I love this salon. It is a beautiful, relaxing space with lovely people (and a large bowl of my favourite orange cream chocolates!). Better still, I am the happiest I have ever been with my hair, following the combined talents of Michael (best ever cut), Bryn (best ever colour), and Rufus (best ever head massage). I am so glad I found you!

The best hairdressing salon I've ever come across. I now have the cut and colour I've been hoping for all my life! what's more I can achieve the style at home myself. I have incredibly fine hair and not a great deal of it.I booked an initial consultation and felt both the colourist Michelle and the stylist Simon really took the time to listen to what I would ideally like to achieve but never thought possible. The results were more than I could ever have hoped for. The combination of carefully chosen fine highlights are exquisite and make my hair look so much thicker. As for Michaels incredible precision cut and eye for detail my hair actually falls into place without any effort. I look 10 years younger thanks to their skills. What's more there's a great atmosphere in the salon; a really helpful reception team, good coffee. What's not to love.Just wish it hadn't taken me so long to find it.

I emailed the salon to make an appointment, was specific on time and date, who I wanted for cut and colour. It was my first time at the salon and given the prestige I was expecting an amazing experience.

So, first hurdle was actually making the appointment. It took 3 emails and a phone call. Reception staff didn't seem too good... So fast forward to today, 26th March, when I actually travelled from Retford to the salon. I wanted to treat myself and was really looking forward to the experience.

I have lived around the world and been to some amazing salons.

I walked through the very instatgtammable door, that I'd seen many times on people's reels....

The receptionist, a chap, didn't actually look up, let alone greet me, took my name and handed me a coat hanger to put my jacket on.

I was struggling with my bag and one of the lovely stylists came over to give me a hand. The chap on reception just stood there!

This was my first interaction, my first impression and it was pants! This needs sorting out! No matter the number of influencers you have, bad customer service is unforgivable unless you're so blasé you don't care?

Bryn, who coloured my hair and Lamphane who cut and styled my hair were outstanding. The experience with them both was superb. Lovely chaps.

This is my second big gripe.. All in all I paid £380 for my hair and then had to pay for coffee and water... REALLY?? That is absolutely taking the piss.

As a new client, surely you could have offered me coffee and water and not be out of pocket? I have never paid for drinks in ANY salon and especially when I have paid a small fortune for my hair.

When you go to a prestigious salon you go for the expertise, which I received and the overall experience, which I did not.

A real shame as I love my hair but I think egos need to be set aside and some customer service training is needed and also to think of ways to enhance the overall experience

The service was fantastic from start to finish. I was offered a lovely cup of tea whist enjoying a wash and blowdry. My hair looked flawless and held up perfectly all evening. Jeyan was professional and attentive, making me feel pampered throughout. I'll definitely be returning for another blowdry soon! Highly recommend.

My shampoo had leaked during transit and was completely empty. It was intended as a gift. The packaging was ruined and the other products were spoiled. I was offered a replacement shampoo and discount voucher for my next purchase. However I won’t be purchasing again!

I placed an order and when the package arrived with me, one of the bottles was all but completely empty - Only 3 to 4 washes left in the bottom. The whole of the bottle of discarded inside the package.
As this package didn’t get to me immediately, having arrived too late for me to take back to Spain, a friend of mine then brought it over in their car A couple of months later So I felt it was a little late to ask them for any kind of recompense.

When I emailed the company about this issue, asking them to ensure that the lids were secured for my next order, I was told that they didn’t expect the products to travel much, which is probably why it opened!!?

When I placed the following order, I specifically asked for them to ensure that the bottles were securely packaged to avoid leakage occurring again. I’ve just received my new package, and one of the bottles was open… Yet again! Really disappointed that as this stuff is so expensive, they do not secure these little flip lids better.

I won’t be buying again.

This is the worst salon experience I have had in London. When I booked my appointment, I was told that they couldn’t take me any later so I had to cut a previous appointment short to be there on time. When I arrived, I was told they were running late and 25 minutes later they still hadn’t started my appointment. I wasn’t offered a drink or anything at all. The reason they gave for the delay was that another customer had arrived late to their appointment, which is unacceptable. In the end I left as I would not have made it to my dinner in the evening otherwise. They best they could offer was a half hearted apology. I will not be returning and would advise that if you are looking for good customer service to avoid this salon completely.

