Beware if this company. I purchased one check for 5.95 and they charged me another 39.99 then refused to pay back telling me i had clicked on the wrong option

Stick with autotrader for car checks or other certified companies

Hope they go bust

They are some scammers, they have a group of "buyers " that are contacting sellers and trying to convince them to buy this expensive report that is not more in depth than the one from autotrader, but 5 times more expensive.

Beware as this company will scam you out of money as they are affiliated with the government and you will not be paying your ULEZ charge

This company is a scam. They masquerade as a gov.uk website when in fact they are nothing of the sort. I used it to pay my car tax and they deducted 2 payments totalling 8.45

Clicked on option to purchase a single check on a car, got charged for 5 that I have no use for. Rang the number provided for Experian and was told to ring Autotrader. They said it's nothing to do with them and this is what they, Experian do all the time. Wish I hadn't have bothered now.

Complete waste of money! I viewed a car and completed an Experian backed vehicle check advertised through Autotrader. Despite getting a green tick saying “No Insurance write offs”, I’ve just found out that it is a category D. I completed the Guarantee but it’s expired. Waste of money and now i’m ££££s our of pocket.

Would have given five stars for the service but after making one vehicle check, they continued to debit my account for seven monthly payments until I spotted it on my statement. They refused to reimburse but agreed to offer my last payment back as a GOODWILL gesture.

Product is good but i do not understand (and they do not make it explicitly clear) that if you purchase say 5 credits, these are only valid for a month or so.

There is absolutely no reason why an electronic vehicle check credit should expire - absolute con!

Having always checked vehicles in the past about the history of them, I have used HPI in the past. Having used AutoTrader to search for the next vehicle I am looking to purchase, I see they offer their own vehicle check product. I therefore used this product to check a vehicle I was at the time looking to purchase. When the check was returned, it had a finance agreement on the vehicle, when the seller assured me that it was paid ages ago. when I called the finance company, they indicated that they STILL had an interest on the vehicle and to not purchase it. I left it a week and the seller indicated it was resolved. I then checked the vehicle again with vehiclecheck and this time a high risk marker was on the vehicle. it turns out the finance company put this on as the seller was trying to sell the vehicle when finance was still remaining on it. great service from vehicle check and stopped me buying the vehicle with the added peace of mind with the high risk marker as well.
