Customer service, excellent. But the trains at night are like ovens.

I travelled from Euston to Manchester, 5.2.15 at eleven O'clock at night. The journey would have been fine had the carriages not been so hot and stuffy. The heat made my daughter so nausious she wound up in the loo. I got panicky because I was so hot and there was no way to get cool air. I actually felt trapped.
I did complain to Virgin and they refunded the cost of my tickets in full by sending me vouchers. I wll use them as my other daughter lives in Hampstead but I am rather nervous about the journey home again. The Manchester to London train was fine. Its the late night service I'm worried about.
Please, please Keep the carriages cooler at night Virgin trains.

Excellent

I've used Virgin trains many times in the last couple of years. I have found all the staff, without exception, to be approachable, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. A couple of times they have gone way beyond what one might expect, they could have stuck to the rigid attitude other operators staff have but didn't.

The website is easy to use and the cheapest prices easy to find. I always travel first class and find if you can make your travel plans in advance, it is very good value.

I would recommend Virgin Trains without hesitation.

Rubish services and customer services at high cost

I'm so disgusted by their refunds process.
I bought tickets under booking ref NNRJ2L4C on 12th February. I called 3 times your customer services until I managed to speak with a quite bright person. I asked for the refund for the outward trip to London. I was told that I can cancel that ticket and get a total refund of £35.50 withing the next 4 weeks. And I booked another ticket (much higher price of course). I send the ticket to Edinburgh office on 13th February. Today is 27th of March and I still didn't receive my refund.
Today I contacted them again and I was told they never received the tickets.
I didn't send them by recorded mail (other money, more fun) and now I can't get a refund.
This company is a disgrace.
Tickets prices are so high ... customer services phone numbers are charges and at least they can't be professional.
