I am writing publicly in the hope that The Vein Centre Canterbury will finally respond to my concerns.
I paid approximately £3,000 for sclerotherapy treatment to remove my varicose veins. Following completion of the treatment, I had to return a few months later because a vein on my knee remained clearly visible and had not been successfully treated.
In addition, the brown staining caused by the treatment, which was carried out in July last year, is still present on both legs. The staining follows the treated vein tracts and is very obvious. I was advised that this should improve over time, but almost a year later it remains clearly visible and has become a significant cosmetic concern.
Over the last 10 day, I have sent three separate emails to the clinic asking for advice, support and information about how these issues can be addressed. Despite these repeated attempts to make contact, I have received no response, acknowledgement or telephone call.
While I understand that no medical treatment can guarantee perfect results and that side effects can occur, I do expect an appropriate standard of aftercare and communication, particularly after spending £3,000 on treatment. The complete lack of response has been extremely disappointing and has left me feeling ignored.
I would welcome a response from The Vein Centre Canterbury to explain why my enquiries have gone unanswered and to discuss what options may be available regarding the persistent staining and the unsatisfactory treatment outcome.
Until these concerns are addressed, I cannot recommend this clinic based on my experience

Would have been 5* but my 9.30 appointment was 20 mins late starting. Excellent customer service otherwise and easy and clear explanations.

Fantastic results, so pleased. My varicose veins were really bad. I had 4 of them lasered. I was back running after 2 weeks and the stockings were really easy to wear in the shower.

An excellent experience. The treatment worked perfectly and my ankles are now a lot more able to be put on show in summer! The team were friendly, professional and enjoyable company and all-in-all, I would certainly recommend VeinCentre to anyone needing treatment in the Canterbury area.

I wasn't sure what to expect, but i needn't have worried as everyone i spoke to was friendly and explained everything in detail to me. I decided not to go ahead with further treatment, but that's my personal choice. I was able to make my decision based on the details given during the consultancy.

Following a heavy bleed from a vein while on holiday I needed to get checked out.
While there was a considerable wait before I could get an appointment, as the centre I used is only open once a fortnight, it was necessary to undergo surgery.
Another wait until I could be booked in but now surgery has been successful with no further treatment required.
The treatment itself was painful in certain areas but acceptable to achieve results.

The whole experience from start to finish was excellent. They advised me of exactly what treatment I would need in a clear and precise way. The lovely staff reassured me during the procedure and I felt very comfortable. I was in and out in an hour and had no issues with the procedure. My only regret was that I'd not had it done years ago!

I attended the Canterbury clinic in November of last year. I wasn't planning on writing a review but in hindsight, I don't want anyone to go through what I went through.
Firstly, there was no signage of how to get into the building (in a busy city centre). The only way I managed to get in was because the doctor/consultant was late. I was 10 minutes early, and he was there 5 minutes before our consultation started (aka late). This then meant that our appointment was running late. The clinic had no printer working, which meant no formal documents were printed for my assessment. I was assured that once it worked, all my personal details would be transferred onto the right forms...(this comes up again later)
The appointment felt rushed, and no-one there seemed to know what they were doing - think, constantly opening drawers trying to find things, like paper, pens, tissues for after the consultation etc. drawing diagrams on random bits of paper of what they planned to do to me. They couldn't find anything and like I have said, they wrote all my very personal information down on random bits of paper that could be easily a) lost, or in someone else's possession or b) not transferred to the proper documents.
I left and paid the remainder of my consultation fee - which again, in hindsight, I should not have bothered doing because I had already decided I did not want them to do anything to me.
Then, I receive phone calls constantly asking if I want to book my appointment. I ignored these at first because I couldn't be bothered to argue. Until one day when I decided I would answer. I explained the entire situation to the person on the end of the phone and said I was really upset and angry about what had happened to me, which they sounded very confused about, and then essentially said it wasmedical negligence (regarding the incorrect method of taking notes about my personal case). They assured me they would speak to the centre and get back to me. They did not. I had to chase them on multiple phone calls to no avail.
They told me they do not do refunds on treatments/consultations because you pay for it beforehand...I did not. I paid a deposit. Also, how would i know to ask for a refund BEFORE the consultation? I would have to have had a terrible consultation to ask for a refund (spoiler alert - I DID.) They offered me £50 to which I said was actually insulting, considering it was a £250 appointment.
After declining their offer, I have to phone AGAIN to ask what the next steps are. IN THE MEANTIME THEY ARE STILL RINGING ME TO BOOK IN. I had to explain so many times to please stop ringing me.
Next up, I call again. They offered me £100. I said I will take it because I just cannot be bothered to communicate with them anymore. I give my bank details and wait.
A week goes by, still nothing. I ring AGAIN. They say the details did not match my name from my form and my bank details...So when they did the 'transferral' of information and my personal data from random bits of paper, they failed to write my name down correctly. I asked why did no-one ring to tell me the details weren't correct, to try and amend the situation? They didn't really have an answer.
Anyway, still waiting for the rest of my money. So I, 120% would not bother using them. Rude, unprofessional, openly admitting (and proving) medical negligence and doing nothing to try and resolve the situation.
