Horrific company. After paying money upfront for the mini van hire, we did not receive the mini van as promised. For some reason they think it is acceptable to send across a 11 seater vehicle when we paid for a 17 seater. They were 2 hours late and we received no communication on why this was. Atrocious customer service where nobody wanted to take responsibility and even after the horrific experience, they did not turn up on time to collect the mini van and are now trying to take more money from us saying that the van is damaged. However we took photos of the mini van to prove that the van was in perfect condition when we returned it. Still awaiting for a refund and nobody wants to take responsibility on this matter. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY!

Emran Hussain - rather than spend your time replying to messages, take more time in trying to rectify your incompetent company's issues.
I was part of group who hired your vans for a weekend trip. Reviews do not need to be from the booking person only. Reviews can be written by anybody who has experienced a service from a company. Please read Trustpilots explanation on what this site is about before you accuse me of anything. I don't have time to troll your company as you are not worth my time. But I care about the general public's time and money unlike yourselves.
You are just making accusations and this is proof that you have no intention of providing good customer service as you did not even address me with manners and you are making accusations because you can't face the facts.
The proof is in your response as to how poor your service is. The people will see for themselves on how you treat your customers.

Imagine ordering a 17 person minivan for a 4 hour+ drive into the country and receiving a 11 person van several hours late and without any prior communication. This is EXACTLY what happened and almost ruined the trip. Do not use this company.

Hired a minibus from Van Genie and we had no problems, the vehicle turned up and was picked up at the agreed times

Fraudulent. Incompetent, False advertising. The only time you will speak to someone is when you book the vehicle and pay after that you will be asked to email customer service and never get a answer.
The company will charge you a cancellation fee even when it's not your fault ( I.e the vehicle you booked is not available but you are not told )
I emailed the company 3 days before going away and was told just this ( I had booked it 3 months in advanced) what was being offered was unsuitable so I went elsewhere. I had no choice but to cancel I was asked do I want a refund I said yes waited 2 months.My bank took the case on nearly resolved.
But please for your own SAINTY do not touch Van Genie.

Used Van Hire Genie for a day trip to Cardiff. They were very accommodating, helpful, and courteous. We had Gigi as a driver who got us there and back safely and was a very safe driver. I would not hesitate in recommending them to you and I will surely be using them again in the future when needed.

Brilliant service my by the staff, I dealt with Deshan who took our booking and processed it all the way till collection. Originally our family was let down by another company ini which Van hire genie was like a god send and accommodated us with a vehicle.
Will be coming back for our summer holiday for sure!!!!

Poor experience. Placed the order over the phone and asked to pay by credit card. The employee I spoke to advised there was a whopping 16% surcharge on credit card payments. After I advised him of the new surcharge ban he still proceeded to telling me that the surcharge was payable. I went ahead and placed the order to receive a call back 20 mins later where the same employee told me I was right and the surcharge will be refunded.

Anyway, the car finally arrived (2 hours late) and the state of the vehicle was appalling. It had a huge area on the right panel with dents and scratches and the interior smelt of cigarettes. I had to go to the local petrol station, buy two air fresheners and leave the windows open overnight to get rid of the smell (never worked)

We left for our weekend trip and when starting the engine we had an error message appear on the dashboard and the engine warning light was on. Proceeded to drive to only find one of the tyres had no pressure and had to be pumped.

Cut a long story short the condition of the car was a disgrace and I would not reccomend this company!

Everything was smooth from the start until the day we returned the car. The minibus was not new but we did not have any problem at all with the mini bus. We dealt with mr deshan and we look forward for a better or good promotions in the future.

Everything I was told I would get I got so no complaints. They were easy to reach & I had no problems with anything. I dealt with Asim, kept me informed at all times. Used the 17 seater minibus to travel with family to Europe & minibus gave us no issues.

I would use them again.

Zero service. Misleading. No delivery of vehicle. Fraudulent. A real let down. Advise not to use and allow the law to take its course against this company.

The worst experience i had ever with a rental company, i rent from them 3 mini buses , i paid extra for automatic Mercedes 9 seater, and i get manual Ford, the price listed on their web site was around 30£ difference.

I was forced to accept it just because i really need them at that time but they boss or whatever is call me and offer me some money back after returning the vehicles, so i said should be ok.

Also i paid for delivery them at specific address 40£ each including collection, they only deliver 2 and collect one. i had to sort out the rest of them because they are busy.

I returned the vehicles and i proceed to the reception desk asking for that refund they said to me i need to speak to the costumer support team , so i call them they ask me to send an email and refund will take 30 days to reach my account, so i about 8 months now since i rent the mini buses from them and still didn't get any thing.

Also i send a few emails after never get back to me ever.

Most useless people working there, never seen something like that in my life.

Very helpful team. Nothing was to much trouble. Flexible to your needs and always get back to you whenever you have a question. I would high recommend them!

I was happy to find a small local company that provides this service. Their quote was competitive and the salesperson (Nadeem) was helpful and responsive to all my emails and phone queries.

