I’d give 0 stars if I could

I’d give 0 stars if I could. VENMO states if you link your payments to a bank account rather than a credit card, when you make a payment they won’t deduct a fee. That is a LIE!!! It’s exactly what I did and when I made a payment they TOOK $25. I appealed and said my appeal was because I used a bank account so there must have been a mistake. They DENIED this and kept my money. VENMO is a terrible SCAM and they will literally STEAL your money and there will be absolutely NOTHING you can do about it.

The worst of them all

The worst of them all. Took me 3 weeks to figure out how to dispute anything. The biggest issue was someone was allowed to pull money from my account without me having a active debit card. So if I didn't have a debit card, how did they pull money from the debit card🤔🤔

Their customer service is a joke

Their customer service is a joke. I tried to call to figure out why my instant transfer has taken over 24 hours and the automated system would not let me speak to a representative about it. Like many other websites it IS NOT ADHD friendly.

Awful

Awful. Have had a Venmo account for several years and for some reason they have started flagging my account when I try to pay people/family members that I have been using with Venmo for YEARS. Have consciously made the decision to use Zelle instead.

Easier than cash but horrible in every other way

Bank transfers to my venmo account are always late. It's bad enough that they give a time window of 5 business days to transfer money from a main stream bank but for it to take longer than that is incomprehensible. Customer service is of no help. Error messages are no help. Being limited to one venmo account per bank account means my husband has to venmo money to me so that I can send it back to the bank or the reverse. PayPal needs to step up and fix this.

It is a convenient alternative to carrying cash but beyond that it's terrible.

Venmo is the worst app for sending money

Venmo will not allow me move money from my bank to my Venmo account. I've contacted customer support and they say there is nothing they can do. BS!!! My last transaction was a measly $10 and for some reason they froze my Venmo account. They said I have to wait until the system refreshes itself. Again, BS!!! I've been waiting for days and I still get the same message. And Customer Support keeps telling me they can do nothing. Someone in their IT department can help...they just refuse to do anything. I'm done with Venmo! The worst app for sending cash!!

They stole $920 from us

They stole $920 from us. Did the bank transfer for the first time, never received it, Venmo claims they’re perfect on their end and gave us the money. Bank statements prove they didn’t. Deleted one of our Venmo accounts already, in the process of deleting our other one. Sent it to all the group chats and everyone is deleting it. We’re all switching to Zelle and PayPal since Venmo doesn’t want to make their mistake right and give back our rightful money they STOLE. Just had a friend also get $50 stollen by Venmo also. Seems it must be their new thing to steal our money. Goodbye scam artist Venmo, you will not be missed.

Beyond awful customer service

Customer service is beyond awful. Using the online chat is painful. There is no level of customer service at all. The replies aren’t even polite.

Their Motto is F the Customer

Attempted to set up the app and link my debit card. It said there was an error with my card. I called my bank. No error. I attempting calling Venmo. No human could be reached. I attempted to talk with a human over the app. Was told an agent will be with me shortly I was left waiting to die. No one came. I deleted it. Their motto is F the customer

If you think Venmo has your back when a business rips you off, think again. I paid $197 to Big O Tires for an alignment. They did a garbage job, but because car shops hold your keys hostage until you pay, I couldn't verify the service until I was actually on the road.
I filed a dispute with Venmo, and their "investigation" is an absolute circus. They claim to have a 50-day process, but they rushed out a denial in a week. Venmo's official reason for denying the claim? They said I "had the opportunity to look at the item before purchasing it."
Venmo clearly has no idea how the real world works. How do you "look" at a wheel alignment while a car is parked? You have to drive the vehicle to know if the service was actually performed. By the time you realize Big O Tires screwed up your car, the money is already gone and Venmo is busy making excuses for the merchant.
Venmo didn’t read the dispute, they don't understand the automotive industry, and they are actively protecting businesses that provide fraudulent services. Their "Purchase Protection" is a marketing lie designed to collect fees while they leave customers high and dry.
Do not trust Venmo with your money. They are lazy, their logic is brainless, and they will side with a crooked shop over a loyal user every single time. Venmo is essentially a getaway driver for businesses that do bad work.

Their computer system has glitches

Their computer system has glitches; it won't transfer my funds in my account to my bank (even though I have had this bank for several years and now they claim it doesn't work). Account frozen over and over again and they will not just mail a check and close the account. They're holding my money and refusing to fix their system so I can get my money. This has been going on for weeks and getting absolutely nowhere!

Random problems without explination nor solutions

About a year ago, I used the app a few times, and it worked as expected. Now, I am trying to make a payment to a verified friend, but the transaction keeps getting cancelled. Customer service is useless. Apparently, they are run by an almighty system untouchable by human hands.

Venmo Has Become Unreliable and Support Is No Help

I’ve used Venmo for years because it used to be simple, fast, and reliable. Lately though, the experience has become incredibly frustrating and inconsistent.
Out of nowhere, Venmo started blocking certain transactions without giving any clear explanation or error message. For example, I’ll try to send money to a friend and it simply won’t go through. What’s strange is that it’s not all transactions or all people , just certain friends at random. One day it won’t allow me to send money to someone at all, and the next day it suddenly works again.
The same thing happens with adding payment methods. One day I can add a card with no issue, and the next day Venmo won’t allow it. There’s no clear reason, no warning, and no real guidance from the app about what’s actually happening.
Customer service has been even more frustrating. The only explanation I get is that it’s due to “security,” and that I should try again in a few hours. The problem is that even after waiting, the issue often continues. There’s no real troubleshooting, no transparency, and no way to resolve the problem when it happens.
A payment app should be dependable, especially when you’re trying to send money to friends or handle something important. Unfortunately, Venmo no longer feels reliable. What used to be a simple and trustworthy service now feels unpredictable, and support doesn’t seem able to help when things go wrong.
I really hope Venmo improves the stability of the platform and provides clearer explanations when transactions are blocked.
