Ive never been so angry at a festival

Ive never been so angry at a festival! Firstly the price is a lot its not a cheap festival at £139 to then have to pay extra to camp is a joke….. but it dont stop there! Its an extra £75 for the feast which also made me very angry and to top it all off you can NOT excess all the music if you don't get a feast ticket so what does all the people who spent over £200 get? Not a lot so you have to spend over £400 to see all the music at the festival which is very elitist and unfair on all the over people who don't want or can afford to feast like people with families. Me and my partner had the feast on Sat and got in the line like everyone else and we didn't get seated till 7:30pm and was rudely told we couldn't have the good mead cos we got into the hall to late, like what? Thats isn't fair! How is it our fault? and why should we pay the same as everyone else to not get the same as everyone else? The festival is at fault not us we were waiting in the line! And lastly whats with the Pirate music in the mornings when its meant to be a viking festival?? All in all i didnt enjoy it much as i was pushed out of much of the entertainment despite already paying £138 for a ticket and im so angry at the cost of the feast to be then told we cant have mead because we got in too late. And the quality of food was bad! Im veggie and the vegan cheese and fake meat was terrible quality! Id rather i didnt bother at all. I wont come back again next year or ever

The best Valhalla Viking Festival

I recently attended the Valhalla Viking Festival near Basingstoke, and it was nothing short of legendary. Whether you're deep into Norse mythology, love live music and battles, or just enjoy doing something wildly different with your weekend, this festival delivers in every way.
From the moment you arrive, you’re immersed in a world of Viking spirit—tents, costumed warriors, roaring fires, and the sounds of axes thudding into wood. There’s a strong sense of community, and everyone from seasoned reenactors to first-time visitors is welcomed like kin.
The Mead Hall feast was a standout! Eating hearty Viking food by torchlight, with mead flowing freely, while musicians played and performers entertained—it felt like stepping into a saga. The horn refills and the camaraderie made it unforgettable.
There was so much to do—from axe throwing and archery to storytelling, crafts, and blacksmith demos. Watching the reenactment battles and fire dancers was a real highlight, and the boat burning ceremony on Saturday night gave me goosebumps. Even the kids looked like they were having a blast with puppet shows and birds of prey.
The music was a mix of folk, pagan, and Nordic rock, with passionate performances from bands like Solfyr and Seidrblot. It added so much energy and emotion to the whole experience.
Camping on-site was well organised and clean. The toilets and showers were better than I expected for a festival setting, and it was great to be able to wake up surrounded by fellow festival-goers in costume, ready for another day of Viking fun.
Valhalla isn’t just a festival—it’s an experience. It felt like stepping back in time and into a myth. I left with mud on my boots, stories to tell, and the lingering smell of fire and mead in my hair. If you’re even a little bit curious—go. Just go.

I’ll definitely be back next year, and I might just bring a few more shieldmaidens and berserkers with me.
