Victoria Park Tutoring offers personal 1:1 tuition at home around Victoria Park in East London. We work with families who want their child to enjoy the session, pass the exam in front of them, and keep climbing towards sixth form, university and the goals they set. Most of our work is Maths and English — fluency, reasoning, reading, writing and grammar — because those foundations unlock later success. We also support weekly homework, and we offer focused revision when parents ask for a difficult topic to be made secure and exam-ready. Other subjects are available on request, matched to the goal your child is working towards. We prepare children of all ages, from the primary years through to students sitting SATs, the 11 Plus, independent-school entrance exams and GCSE maths. The aim is the same at every stage: pass the paper in front of you, then keep the door open to selective schools, sixth form and university. Sessions are strictly one-to-one. Each child learns as an individual, so nothing is diluted in a classroom or a centre. We teach at yours — around the kitchen table or a quiet corner at home — with no teaching centres, no offices and no corporate overhead. You pay for skilled time with your child. Small groups are only arranged when parents request them, typically for siblings or a school friend. Remote support by video call is available on request. A classroom has to teach the middle of the group. One-to-one means we teach this child. We switch examples until the idea clicks: a SATs word problem rather than another arithmetic drill, or a story rather than another grammar exercise. We put the task in life context, so a child can see why this week’s homework or this paper matters. We also move between exam procedure — timing, GCSE method marks, the shape of an answer — and the bigger picture. That is difficult to do for every pupil in a full class. Our tutors are experienced twice over: as parents, and in a professional career. They know the school run, the exam timetable, and how a child feels the night before a paper. They have also worked in the world your child may one day enter, and they teach with that destination in mind. We explain simply and straightforwardly. When a topic finally clicks, children enjoy the work — and enjoyment is what carries them through exams and into higher education. We are not a student-tutor service between lectures. Victoria Park Tutoring is an accredited member of The Tutors’ Association (TTA), the UK’s leading professional body for tutors. Around Victoria Park we cover East London from the City to Bow, and from Hackney to Wapping, including neighbourhoods such as Bethnal Green, Mile End, Globe Town, South Hackney and London Fields. Locations further away are by agreement. 1:1 tuition is at home with remote tutoring on request, with discounts for small groups and further discounts when you refer another family. Getting started is simple. Send a short note about your child and the exam or homework in front of them. We reply with a straightforward next step — usually a first session at home, with no obligation to continue. If the fit is right, we agree a regular time. Many families start within a week. Made even tricky maths topics feel simple and gave me that a-ha! effect.

I needed some support in maths and found VPT very helpful - he made even tricky maths topics feel simple and gave me that a-ha! effect. It's rare to find a tutor who can break things down in a way that clicks and makes it almost fun. Highly recommend!
