On the off chance went to visit the showroom to see what they had. Our dealings were with Stuart and Harry. Test drove one of the evoques and left thinking about it. Went back 2 days later and spoke to Harry and said we would take it but wanted drive it home then. Not too sure if this is normal (Didnt even want the handover valet) but Harry sorted everything for us there and then (and also said to pop it in after a few months for the valet). Made payment easy, sorted the tax etc. Both Stuart and Harry were excellent and happy to indulge us with every stupid question we asked. We would absolutley go back to Vertu again these guys made the purchase a pleasure along with all the other team members who interacted with us. Your staff are a real credit to the company.

Ryan Duncan looked after us throughout the whole process and was professional, knowledgeable and incredibly helpful every step of the way. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble, and everything was explained clearly and thoroughly, including the service plan and additional insurance options, which gave us real peace of mind.
The handover experience was particularly memorable. Ryan even came in on his day off to hand the car over to us, which we really appreciated. He made the whole occasion feel special rather than just another car purchase. One of our children didn’t even know we’d bought the car, so seeing their reaction when they got to pull the black cover off was a lovely moment that Ryan helped make possible.
The walkthrough of the car was clear, detailed and easy to follow, and we left feeling confident and excited about our new vehicle. We absolutely love the car and couldn’t be happier with our purchase.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Vertu JLR Exeter, and especially Ryan Duncan, to anyone looking for a new car. Based on this experience, we’d be more than happy to return in a few years when it’s time to trade in and buy our next vehicle.

I purchased a used vehicle from Vertu Jaguar Land Rover for approximately £33,000. Within five months and around 900 miles of normal use, an issue became apparent involving loose or improperly secured components within the wheel arch/underside area found by their own engineers.
This is not an area that would have been visible or reasonably identifiable at the point of handover. It only became apparent after use, and I raised this promptly.
Vertu have declined responsibility without providing clear evidence. The photograph relied upon does not show the relevant area at all, and despite repeated requests, no pre-delivery inspection (PDI), preparation, or handover documentation has been provided to demonstrate the condition of these components at the point of sale.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the burden is on the retailer within the first six months to demonstrate that the fault was not present at delivery. In this case, that has not been evidenced.
Instead, the approach taken has felt as though the default position is simply to attribute the issue to the customer without properly establishing the facts.
The complaint handling has been equally disappointing:
Ongoing delays and the need to repeatedly chase
Clear questions not being answered
No meaningful evidence provided
Reference to potential chargeable work before liability was established
In particular, the final response from the Client Experience Manager felt generic, dismissive, and lacking genuine engagement with the issues raised. In my view, it came across as condescending in tone, which left me feeling that my concerns had not been taken seriously. Rather than addressing the substance of the points raised, the response appeared to close the matter without properly evidencing the position.
Overall, the experience has been frustrating and undermining. What should have been a straightforward issue—either evidenced or resolved—has instead been handled in a way that felt defensive and dismissive.
The impression given is of a business that, once challenged, is more focused on rejecting responsibility than properly investigating concerns.
I approached this in good faith and would have preferred a pragmatic resolution. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend.
