I booked a Veezu cab the night before, for an 8.30am pick up for an appointment I had. I was notified that I would be sent a message when the cab would be dispatched. 8.30 came and went and no messa... See more

Inconsistent pricing and unfair £5 pet surcharge
Shocked by the inconsistent pricing and a ridiculous £5 surcharge just for having a pet securely locked inside a small carrier.
The driver on the way to the vet was completely fine and didn’t charge anything extra. However, the driver on the return journey insisted on a £5 pet surcharge.
Charging extra for an animal that stays locked inside a secure carrier for a short trip is completely unfair, and the policy is totally inconsistent. Check options before booking.
Review App glitch took my money 4 times. Disabled & left 3 days without food money while they withhold funds.
Review Text:Absolutely shameful behavior from Veezu / Amber Cars. Their mobile app glitched and authorized my card four separate times for a single journey, creating three massive duplicate pending charges.I am a vulnerable, disabled person with complex mental health issues. I explicitly explained to their team that withholding this money has left me entirely trapped for three days without a penny to buy essential food. They simply do not care. When I called, the call handler openly admitted that the extra charges were showing as "pending" on their system. Yet, they refused to reverse them back ASAP or drop the pre-authorisations. Everyone knows how their system works: if a passenger cancels a ride before taking it, or if Veezu cancels a ride due to unforeseen circumstances, the pending holding funds are released back to the bank account instantly. Furthermore, when they have made app errors in the past, they managed to process my refunds within 24 hours. There is absolutely no technical reason for them to hold onto my money this time. They are intentionally hiding behind the "blame the bank" excuse, knowing full well that banks cannot release a pending merchant hold until the company manually voids it on their card terminal gateway. They have refused to help me twice and are now actively ignoring my formal emails. I have escalated this directly to West Yorkshire Trading Standards and filed a formal fit-and-proper complaint against their Operator's Licence with Leeds City Council.Veezu management: check your system, look at the email you are ignoring, log into your merchant portal, and cancel these three duplicate holds immediately.
Charges not as quoted
Quoted £20, charged £23 with no clear explanation for the difference despite following up. Customer service didn't respond to my complaint email. Used Uber for the same journey a few days earlier for £17. Won't be using Veezu again.
Absolute rubbish service
Absolute rubbish service. Pre booked a taxi for 18:20 to catch a train in Telford. Didn’t turn up so missed it
What a heartless company this is
What a heartless company this is, when one of their taxis is involved in an accident with my daughter in the back and all they’re bothered about is charging her for a replacement taxi(which she didn’t order) while she was in the back of an ambulance. It was the taxi drivers fault but Veezu said all their drivers are self employed so it’s nothing to do with them. Didn’t even ask how she was!
If I could put no stars I would
If I could put no stars I would , booked a wheelchair 2 weeks ago for a dentist appointment for a gentleman from a care home ! Not only did he miss his appointment the staff was rude & unhelpful
Since they took over from Britannia…
Since they took over from Britannia their prices have sky rocketed. What used to be only a £4 journey last year, is now a tenner. I cancelled straight away. Will not be using them again
Horrible
Some random person came knocking
On my door at midnight in distress saying his mobile had died and could he use my phone to call a taxi, he got tje taxi and about 15 minutes later I had the driver call my phone because he wasn't willing to take this person to the bank and demanded I pay for it screaming down the phone at me. Disgusting!
Terrible service, overcharging. Drivers OK.
I spoke to a rude receptionist who I could hardly understand. She told me that the North Town restaurant didn't exist. I was overcharged by £3, the taxi driver told me that but was unable to do anything about it as the fare was fixed by the office. Terrible service.
Super questionable pricing
Super questionable pricing shown in the app, not divulging what the fare actually includes. Be careful if booking for Leeds airport - they'll include an £8 drop off charge in the fare without warning you, and when you realise this the driver will refuse to drop you off in the free drop off zone which is 5 minutes walk away from the terminal.
Veezu, pointless pre-booking
What is the point of pre-booking a taxi when there's no guarantee that anyone will show up! I've used this app a few times but never again. There are very few private taxi companies where I live so I rely on pre-booking. On two out of the four occasions I've used this service I've had to call the office to find out where my cab is. This morning I was told "sorry there's no-one available so I can't give you a time". Utterly pointless.
Terrible service
I booked a taxi 6 days in advance. I was going from Lee on Solent to Gatwick airport and booked the taxi for 12:30. When it didn't arrive by then I rang the office and was told one would be with me in 10 minutes. I knew I was being fobbed off, so I asked for the name of the driver and was told they weren't allowed to tell me. I then asked what car would be coming and was told it was a Skoda Octavia. I was again assured it would be with me in 10 minutes.
The driver then phoned me to me say he had just been given the job and was 30 minutes away in Portsmouth!
Despite giving the firm 6 days notice, they had failed to allocate a driver, and if I hadn't have phoned, I'd still be waiting. When you need a taxi to get you to an airport, a delay of half an hour could be crucial.
I have nothing but praise for the driver, who was very apologetic and fortunately there were no hold ups on the journey, so I made it to the airport in time for my flight, but I didn't need the stress caused by the incompetence of the firm.
Needless to say I won't be using them again and I've told my family and friends to avoid them.

