Bought a bottle from the year my brother was born for his 50th. Opened it for xmas dinner but it was corked and utterly undrinkable. Sent them an email and they replaced it with a lovely 2016 Barolo but one that is on sale for £30 less than I paid for the original bottle (even more when you include the fancy packaging I bought). When I asked about refunding the difference they refused. Poor service.

Edit after their reply. The replacement bottle may have been on their site at that price but it was £30 cheaper at multiple sites all over the internet at the time.

My husband's brother bought him a 50-year-old bottle of red wine for this 50th birthday. The wine was totally undrinkable and went down the sink. As it was opened after the 3-month guarantee the company didn't want to know when we complained. The extra few months wouldn't make a difference on wine this old. Be very wary of giving this company your money!

Haven’t tried the wine as it was a gift but I ordered on Monday evening and it was delivered on Wednesday! The accessories in the gift box seemed great too! The only reason I haven’t given 5 stars is the lining came away in the gift box and exposed the polystyrene which really isn’t what I wanted for a gift. However, it was brilliantly quick, I would use again.

I have used this company a few times to buy Port and the odd bottle of wine as a gift. If the product isn't off they are great. However, I recently bought some wine as a gift and it was off. Some clever words offered in response (load of rubbish about tannins and airing for 3 hours) which I have seen them use in other review responses on google but no offer of a refund, despite their quality promise. They suggested I post the opened bottle to them which is hardly practical and by the time it arrived it would be useless for "testing" which makes this a ridiculous suggestion.
So use these guys at your peril. I also bought a bottle of port off them a while back that was like vinegar but didn't bother asking for a refund so there is a track record of them selling stock that hasn't been properly stored. Won't be using again, many more reputable merchants around.

Listen, if you’re a collector of vintage port like me (or indeed wine), or if you are a bit naughty and actually imbibe your purchases, you won't find better prices, service, delivery and overall fluffy warmness than this seller. I've spent mucho dinero with VWP. I have absolutely no connection to them in any way, except an invisible umbilical that draws me back time after time.

I do sometimes wish that VWP would try and source some more affordable older vintages, because who doesn’t want to collect or drink a port from the classic 1912 vintage for instance. I don't know about you, but I would love to own a bottle, or the from the magnificent 1945. Personally, I can't afford over a thousand quid for a bottle of wine, but if you can, VWP probably has and will certainly search for a bottle if you ask them.

Overall, a well laid out website and a great shopping experience. Huzzah! As British cavalrymen and us port collectors have been known to shout.
