I must admit to being biased
I must admit to being biased, I have been buying Video 125 products for so many years that I remember them issuing a V2000 video!! Every one that I have bought and I must have well over 50, is a gem, all down to Peter's efforts and his choice of the "commentator". I would love to know how they are all filmed but when Peter addressed my local RCTS I could not attend!!

The Shimla Railcar

Video 125, the good the bad and positive feedback.
I have used video 125 for many years and enjoy their presentations. My only criticism of their procedure is that, since they started downloads, they give you a link to download your recordings, but this is only available for a certain time.
I believe what they should do is allow you to set up an account so that you can go and re-download your purchases at any time. it is very possible that they can have a limit on the number of downloads you can have, but this would save a lot of hassle. It would also enable you to keep track of which recordings you have had from them.
I have also recently written to them as I am visually impaired and I noted they are now using more text on screen during their driver IVs. In the past, they used to have the text but they also used to speak it at the same time which was much more inclusive.

You can keep the video download forever and watch it as many times as you like, but you’re right that you need to download it within 28 days of purchase. If you miss that date, you can contact us and we’ll re-send the link for free (or for a £2 fee if it’s a re-download).
Every time a video is downloaded, we pay a ‘bandwidth’ fee for our web server (it’s a myth that there are no delivery costs for digital goods). If there was no time limit and you kept re-downloading it, before long we will have paid more for the bandwidth than you paid for the video, and video downloads would become a loss-making venture for us. Unlike the giants of Netflix or YouTube, we don’t have the benefit of paying for bandwidth in bulk (or owning our own servers), so it’s a cost we have to bear.
We’ve looked at adding customer accounts to our website, but it would double the cost of running a downloads service as we’d need to change technology providers to a more expensive service. We’ve also looked at alternatives like creating a Video 125 mobile app (like Netflix) but the starting price of £20,000 makes this prohibitively expensive, before even knowing if it would be successful.
We feel it’s important that we avoid adding extra costs like this that would lead to us increasing the price of our videos, especially at the moment when everybody is feeling the cost-of-living crisis!
I hope transparently sharing these details helps explain why downloading with a 28 day time limit is the only practical option.
