Lovely ship and cabin

Lovely ship and cabin although the pool is very, very small and not fit to swim in-very disappointing. Good gym. Room service excellent. Breakfast cereal like a children's choice so unhealthy. The lunch I liked was chicken nearly every day, disappointed not much fish choices. Dinner was excellent with plenty of choices and lovely food. Steaks were always cooked to precision.
Some staff were on their mobile phones too much and were so embroiled in them they ignored Sailors. Some also talked to each other ignoring sailors!
Entertainment good-always something going on and lots of quizzes. Very good cruise and would recommend as no children!

True Excellence

I have to start with the Pink Agave Restaurant, without doubt the best meal I have ever had. The Papas Con Chirizo was other worldly, incredibly well seasoned just amazing flavours...and yes, I did have 2 servings! The Pescados was cooked to perfection and the Tacos de Chocolate left me wanting more. All the restaurant staff were a delight, but I must give out a big shout out to Amit who was incredibly attentive, I saw him in his morning shift in the galley and his impeccable service never waivered. I take my hat off to whoever the chef was, truly outstanding. I told the manager about my experience and he seemed shocked at my high praise, he will get used to it.

This restaurant was full, totally undersrandable given such quality, great ambience lighting, and the excited chatter from other diners only added to the amazing atmosphere.

Virgin has a chaotic disembarkation process

Great dining options. Great service and energetic staff. Entertainment could be better. Embarkation and disembarkation process is broken. No need to be a maverick or be different if you can’t improve on the already proven process of even bigger ships.

What a fabulous time we had

What a fabulous time we had. From the embarkation, transfers, staff, service, food, rooms, easy disembarkation. You name it. We loved it.
Shout out to Oliv, Dianne, and all the staff who were friendly, efficient and kind.
Would recommend this ship to anyone wanting to relax...or not.
Recommend to anyone wanting to put on weight! Food is next level.
Staff cleaning cabins were incredibly efficient.
I got lost a few times (it's a big ship). Hahaha.
Wouldn't change anything.

Where should I begin...

Where should I begin.... we were a group of 14, all are seasoned cruisers. We have sailed with Carnival, Norwegian, and Royal Caribbean many times.

Although I loved the no kids option, our family will never sail with them again. My sister, who has a traumatic brain injury and dementia, sailed with us. When she gets disoriented, she know to go to guest services and ask for help. We tend to cruise so she can have some freedom to move about the ship without so much supervision. Guest services was annoyed and called our family to say, that our sister could not go to guest services anymore b/c she had gone too many times. Guest services, who is suppose to be there to help..
Dinner was a real disaster most days. If you did not have a restaurant reservation, the galley only had 1-2 options. The rest of the service stations were closed for dinner. You could get whatever "buffet" style main dish, and a dessert. The reservations closed days before even boarding the ship.
Most mornings, trying to find a table to eat at the galley- was a problem. There was never enough tables for everyone to eat. People were scrambling to get whatever seating was available.
The ship only had one main pool, and a couple of hot tubs. The pool was so crowded most days, you couldn't even put your feet in.
On our last day of the cruise, we had no power in our cabin. We were unable to call guest services either because the phone did not work. We got dressed in the dark, until I was finally able to contact our cabin steward.
The whole experience was such a let down, especially after all the hype. I'll just say ... cruiser beware.

Don't arrive too early because you'll be waiting

The waiting prior to boarding is ridiculous. If you arrive early there is no where for you to sit or wait. They have you out in the sun or elements waiting for hours. It would be appreciated to have a lounge to stay in and able to be seated and possibly charge your phone or use the restroom while waiting. After getting on however, I enjoyed myself.

Best line of 3 different cruises, I won't cruise anyone else

I've been on 3 cruises, but never adults-only cruise line. I won't go elsewhere from now on. In general: Venue 5 stars, crew 5 stars, food 4 stars, room 4-1/2 stars, excursions (beaches) 5 stars. Loved the Wake and Test Kitchen, very good Extra Virgin and good Pink Agave. Razzle Dazzle was ok. Other food venues were great short wait style grab and go. Pools were crowded unless you get there early. Beach excursions awesome. Biggest con were the different bars' abilities to make each others signature cocktails. There should be a "glossary" for all bars to be able to make the specialty drinks from other bars. If I liked a drink, I could only get it at that restaurant or bar. It wasn't universal. I loved the bar tab process and wrist band for all things. Balcony (room) hammock was wonderful. XL sea terrace was a must with larger bathroom. Lots of niche bars and space, never seemed crowded except at pools. "Shake for champagne" gimmick was good in theory but took multiple attempts and technical glitches for a couple days.

Brilliant Lady Review

Brilliant Lady Review

This review is of our voyage on the inaugural sailing of @VirginVoyages Brilliant Lady roundtrip to Bermuda from NYC. This trip was our fourth voyage and arguably our best yet! As someone with mobility issues I am always a bit hesitant when traveling especially cruising but not with Virgin Voyages! Prior to our voyage I reached out to Virgin’s Accessibility team and they got me squared away in an accessible room which by itself is something I am eternally grateful for. That was just the beginning! At the port in NYC Virgin Voyages staff quickly got me situated with a wheelchair to get on board to be treated to a incredible experience! The crew are AMAZING! The second we got on board we were greeted with an excitement you want to see when you embark on a vacation. When we went to the Galley we are greeted and taken care of by some of kindest people I have ever encountered on any vacation and it is sincere! The last evening we were lucky to get to speak with Nelson the Quick Eats Manager and we instantly saw why! His coaching of his staff combined with his sincere attitude towards the guest is not only appreciated & valued, it is shared by his colleagues. In fact every encounter with the crew was wonderful! Special shout outs to:
- [ ] Up with a Twist: Vanessa & Anak
- [ ] The Galley: Theia & Marie, Ivana and the entire Galley Crew! Nelson is a Great Manager!!
- [ ] The Room Attendants for our room 13330Z! They were on top of everything! If I could make one suggestion, give the room attendants business cards so we can have them and really get to know their names (I am terrible with names sometimes) or have their names on the TV as part of the Welcome Message.
You all made our voyage extra special and we look forward to our next trip.

