On 1st June the booking system for classes at Portsmouth has changed to a panic at 7am to try to book. Even booking at 7am & nil seconds results in being stuck on a waiting list of 10 people - when pl... See more

No matter what time of day you go to this gym you struggle to use any of the equipment due to the fact they have got far too many members.
I have never known a gym to be so busy all times of the day.
There is only 1 squat rack and only 1 flat bench for bench press........
I heard a rumour that they have got 3500 members
Absolutely crazy
Do not waste your money on a membership here.
Absolutely disgusting service at…
Absolutely disgusting service at Walsall Village Gym money grabbing business stay away you can never get hold of anyone you send emails and nothing then keep charging you. If I could give minuses I would.
Dirty and unhygienic gym!
I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my experience at Village Gym Watford. As a paying member, I expected a clean and hygienic environment, especially given the high monthly fees. Unfortunately, the conditions at the gym have consistently fallen short of these expectations.
Cleanliness Issues:
The toilets are often blocked and in an unacceptable state.
The showers are filthy, with hair and residue from shampoo and conditioner accumulating.
The gym floor is frequently dirty, with crumbs, hair, and dust collecting everywhere.
I have encountered feces on the changing room floors on multiple occasions, which is alarming and poses serious health risks.
The sanitary bins in the female changing rooms are regularly overflowing, with used towels left on top, creating an unpleasant odor and unacceptable hygiene conditions.
In addition to the cleanliness concerns, my interactions with the management have been frustrating. I’ve raised these issues with Eloise, who has been rude, unwilling to listen, and dismissive of my feedback.
Just recently, I accidentally left my handbag in a locker. When I called to see if it had been handed in, Eloise promised to check and call me back—but she never did. Strangely, I later learned from another member that my handbag had indeed been handed in, yet the gym reception had no record of it. This lack of organization and communication is incredibly concerning.
Overall, the combination of poor hygiene and inadequate customer service makes it difficult for me to continue my membership at Village Gym Watford. I urge the management to address these issues promptly for the betterment of all members.
Poor membership communication and charges
Bad experience… increased my direct debit without notification and when I reconfirmed that my job was still the same they still charged a higher membership rate despite agreeing to adjust it 4 weeks ago… I’ve cancelled my membership now
Over priced & run by arrogant fools
I wish I had seen these reviews before I signed up for flex membership.
What can I say…
Over priced at £71 per month. Thankfully my membership will end in 3 weeks time!!! Can’t book on to the classes, they are always full. Gym is over crowded & can’t get on the machines. The machines are old and many out of order. Pool is dirty, as are changing rooms.
Tonight was last straw as refused admittance to cycling class, because barely a few mins late. Verbally abused by the instructor - many are rude and very arrogant. Well so sorry I was late but some of us do actually have to work(!) Disinterested duty manager when I complained, who I doubt was any manager at all as didn’t have a clue and couldn’t point me to any kind of insurance policy either. So clearly has no idea and needs training.
Have took my complaint to head office, Reading reviews on here they sound like scammers so complaint will be ignored.Poor quality, too expensive, run by arrogant ignorant people. They have spoilt themselves by being too greedy for more members. Hope people wake up to this and vote with their feet!
3 months cancellation notice even if you are not in contract
Beware! Abusive T&C - after 4 years of being a member, they enforced a 3 month cancellation notice.
Leeds South
Leeds
Honestly I signed up in January 2025 and I loved it to start with, what they offer is actually good value but what they offer isn’t run properly
Showers and toilets in the men’s toilets are horrible
Too many gym goers wearing political t shirts, I wanna go gym to better myself not to see political slogans on people
The worst part is the membership debit though
My payment failed twice and instead of being smart and telling me they let it go on until may. I started getting hateful letters threatening enforcement action, now working in law enforcement myself Ican confirm this isn’t legal
They offered me £100 to continue going to the gym or £150 to cancel
So I cancelled
This is not how to run a business and assume this isnt a Leeds problem it’s a village gym problem

Village gym Portsmouth
Village gym Portsmouth offers a comprehensive range of Les Mills and fitness classes provided by professional instructors which rank best in the region. Although the external studio is of a fabric/temporary construction type with limited capacity, the quality and motivating of the instructors more than make up for the sub-optimal facility.
Village Gym Newcastle
Village Gym Newcastle. Excellent gym with good equipment and training facilities. Friendly members and staff - especially Jeff on poolside, who make the gym feel like a great community.

Jodi makes you feel very welcome when you arrive at the gym and is always smiling. Nothing is too much trouble.
Hull-No air conditioning
Hull-No air conditioning, dirty showers, music so loud you cannot concentrate on your class next door. These issues have been highlighted for months, but nothing gets done
It is amazing gym and pull
Membership lock in!
Don’t join! You can’t leave if you can’t use it. They make you stick to the contract. Injured rotator cuff and haven’t been able to go for 3 months. Paid each month for nothing. Tried to cancel and they won’t have it. Still have to pay them for another 3 months with no use of it.
Nearly £400 for Nothing! It would be easier to get out of a cult than this gym.
Buyer beware!!!!
I’ve cancelled my direct debit and here come the threats……..
Wish I had looked at reviews before …
Wish I had looked at reviews before joining this gym
I tried cancelling last year when my partner moved out as he helped with bills only to get told I have to prove he’s moved out I said how do I do that 🤦♀️they wouldn’t let me so kept paying even thou I was in financial hardship I ain’t been for 8 months i was paying £56 and not able to use due to health issues I froze it for 3 months they took full payment yet again in April I thought I’m not paying for something I’m not able to use I sent them letter from doctor that don’t count so I cancelled direct debit but like I’ve seen on here send threatening emails and tex saying send to debt collection I’ve just got paid and had to pay £68 for absolutely nothing they was making me very anxious that was my shopping money for food but they don’t care doesn’t matter u have health issues or financial difficulties they just want money absolutely disgusting they should take into account no one knows if they are going to have health issues or money issues
Especially money issues with how expensive everything is
Since I’ve joined the Village Gym in…
Since I’ve joined the Village Gym in Swansea I have to say the staff are amazing there.
Especially Taylor who showed us around the facility and has been our first point of call if we have needed to ask anything.
She is a gem in that sense and if I’m honest here she is the reason for signing up to have a personal trainer as she is amazing in every way possible.
She made she we was kept up to date with how long the jacuzzi would take to be fixed and when it was fixed.
You have a right gem there if I’m honest.
