Avoid VisaHQ: Poor Service, Missed Errors, and Visa Refusal

I used VisaHQ for a South African Tourist Visa and the experience was deeply disappointing from start to finish. I'm now out of pocket, missed a close family member's wedding, and had to travel 30+ hours each way from Ukraine for a last-minute in-person appointment — all of which could have been avoided with better guidance and clear communication from the start.

Lack of proactive communication. The requirement for an in-person VFS appointment was never mentioned upfront. I only found out after chasing the team repeatedly by email and phone over multiple days. Had this been communicated at the start, I could have planned accordingly instead of scrambling for emergency travel.

Critical document error was never flagged. This is my biggest issue. My accommodation documents only covered half of my trip — an obvious, glaring gap that any experienced visa advisor should catch during a document review. VisaHQ did not flag this. That single missed error contributed directly to my visa refusal and to me missing a once-in-a-lifetime family event.

Refund refused despite poor service. Despite all of the above, VisaHQ repeatedly refused a refund, citing that "the service was rendered." A service that misses critical errors and costs you a wedding is not a service rendered properly.

I would strongly urge anyone considering VisaHQ to think twice. If you're paying for expert guidance, you should at minimum expect someone to read through your documents before submitting them to the embassy. That basic standard was not met here.

Not a proper visa application service that I expect it to be.

Went to their office and only 1 young lady there like a caretaker. No one there to discuss about my visa application. Fee taken before application started. All documents provided through email and when I was told I have to send my passport in to the embassy myself that’s not the visa application service I imagine should be. Cancelled the application and a service charge of £50 was slap on me. So I will get back my full fee less £50.

DO NOT USE THIS AGENCY/COMPANY !!!(i wish i could give -0000)

Dealing Agent (Mara Bathan)
My partner already took a review off, because she was contacted by the agent.
I reside in Ireland. My partner approached this agency this summer (2023), to assist us in obtaining a visa for me to attend my partner's sister's wedding (in the Philippines) I was abroad for the month of August and my partner requested information in relation to the documents that are required so it will be gathered during that time and when I was back in Ireland early 2nd of September 2023 my application will be ready to be submitted, however, Mara decided that she needs to talk to me (the applicant) on the phone before anything(???))which she never did. we had gathered all the documents that were requested and on 26/09/2023 my application was submitted.
My flight is on the 6th of December 2023 and they have not yet obtained any visa nor there have been any decision issued.
Mara Bathan has stated this is not normal, but I had to approach them countless times for her to contact the embassy and at times she would respond by saying she will do it next week.
So much trust and faith has been placed in a professional agency and they do not care about people and their situations.
This has been extremely stressful for me my partner (who is in the Philippines now) and the rest of the family and it is tearing us apart.
I only have a couple of days before the idea of going to the Philippines and attending my sister in law's wedding will fade away due to the lack of competency of Mara and the agency.

I will lose a few thousand euros for the flights and activities that were booked and have been paid for.

Very frustrating and disappointing,

Failed to get my visa on time

I submitted paper work for a visa to Tunisia within the timeframe specified by the company. I had no updates throughout the process except to let us know the paper work had been submitted. It came to a week before the flight and then I started chasing them but they were very relaxed and not too bothered. As a result I missed my flight to Tunisian and I had to spend all day the following Monday at the Tunisian embassy trying to get a visa which I eventually did. I was unable to fly out with the rest of my family. This company did nothing but cause me stress and inconvenience for which I will be seeking compensation from them. Please avoid this company as they should not be allowed to trade.

Incorrect processing time on the website

I used this service before and had no problems. However, on applying for a tourist visa to Egypt, their estimated processing times was different to the recommended period from the Egyptian consulate. They submitted the application despite knowing the period wasn't enough for the application process. When confronted, their lack of empathy was astounding. Holiday lost, lesson learned - Never again.

Do it yourself and save £££s

I was sent a link by a travel agent, which pretended to be information about required documentation and lead to visahq.co.uk

The page linked to claimed I needed a B1 business visa, which is untrue as I am covered by the Visa Waiver Scheme (ESTA). When I queried this misinformation, I was sent a link to an ESTA application page where they would have charged me £102. The real ESTA application cost £12 and took about 5 minutes to do.
In almost every case, it would be very much cheaper to fill in the forms yourself and save a substantial amount of money.

Excellent, professional and responsive

Excellent, professional and responsive. My first time using a third party visa company - but all went very smoothly without any problems at all: Natalia (London) was excellent and let me know when the application was lodged at the consulate (Mongolian) and when my visa was ready for collection, Will definitely use again.
