Vietnam Air is one of growing airlines in ASEAN region despite 1st timer experience and also to cover most of busy routes for the travelers demand.
In term of services and customer treatment are on the acceptance standard.

If I were to rate, I would give 10 points for the quality of the Business customer support box office here. I was supported very carefully and enthusiastically by the smile of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen. Her wholehearted support makes me very satisfied. Thank you Vietnam airline and thank you very much Huyen.
The ticket office is clean, neat, cool, and has a beautiful space. Attitude and professionalism are all very good.

Service was very good. Like vegetarian food. Thanks. I enjoyed the flight.

Worst airline! Be careful when you pack your luggage bag. Even you have two person with 23Kg x 2, if you only pack one luggage bag and exceed 23Kg they will charge you extras or you have to pay extras to buy cardboard for repacking your items. It seem like they knew they can charge you extras for that. Really lousy service.

What a terrible experience.

Their costumer service made me buy a new ticket!

So, I have flown quite a bit over the past 10 years, so I have booked plenty of tickets. Several times I have been asked to use my initials instead of my full name when booking, because my full name doesn't fit on the boarding pass. As such, I have grown accustomed to using my initials 'FP' when booking my tickets, and have never had a problem with this whatsoever.

However, when checking in with Vietnam Airlines, they told me this wasn't possible. I was sent to costumer service. After a lenghty argument, they made me buy a new ticket or they wouldn't let me on the flight!

Truly outrageous! I would have been fine with paying a small fee to change the name on the ticket (it was still 2 hours before the flight and I hadn't checked in any luggage).

This airline has terrible costumer service and would absolutely not recommend it.

P.S.

The weirdest part is that I flew with one of their competitors VietjetAir just a week before, using my initials, also a domestic flight in Vietnam, and there was no issue whatsoever.

Booked online but made a mistake with one of the dates..Emailed the support line immediately and only received 10% back.. Disgraceful..

I recently flew with Vietnam Airlines and had a fantastic experience. The booking process was easy, the cabin was comfortable, and the in-flight meals were delicious. The crew was professional and attentive, and the airline maintained punctuality. COVID-19 safety measures were also in place. I highly recommend Vietnam Airlines to fellow travelers for a memorable journey.

GARBAGE! We were flying from London to Sydney via Hanoi (layover). At Heathrow We waited ages in the check in line to only be told at the counter sorry you don’t have a Visa can’t help you bye….. there was no help or information anywhere on their website to state this. We had to urgently apply for a visa within a space of 1 hour before checkin closed which set us back 700US. There were a bunch of Australians who were also in the same boat and stressing out to apply last minute. UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE SO ITS CLEAR!!

Flying to Paris from Melbourne. Turned up at the flight to be told we needed a visa to transit and we were then charged $500 for an ‘instant visa fee’. Total scam. Flight was delayed and and Ho Chi Minh is chaos. Worst airline I have every experienced. Never fly with them.

Insufficient information on website should have warned me. Then no reply to the many calls I made. I would not recommend this airline at all.

AMENDED REVIEW
In January I booked and paid for tickets from HKG to HAN in May. By March I was puzzled to see that the flight was no longer offered on their website, and flight trackers were showing it operating at a different time. I waited for them to notify me of the schedule change. They never did. Eventually I emailed them. Only then did they tell me that the flight would not be operating on the day I had booked at all, and that we would now travel the following day. This is unacceptable to me, as we shall miss the start of the tour we have booked.

I emailed their customer support and their HKG office. I also spoke to them on the phone. They were apologetic and immediately offered a refund. They were unable to transfer my booking to another airline. The failure to contact me promptly was rather poor, and has cost me 250 GBP, because fares have gone up. But their responsiveness once I contacted them has been good - better than I would have expected from some of the reviews here. I have increased my star rating.

Within a couple of weeks of booking from Vietnam to Germany they started changing the flight times via multiple emails. No new schedule was provided and one of the changes left me no time to change planes in Hanoi.

Then no help from their appalling customer service.

Worst airline in the world in my experience

We travelled to Australia from the UK via Vietnam airlines Business Class. We have used many other airlines including Emirates Etihad etc. Vietnam have improved their offerings providing in general top quality food and drinks. The service on all flights was excellent but the food provided on the London -Ho Chi Minh leg was outstanding by any standards. Other flights were almost as good -for example their Champagne offering is very good indeed! The seats are fairly good on both the B787s and A350s.I have the impression that they have definately upped their game here recently and it shows. They noiw represnet a good quality Busienss Class service at ( by class standrads) a reasonable price. Highly recommended!

We recently spent 2 weeks in Vietnam and during that time not one of our three internal or international flights departed or arrived on time. we had several cancelled flights and our return flight home to Australia was delayed by 3 hours but no one informed us until we were at the gate and thinking we were boarding on time. Pretty disappointing all round.

Booked a business class flight 2 weeks in advance and cancelled within 24 hours of booking direct on there website, now im told the fully refundable ticket wont be refunded having received confirmation it would be.

Probably the better one compared to other Vietnamese airlines. Good and relatively new planes and check-in luggage is most of the time included in the price, however, if you need to change your ticket or get a refund it is nearly impossible, and headaches are guaranteed. Good airline but really lacks customer service.

After buying tickets for a certain date I immediately realized that the date was wrong. Maybe my mistake, of course. But I immediately wrote to the company that, without any scruples, changed my tickets applying penalties. No sensitivity towards the customer, they have decided to lose a future customer.

Do not fly with them. Appalling customer service. Paid for baggage online, we had receipts to prove we paid but they made us pay again at the airport.