I had a very bitter experience with a driver who treated me very rudely and unprofessionally. So disappointed, never want to book a ride again.
RIDICULOUS EXCUSE FOR A TAXI FIRM
DO NOT! I REPEAT DO NOT book a taxi with this company. My daughter booked a large vehicle 4 days in advance to get us on our way to the airport. When the time arrived, surprise, surprise NO vehicle, stranded, ALL FIVE OF US. No record of our booking and certainly no customer service to try and rectify the ordeal!! I repeat DO NOT BOOK THIS COMPANY. If I could have given zero stars, I would have!!

Only rated one as i was unable to rate lower. Charged more than i was quoted on an airport transfer. Checked 3 times verbally the price and was told £84. They charged £91. I rang whilst on the journey and told i had to pay it. Use a company who do not rip you off like these. I will be escalating higher to trading standards and the council who issue their taxi/private hire licences.
This was from Luton Airport to St.Neots.
Absolutely appalling service
Absolutely appalling service – what is the point of pre-booking?
I pre-booked a taxi with Veezu, which was due to arrive at a specific time. The driver called and asked us to walk up the road slightly, which we agreed to do. We arrived at the new pick-up point within a minute, only to find that the driver had cancelled the journey before we even got there.
I then called Veezu, explained what had happened, and was initially told that a new car would be dispatched on high priority and should arrive within five minutes. After waiting around ten minutes with no car, I called again.
I was then told that, apparently, the booking had been made for collection and drop-off at the same location (it hadn't as I could see the booked journey on my phone) and therefore they would need to rebook the journey. I was told this would mean paying a new and significantly higher fare, despite the fact that the original journey had been cancelled by the driver and they'd failed to give me a replacement properly. I was told there was nothing they could do about this.
To make matters worse, the member of staff asked me whether I "understood" the situation in an incredibly patronising manner. I understood perfectly well what he was saying — the issue was that the situation was completely unacceptable.
The whole point of pre-booking a taxi is surely to have some certainty that a car will turn up when you need it. Instead, the driver cancelled on us, the replacement car didn't arrive within the promised timeframe, and we were then expected to pay substantially more to rectify a problem that wasn't of our making.
Absolutely outrageous customer service. If pre-booking gives you no greater reliability or priority than simply ordering a taxi at the time, what exactly is the point of doing it?
It is absolutely outrageous that when…
It is absolutely outrageous that when choosing the pre-booking option, there is no guarantee whatsoever that a taxi will actually arrive at the time you selected. What’s more, I paid a higher price than I normally would.
I very nearly missed my flight because of this. Absolutely disgraceful. I had no idea that the service now works like Uber.
Stay well away from this company!!!
Terrible
1. The operators did not seem to know what was going on
2. All but 2 of the 7 taxi I ordered were late (20mins +)
3. Literally terrible I gave them 5 days notice on the order

This review is no reflection on the driver he was great. However I pre booked the taxi a good few days before my journey and it was confirmed for 6:20, I rang the day before to make sure all was ok, did the taxi turn up at 6:20 no. I rang and they said it would be another 20 minutes, I would have missed my train and told them this, they then managed to find another driver, if I hadn't of rung them I wouldn't have known it was going to be that late !!!! Why take a booking if you can't honour it. Very stressful start to my day
