Avoid Network VEKA Insurance Backed Guarantee!

When my wife and I discovered that Andrew Wright Windows and Doors Ltd had gone into liquidation after 80 plus years, we were shocked especially for the impact it would have on all their staff and customers. Also, it was ironic it happened the day before we were scheduled to have mainly minor snagging defects fixed after the installation of new windows and doors.

Still no worries, we have a 10 Year Insurance Backed Guarantee Certificate with Independent Network Veka Ltd that will cover these issues, which the Installers Site Supervisor stated would only take an hour to execute.

Now we have response from Veka that implies it will cost us £500 - £700 to cover these defects (£100 for each item). This is a joke! What a way to treat customers. It seems to me that Veka Ltd are just vultures picking up the scraps of snagging works that have befallen the customers of liquidated companies. Some insurance cover this. God help the customers who were half-way through their installations at the time of liquidation!

When you make a claim be aware that…

When you make a claim be aware that their 10year guarantee has the caviat that states (IT IS AT THERE DISCRETION) which allows them to avoid paying for repairs especially when they are expensive as was it was in my case.

Independent Network or Veka UK…

Independent Network or Veka UK insurance backed guarantee is not really worth the paper it is written on.
If you need to make a claim they are very unhelpful and the portal to upload your information is unusable. I am sure that they make it that difficult to claim that you eventually give up. Also you have to pay £100 excess on EACH fault and complete a totally separate claim for EACH fault. BEWARE.
