In conclusion as described further below:
1) We wasted €48 on a 30-second inspection
2) We spent 3.5 weeks waiting for an urgent problem (a leaking water pump) to be fixed, but the job was never completed
3) At the end, they stole €63 from our deposit
The sequence of events was:
- 2 Nov: We call the company and agree to a €48 price for checking a leak in our water pump
- 3 Nov: As per an invoice we got, we pay the €48 and a €363 deposit for a new water pump, after the plumber had done a 30-second inspection determining that it couldn’t be repaired. A leaking water pump is an urgent problem, so we went with this company, because they told us it would be fixed within one week
- 4 to 28 Nov: We keep getting told that they will install the water pump next day, so we are working from home to facilitate such installation for 3.5 weeks. Ultimately, they tell us they can’t get the pump, and that they will repay our deposit
- 30 Nov: €300 is repaid
- 1 to 24 Dec: The company refuses to pay back the remaining €63 (this amount corresponds to the BTW of the €363 deposit), and they are now making up a story that the €63 covers work that they forgot to charge on the invoice
Update 4 Jan:
- There was no thorough review conducted, but we have all along agreed to pay the €48 for the inspection
- All we are asking for is a refund of the remaining €63 from our water pump deposit

Graag willen wij de situatie nogmaals toelichten. U heeft bij ons een afspraak gemaakt voor het inspecteren van uw waterpomp. Onze monteur is langsgekomen en heeft een grondige inspectie uitgevoerd, die in totaal 35 minuten duurde. Daarbij werd vastgesteld dat uw waterpomp defect is. Op basis van deze constatering hebben wij een nieuwe waterpomp voor u besteld, rechtstreeks bij de fabrikant. Hierbij hebben wij u duidelijk geïnformeerd dat er een levertijd aan verbonden is, iets wat helaas buiten onze controle ligt.
Ondanks deze uitleg heeft u ons herhaaldelijk gebeld met de vraag of de waterpomp al geleverd is. We hebben u daarop aangeboden de kosten voor de waterpomp terug te storten, indien gewenst. U bent hiermee akkoord gegaan. Echter, u heeft daarna ook geëist dat wij de kosten voor de inspectie zouden terugbetalen. Dit verzoek begrijpen wij niet, aangezien wij vooraf hebben aangegeven dat de levertijd door de fabrikant wordt bepaald en wij deze niet kunnen beïnvloeden.
Wij hebben onze diensten correct uitgevoerd en u duidelijk geïnformeerd over de situatie. Het in rekening brengen van ons bezoek is in lijn met de afgesproken dienstverlening.
We willen u nogmaals uitnodigen om telefonisch contact met ons op te nemen. We staan open voor een constructief gesprek om eventuele misverstanden op te lossen. Wat wij niet accepteren, is het plaatsen van onjuiste informatie online. Dit kan worden gezien als smaad en laster en schaadt ons bedrijf onterecht.