With all that said I believe Virgin Voyages as a company has nailed it on how to maintain a welcoming & inclusive environment! Other companies would do well to try to emulate their methods from hiring all the way to supportive work environments!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review of the Brilliant Lady – Virgin Voyages

We had an amazing time aboard the Brilliant Lady! From start to finish, everything felt smooth, modern, and truly relaxing.

Dining:
Gunbae and Test Kitchen were our absolute favorites—the food was delicious and the experience was memorable. We loved that Virgin Voyages keeps things simple with minimal added fees. With tips, soft drinks, sparkling water, and regular juice included, plus free arcade games, it really takes the stress out of dining and entertainment. And of course, no kids on board made the atmosphere even more serene.

Service & Crew:
The service was spectacular. Every crew member we encountered seemed genuinely happy to be there, and our balcony room attendant was wonderful. Servers constantly checked to make sure accommodations were met and went above and beyond to make us feel taken care of.

Accommodations:
Our regular balcony room felt spacious and comfortable—perfect for relaxing after a day full of activities. And the hammock on the balcony? Hands down the best seat on the ship.

Boarding & Disembarkment:
Embarkation was seamless thanks to our Splash of Romance priority boarding, and disembarkation was quick and effortless.

Entertainment & Relaxation:
The shows were fun and entertaining, though it was a bit tricky to get into some since they are first come, first serve—something to keep in mind on shorter cruises like our 5-day. We also loved the Redemption Spa and ended most evenings unwinding in the hot tubs.

Overall:
Virgin Voyages really impressed us with their thoughtful inclusions, outstanding service, and stress-free experience. We can’t wait to sail with them again on the Brilliant Lady!

Virgin Voyages Cruise Beautiful Ship, Amazing Staff – But Not Without FlawsReview

Virgin Voyages Cruise Review
Pros:

Stunning Ship Design: The ship was absolutely beautiful—modern, clean, and thoughtfully decorated throughout.
Comfortable Cabin: The cabin was well-appointed and cozy. I especially appreciated the overall layout, though a slightly larger bathroom and a couch instead of a single chair would have made it even better.
Exceptional Dining Experience: The variety of restaurants and food options was outstanding. I loved that all the venues were included, allowing us to try everything without extra charges. The quality and diversity of the cuisine were impressive.
Relaxing Outdoor Spaces: Deck 7 was a peaceful retreat with quiet outdoor seating, perfect for unwinding away from the busier areas.
Outstanding Staff: The crew was amazing—always friendly, helpful, and attentive without being overbearing. Their presence was felt in the best way possible, making the experience even more enjoyable.

Cons:

Small Pool Area: The main pool was disappointingly small, and the round pool felt more like a large bathtub than a true swimming space.
Underwhelming Entertainment: The shows lacked variety and didn’t cater to a diverse audience. A broader range of performances would have greatly enhanced the onboard experience.
Disorganized Tender Process: The tender/lottery system for disembarking was chaotic and poorly managed. It caused significant delays and frustration, especially when trying to make it to scheduled tours. Missing time at port due to this inefficiency was a major letdown.

Our second virgin cruise and it was…

Our second virgin cruise and it was amazing. The restaurants on board are all 5 star experiences and the galley for all day dining has a great selection. I would like to say the next one will be with Virgin, but the choice from Portsmouth is very limited, when compared to Southampton. We like the idea of doing a Mediterranean cruise, but prefer port to port with no flights.

First time Cruising with Virgin. Last time cruising with Virgin

First time Cruising with Virgin. I didn no research because I didnt want to go in expecting anything. There's a lot that I didnt like. The food in the Galley had no taste and was undercooked a lot. I dont understand why I had to book restaurants 45 days in advance and still didnt get into a few. The pools are more like Hot Tubs and the excursion planning is terrible.

VV Tie the Knot

We can’t say enough good things about Virgin Voyages. We got married on board with the “Tie the Knot” program, and let me tell you, it was 5 star service from top to bottom. Our coordinator, Chris Rodriguez, was hands down AMAZING. He organized, planned, and set up everything, to the tiniest detail, to make our day more perfect than we ever could have imagined. His professionalism, patience, efficiency, and attention to detail made everything seamless. The icing on the cake is that he was just so personable, it felt like having another close friend at the wedding. I will suggest VV TTK program to every bride I know because of him. The boat was gorgeous, the staff was amazing, and we will never cruise with anyone else again.

Brilliant New RockStar

Brilliant Lady is yet another feather in the cap of Virgin Voyages. I've now sailed on all 4 of their lady ships and I look forward to adventuring to new destinations with them (like Alaska!).

This was my first time upgrading to a RockStar suite and let me tell you... it is worth it! You get so much more space (which is nice to have on longer itineraries), the peekaboo shower is fun, and your stateroom comes stocked with wine, beer and liquor. Also, having your own RockStar agent to help update dining times and other things that would normally require you to spend time at Sailor Services is so handy. You also get to queue in line for shows and experiences in a separate line so you get first dibs on seats. What a perk! And of course, there's access to Richard's Rooftop, where we spent 99% of our time. It's so chill up there, the hot tubs are always available, and there's a one hour free happy hour daily. Totally up our alley.

I now may be addicted to being a RockStar and have already been addicted to Virgin Voyages. Highly recommend!
