7-Year Customer Warning: Duplicate Billing, Missed Compliance Deadlines, Spam Calls, and No Accountability from Vakilsearch / Zolvit
I’ve been a paying customer of Vakilsearch (now Zolvit) for around 7 years, and I’m posting this as a detailed account of my experience so others can make an informed decision. My early experience with them was reasonably smooth, but over the last year, the service quality has deteriorated sharply — especially in billing transparency, compliance handling, and customer support.
Duplicate Billing Despite Advance Payment (Unresolved for 8 Months)
The primary issue started 8 months ago when I noticed that a duplicate invoice had been generated for a compliance service that I had already paid for in advance. This wasn’t a small clerical error — it involved a significant amount and required immediate correction.
I raised this with my assigned account manager right away. He acknowledged it and promised to “check and revert.” After that, there was complete silence.
Over the next several months:
I followed up repeatedly via email and calls
I asked for escalation
I requested written clarification
I asked for correction of billing records
None of this resulted in resolution. The duplicate billing was never properly rectified, even after months.
Account Manager Became Completely Unresponsive
After a few initial responses, the account manager simply stopped replying altogether. No updates, no closure, no acknowledgment. This was particularly frustrating because they assign a “dedicated account manager” as a value proposition, but in reality, the role seemed limited to sales and renewals.
Continuous Spam Calls and Emails During Open Dispute
While my billing issue remained unresolved:
I received multiple spam calls pushing service renewals
I received frequent promotional emails
I received automated compliance reminders
Not a single one of these communications addressed my open issue. This clearly gave the impression that their systems prioritize sales pipelines over customer support.
Threatening Tone in Compliance Reminder Emails
Another major concern was the tone of compliance reminder emails. The language used was unnecessarily alarmist and threatening, implying severe consequences without context. This creates pressure rather than helping customers understand requirements. For a compliance service provider, this approach feels unprofessional and manipulative.
Missed Compliance Deadlines and Blame Shift
There were also instances where compliance deadlines were missed. When I questioned this, instead of acknowledging the delay, the responsibility was shifted to me.
In one particularly concerning case:
A deadline was missed
A penalty was incurred
I was told this was not a fine but a government fee
This explanation was misleading. It appeared to be an attempt to reframe a penalty caused by delay as a standard government charge. That level of transparency is unacceptable, especially for a compliance-focused service.
Had to Escalate via Social Media to Get Attention
After months of no response, I was forced to escalate through social media channels. Only then did I receive attention. Even after escalation:
It took three weeks of persistent follow-ups
I had to repeatedly push for resolution
I had to explicitly state that I would escalate further
Eventually, a refund was processed, but this happened only after sustained pressure. Even then, the duplicate billing and records were never properly cleaned up.
No Clear Escalation Path
Another major structural problem is the absence of a clear escalation hierarchy:
No defined escalation contacts
No structured complaint tracking
No timeline commitments
No case ownership
No resolution confirmation
You are essentially stuck with the same account manager, who may or may not respond.
Account Managers Seem to Function as Sales Reps
From my experience, the assigned account managers:
Focus on renewals
Push add-on services
Send quotes proactively
But do not handle issue resolution effectively
This makes them closer to sales representatives than customer success managers.

Zolvit is a total scam. I had booked an appointment for CA consultation (Ticket no #5606356) for today 8 PM and was expecting a call from their expert after the payment was done but no one called and customer service number is also unresponsive which keeps you on hold until you give up.
They are just looting the customers by first taking the payments and then completely ghosting them.

I am extremely disappointed with the services provided by Vakilsearch.
I have trusted them with the compliance work of my company, TANEESH WEB SOLUTIONS PVT LTD, since 2019. In addition, we entrusted them with all three of our trademark registrations and have consistently made all payments on time.
On 17th September 2025, I submitted our bank statement to Ms. Sofia Begum K, the assigned Account Manager. Since then, I have been following up regularly. Each time, I was informed that the RoC filing deadline had been extended.
However, the filing has still not been completed. Due to this delay, I am now being asked to pay a penalty of ₹22,000, along with additional charges to correct an issue that was not caused by me.
Recently, Mr. Ajithkumar John Anthony and Mr. Dinesh contacted me stating that the delay occurred because Ms. Sofia did not forward the submitted bank statement to the relevant department. This internal miscommunication or negligence is entirely on your team, and it is unacceptable that my company is now being asked to bear the financial consequences of your internal failure.
This is highly unprofessional and reflects a serious lack of accountability and responsibility toward clients.
Because of this negligence, my company is now exposed to unnecessary financial penalties and potential legal complications. As a business owner, I expect transparency, timely execution, and professional service. Unfortunately, my experience has been the exact opposite.
I strongly urge Vakilsearch to immediately resolve this matter by completing the pending compliance without imposing any additional charges. Alternatively, I request a full refund for the services that were not delivered as committed.
I am sharing this review to help other business owners make informed decisions before choosing a compliance service provider.

