. He accommodated our every need, including coming in advance with the bikes to make sure we were sized correctly. Mattia is a food lover, as am I, and he also recommended that we try a local specialty, brodetto, at the end of our first ride for lunch. My dad met us there, and it was the highlight of our trip. Mattia knew the owner and we were treated to an extremely special experience. He was great with my bike-obsessed kid on the ride but never made me feel like I was holding them up. I recommend with Mattia without reservation.

We met good, professional and accurate people who made our riding experience a great social riding experience.
Know every place in the area and if I was hesitant at first whether we need a guide - without a doubt the experience is completely different along with them.
With us was Mattia who we will also be a very close friend.

My partner Mike and I just returned from an incredible 5 day private cycling tour though Abruzzo with Vago Cycling. The entire experience exceeded our expectations.

Mattia has an incredible passion and knowledge for cycling, which came across in our initial video call with him and continued to shine throughout our entire trip.

Mattia tailored the routes to our needs and abilities, making it enjoyable for both my partner and I who have varying levels of cycling experience. We were blown away by how scenic the routes were, each offering breathtaking views and a unique experience. Michele, our ride support, was always near by if we needed water, fuel, or assistance during our ride - he's also incredible at capturing photos and cheering you on!

The accommodation were outstanding, all with incredible hospitality - we were treated like family. Mattia arrange for us to stay very unique hotels/villas/B&B, each offering an authentic experience of the towns and villages we were staying in.

We had so many incredible home-cooked lunches prepared by Michele (pasta, salads, fresh meats and cheeses, etc.) - his cooking is outstanding! Lunches were enjoyed along our routes, offering a scenic backdrop. We also enjoyed delicious dinners at carefully selected restaurants, allowing us to savour in the local cuisine. Prior to our trip Mattia asked both of us to fill out a survey where we could note any allergies or dietary restrictions.

Mattia and Michele are both incredible, it was such a pleasure spending 5 days with them! They were both easy going, knowledgeable, fun, and incrediblely accommodating. I highly recommend booking your next cycling trip with Vago, you'll have the best time of your life. My partner and I cannot wait to book another trip with Mattia and his team!

My girlfriend and I spent four days cycling in Abruzzo, Italy with Mattia and Michele from Vago cycling. We had an incredible time. The hotels, food, and cycling were all amazing. Mattia and Michele were such friendly and welcoming staff.

Mattia tailored all of the rides to our abilities and was super adaptive to our preferences. All the food we ate was incredible, especially the home cooked meals on top of a mountain for lunch.

Could not recommend Vago enough.

Our cycling trip to Abruzzo with Mattia and his team was brilliant. Mattia has found unique accommodation which was spotlessly clean and comfortable. He has found the best local restaurants serving great food and wine. The cycling itself was superb. Mattia is an excellent ride leader who judged our abilities to perfection and was flexible in our daily routes, always willing to discuss the best options. We cycled through an amazing variety of scenery in a short distance. Abruzzo is truly a hidden gem. Picnic lunches were delicious and plentiful, taken at carefully chosen beauty spots. Nothing was too much trouble for Mattia who went the extra mile to ensure a perfect trip. I highly recommend Vago cycling to anyone who loves cycling and enjoys combining a challenging ride with great local cuisine and accommodation. Five stars without hesitation.

This was the best trip of my life. Vago organized a two-week trip from Abruzzo to Bormio which included plenty of cycling, wine tasting, eating, city-visting.. It was simply spectacular. I cycled through beautiful cities that otherwise I would not have seen, up famous routes that the Giro has done..

The accommodations were excellent, the restaurant choices were delicious, the cycling routes were magnificent.

Our original plan included 4-days of cycling in Abruzzo but the forecast was rain for nearly all four days. Vago quickly made a Plan B and we found our way cycling throughout Veneto and the Prosecco hills. I really appreciated how they changed the schedule to ensure we could still cycle instead of being trapped indoors for 4 days!!

I cannot wait to go back next year!

Amazing guides, beautiful routes and incredible food and wine! Our guide Mattia was very knowledgeable and crafted a personalized tour for our group that was well aligned to skill level, building in lots of time to enjoy wonderful dinners and wine. We will definitely go on another trip with VAGO!

Our Giro d'Abruzzo trip with Vago exceeded our expectations in every way. Mattia (and our wonderful van driver/bike mechanic/philanthropist Michele) made the trip as smooth and seamless as possible. From incredible carbon fiber bicycles tailored to our specific measurements to well-planned routes to fabulous accommodations, the trip perfectly blended luxury, adventure, local cuisine/culture, and physical fitness (reaching the top of Campo Imperatore on the Gran Sasso was truly a highlight). Nightly dinners in quintessential restaurants across Abruzzo meant incredible food - of course pasta and pizza - but also a number of local specialties (arrosticini and brodetto being clear standouts). Each night of lodging brought a new adventure and included a stay at a winery, a Middle Ages village, a beautiful hillside villa, and the most incredible sunrise view of the Adriatic Sea. The cycling, food, and lodging were all great, but our lasting memories of the trip will be of Mattia and Michele. They were fun, accommodating, patient, and knowledgeable - we can't wait for another trip (but until then we have some more training to do!).