The interior of the minibus could have been cleaner, and I think I got one of the older models. But it ran well, everything worked, and I was able to take my party of 15 to Wales and back. I would use them again.

Booked a 9 seater minibus for a wedding to Cornwall..excellent customer service from Nadeem who arranged a nearly new Ford Tourneo which was great to drive and had plenty of room for six of us with luggage. Mini bus was dropped off and picked up from Essex which was smooth and convenient. Will be using the company again...Many thanks

The service was great, very timely. The minivan was in excellent condition, clean and fully fit for purpose, the customer service experience was excellent. I personally highly recommend, would definitely use again.

Either incompetent or fraudulent or both...

We are a small children’s charity run by volunteers that booked a bus for a weekend to take a group of kids from London to the north. We paid for this “company” to deliver the bus to us on Friday afternoon and to pick it up again on Monday morning. I will never, ever use them again as they are either incompetent or fraudulent or both.

Nadeem who deals with the bookings is very efficient and competent which lulls you into a false sense of security. We completed all the required paperwork in advance as required.

On the Friday afternoon the bus had not arrived by the booking time so I phoned to ask what was happening. I got put through to “operations” department. The person on the phone said there were “operational” difficulties and that we might not have our bus for a few hours. Bear in mind I had called them, they had not called us to inform us of this at any point. I had this conversation with more than a dozen children waiting for the bus to be dropped off. I explained to the operations person, who had almost no command of English, that this was unacceptable, that “logistics are complicated” or similar wording is not a good explanation of why we didn’t have a bus and we cannot wait with a bunch of children sitting on benches on the street for the bus to be delivered.

It was quite clear that this bloke did not have a clue what he was doing so I phoned back straight away, spoke to Nadeem who then obviously made some calls, called me back and said a different bus was on its way and would be within us within an hour.

The driver of the replacement bus then phones up to suggest we use a different bus from a different depot… no I don’t understand how he could have been driving a replacement bus and then picking up another bus from another depot either… clearly the stories we were being told were in the realms of fantasy but in the end they got a bus to us only about 2 hours late. We lost another half an hour as we were asked to reprint the booking paperwork to recomplete deposit details of credit card.
After reprinting everything etc and getting to the venue we realised we’d already completed all this paperwork well in advance and when the driver called the office he confirmed that this is indeed what had happened. Their office appears to have no clue what the drivers are doing or vice versa.

The bus was fine (though unusually for mini bus company they drop it off empty so you have to immediately fill up).

We return to London on the Saturday night. The bus sits outside our driver’s house for two days and is picked up by the company’s own driver on the Monday morning as agreed. I phoned Nadeem to explain that we would be making a formal complaint but in the end I just thought I didn’t want to deal with this company ever again.

TWO MONTHS LATER… £208 is taken from our driver’s account by this company (a volunteer with our charity). When we phone up we are told that a congestion charge fine was incurred on the Monday that they’ve emailed us and written to us about it but we hadn’t responded. We explained the only logical explanation was that their own driver had incurred the fine and that we had received no communication from them whatsoever in the interim period. We were just told to email and would have a response in 48 hours. This was all today.

I then emailed copying in the legal firm that sponsors our charity explaining that if they don’t reimburse the money today then we will get formal legal advice and seek compensation. Nadeem then phones back to say that he has looked up the paperwork and THEIR OWN PAPERWORK demonstrates that the bus was picked up by their own driver prior to the congestion charge fine being incurred i.e. it proves it was their driver. Now we are being reimbursed but it may “take 7 days”.
We will now be getting legal advice from our charity sponsor before Monday about whether we can take this shambles of a company to the small claims court. DO NOT TOUCH WITH A BARGEPOLE.

Edit: I did eventually get a phone call from "Emran Hussain" their general manager. He did not apologise. What he did do was complain about the fact that I had left negative reviews and that I should just "move on" and "take a chill pill". No compensation, no "sorry". Really I'm gobsmacked. And then after 6 months someone claiming to be called "David Williams" has left responses to some of my reviews using exactly the same words again not apologising and again suggesting that I should just 'forgive and forget'. Perhaps Emran has two names like he works in an Indian call centre? I had forgotten but clearly people have been reading the negative reviews from me and others and their business has suffered so he's trying to cover this up. That's not how you run a business you charlatan.

Van hiring was very easy and straight forward!.Nadeem went the extra mile to meet up our needs as we needed to hire a van just to be used on Saturday and most companies only did the whole weekend. Nadeem accommodated us and made it simple by giving us the chance to hire the vehicle on Saturday morning and returning any time during the weekend that was convenient for us and he charged us only for one day. Excellent van and kind people so we’ll definitely use GENIE’s services in the future:-)!

Very reasonable prices and delivery and collection service was great.
The minibus was clean and was good to drive.
Would definitely recommend and will be using them again.

The van was clean, new and with the specifications that I needed ( 11 seater and with 2 children seats). They didn't put any inconvenience for what or when I needed it.
Very professional all of them.
The price was really good. And the fact that they can delivery and collect the van is great!