I availed Vakilsearch’s legal services for filing a civil suit and paid ₹35,000 on 12-07-2025 in advance.
From the beginning, my clear instruction was to file a civil suit, as I had already assessed that settlement was not possible. Despite this, the assigned advocate proceeded with an out-of-court settlement process. I was assured that if the settlement failed, the civil suit would be filed without any additional fees.
The settlement attempt involved preparing a basic settlement draft and limited communication with the opponent, but as expected, the settlement failed. After the failure, no civil suit or meaningful legal action was initiated, even after multiple follow-ups.
A partial refund of ₹19,500 was processed on 30-01-2026, which I appreciate, although it took around 7 months. However, the remaining ~40% amount has been retained by Vakilsearch, and I was informed that this amount was charged for the settlement draft and advocate communication.
This is concerning because:
The settlement process was carried out against my clear instructions
I had explicitly stated that settlement was not feasible
The primary service I paid for—filing a civil suit—was never delivered
As a result, I lost both time and money, while the core legal objective remained unaddressed.
Overall, while the partial refund is acknowledged, my experience was below expectations due to deviation from instructions, delayed resolution, and incomplete service delivery. Better alignment with client consent, transparency in fee usage, and timely action would significantly improve the experience.

Vakilsearch is hands down the worst service provider I have ever dealt with. I engaged them for a simple name change, and after ONE FULL YEAR of chasing, follow-ups, emails, and calls, the work is STILL NOT DONE.
This company is completely incompetent. Once they collect the payment, they disappear. There is no ownership, no accountability, no transparency, and no respect for the customer’s time or money. Every follow-up gives a new excuse, a new “case manager,” and another false assurance — all lies.
Because of Vakilsearch’s sheer negligence and mismanagement, I have suffered real financial losses, mental stress, and massive delays in my personal and professional work. A process that should take weeks has been dragged endlessly with zero results.
Their internal coordination is a joke. Their support team has no clue what is happening. Their so-called legal service is nothing more than a money-collection operation. This is NOT a professional legal platform — it’s a trap for unsuspecting customers.
If you are considering Vakilsearch for any service whatsoever, take this as a serious warning: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME. You will regret it. This is the worst company to approach for legal or documentation services.

I am writing formally about the failure / delay on my case regarding the unprofessional conduct and severe negligence of ZOLVIT/ VAKIL SEARCH and the entire team assigned in handling my case # 5373479 / 5408049
Even after several reminders & mentions multiple times in all phone calls ,whatsapp chats in almost all my communication , since beginning on the accused will be absconding and the risk of the accused absconding,
All of which were ignored and managed carelessly , irresponsibly , taken for granted or handled completely unprofessionally and always met with vague assurances , false commitments and fake promises by ZOLVIT / VAKILSEARCH and your team.
The ZOLVIT / VAKILSEARCH team failed miserably to take the immediate necessary, relevant, time-sensitive steps to secure the legal interests of the case, which in result the accused got enough time to abscond and to evade justice.
As a direct consequence of your team’s failure, negligence, incompetency and unprofessionalism approach the accused has left the jurisdiction and gone absconding causing severe, irreversible damage to my case and losing my credibility, mental stress & substantial financial losses.
Hence provide full detailed explanation, immediate response at the earliest on further plans and workings from your team in how they will execute & action to get my case a proper & satisfactory justice at the earliest.( accused to be caught, punished and my money to be recovered from them) ,as of now i am still willing to resolve this issue amicably without claiming any refunds.
If a satisfactory resolution is not reached, I will be forced to escalate this matter to the higher management of ZOLVIT / VAKIL SEARCH and even if required will contact the relevant higher authorities concerned by filing a formal / official complaint for professional misconduct and initiating a legal malpractice claim to recover all damages ,personal ,financial & mental.

I engaged Vakilsearch under their Elite plan, where GST + MSME registration was shown as part of the package. After payment, I was later asked to pay additional charges specifically for MSME (Udyam) registration.
On verification, I found that MSME (Udyam) registration is completely free on the official Government of India portal. I was able to complete the MSME registration myself in about 10–15 minutes at zero cost and received the certificate immediately.
I feel the process and pricing could have been communicated more transparently at the beginning. Businesses are advised to independently verify government procedures before agreeing to additional payments.