This is a male grooming review! Have been using the salon for my hair for the past 5 years on recommendation of my partner whose experience with Michael goes back to before day one of the salon. I have always found them excellent on all levels and for me, still with a full had of hair, they - particularly Loraine - give me by far the best end result I have experienced in my 80 years. Cheap? No, but that is not my deciding factor. I do get what I pay for. More so than in many other supposedly similar establishments I have used over the years. Have not tested the products so can net speak for them. For hair I rate them as no1.

Omg I’m in love with my hair again!
I have a long blonde bleached hair and I tried pre wash treatment and omg my hair was so thirsty 😳 had to apply second layer. I washed my hair with cashmere shampoo and conditioner and my hair is so beautiful, the smell is amazing and super shiny! I top it up with the magic oil and blow dry balm. Also I use magic hair brush my hair is usually so tangled but this time nothing 😳. I’m honestly speechless and thanks to Michael Van Clarke products I’m in love with my blonde look again. Please thank Michelle Van Clarke for me. I can’t believe what only one wash did to my hair. My hair is so beautiful

Purchased two products that would give me hair protection and would give me some some volume. The products were very disappointing and left my hair weighted and greasy even after only using the tiniest of products. Money wasted sadly

As always, staff is amazing. They give great advice and address any concerns. Bernadette is fantastic with hair colour and Mauryce does mani/ped like no other!

Was very pleased with my haircut with Joel. He is very knowledgable about hair and really listened to what you want. Very pleasant salon experience as well.

Always come home feeling a million dollars. Great fun and airy salon and super attentive team. The lovely Nicky, Bernie and Daniela are the BEST! Thank you ❤️

Had the best cut ever my Micheal himself. Booked an appointment as I was visiting UK. Had my hair highlighted back home which had caused a lot of damage. My colour was also corrected and the cut was beautiful removing almost all the damage with taking very little from the length. Also bought the range of the 3 inch range that would help to restore my hair. After only the first use i was able to see a difference in quality of my hair. Will definitely be back on my next trip. Lamphane has been cutting my hair at Michael Van Clarke for the past few years and I would never go to anyone else as he always makes my slightly thinning hair look thicker and bouncier even when he has lopped off a couple of inches. He does a great blow dry too! Lovely atmosphere and excellent products, especially the Life Save Intense pre-wash. Highly recommended

Overall a fantastic experience and service. Friendly, competent staff and the quality of their products is extremely high. I would highly recommend visiting their salon.

This is from the point of view of a hairdressing apprentice at MVC.I had a trial shift which went well then Mitchell and Summer asked me to come in on Saturdays where I worked ten hours without any pay.They used me for free labor.During that day I felt completely disrespected I was told I couldn’t talk while I swept because it was unprofessional.After scurrying around like a slave I got called up and I was told that I shouldn’t just sweep the floor and that there was more to do around the salon.This was all said in a very patronizing way.When the hairdresser would help me assist Mitchell would come over and say today isn’t a day for assisting it’s a day for cleaning and he said I didn’t tell you to sit down I told you to clean so out of order.After doing ten hours without any pay I didn’t even feel appreciated not even a well done they just want you to break which I inevitably did.They are very misleading and Not straight forward at the beginning they said the nvq would be provided and then it changed to well “as long as things go to planned” very difficult wording because you cannot get a straight answer.I’m putting screenshots too.If you are looking for a hairdressing apprenticeship do not do it here they do not even know the dates in which they start NVQ this is not a company that you can put your trust in

Very friendly and welcoming salon, from the greeting as you enter, the shampoo experience (I didn’t ask her name but she was just lovely) to the top class stylist - Mitchell!!
This place is luxury at its best and worth every penny in my opinion.
As for the actual hairstyling, I hadn’t been before but gave Mitchell free rein to so whatever he liked.
After asking about my lifestyle and general daily treatment about my hair, he worked his magic et voila!!
A very happy customer with hair that shone and moved like never before.
Isn’t that what a trip to the hairdresser is all about but sadly rarely what we get?

Terrible Customer Service - Ordered 5/2/21, Received Dispatch email 8/2/21, They took the money from my bank account 8/2/21. No Goods by 22/2/21. Have emailed almost every day since 15/2/21. They blame Royal Mail, and I have to wait and see if it turns up. I've asked for money back. No replies. So Disappointed as I have had lovely products which I love but I will be looking for alternatives as I am disappointed in the staff who work for Michael Van Clarke who ignore email. ALSO IF YOU TRY AND POST A NEGATIVE REVIEW ON THE WEBSITE THEY DONT PUBLISH IT!!!!
